I'd love to hear some projections for this years draft and offseason business.
I am a Miami fan through and through. I would love to see us pick up one of the big name receivers that could hit free agency; namely TJ Housh and Anquan Boldin. Preference is for Boldin. His catch and run ability is amazing, and a solid possession receiver to complement Ginn's ability to stretch the field, and Camarillo working it underneath would give the Dolphins a great passing attack.
Maybe even more so I would love to see Nnamdi go to us, but I would bet a lot of money that isn't a possibility. Even if the Raiders don't franchise him, he is going to command a crazy amount of cash.
In the draft I could go a lot of routes. I think we can wait on a big receiver for now. Our offense struggled to run and really control the game. With Smiley and Donald Thomas back, it could change, but I would be happy seeing us get Duke Robinson like some are projecting. If we could score Max Unger in the second round, our line would be a force!
Any aspect of the defense could use an upgrade as well, be it at NT, LB, or DB.
The only other team I will comment on now is Detroit. Everyone projects Stafford to go first... I would prefer to see them get the best OT in the draft, whomever that may be. Yeah they need QB, but I think they need to fix the basics first. If they used their two first rounders on the O Line (C Alex Mack or G Robinson with their second pick perhaps), they could pick up Cassel. With Johnson to throw to, and a decent run game with Kevin Smith, they might not be bad next season.
Other option would be to trade down. I see this being a possibility this season as opposed to last season. There are two options for QB, which are projected to both go in the top 10. Crabtree is a significant favorite at receiver, and is projected to go to Seattle at 4. I could see someone trading up to go after him.
That is all!
