Back again, going to have a full push to playoffs preview next week, but here's how things are now and some team updates.
1. Valor, they got the 1 seed wrapped up, only 2 games in which the other team has been within 40, They have given up yards and some points to the lower level teams, but the fact of the matter is it doesn't matter they beat the teams on top. Don't be surprised if they go 16-0.
2. Red Tide, They've beat down everyone in their path except Valor, no game has been close and their defense has been awesome. This team is looking to the Conference finals for redemption and don't expect to see anyone stop that plan.
3. Wolverines, Supreme offense with weapons at every position, yet still a bit under leveled at some of those positions compared to the leagues elite. They've been able to blow a lot of teams out but face a tough stretch with good competition to get them playoff ready in the last 5 games.
4. Sea Hawks, Best way to describe them is consistent, they blow out who they should, beat who teams that give them a small challenge, but get beat down by the best. They are just a step behind the top 2 teams and have a giant game with the Wolverines soon. Well balanced offense and defense.
5. Mambas, Well they are the best of the rest, which is nice, but doesn't do them much good yet. It appears that they are a legit title contender for season 8, but season 7 they will take their lumps against the best but simply just be to powerful for everyone else. Chance to shock the world against the Tide but I don't see it happening. Got a great ball control power rushing attack. But may need to be able to air it out better against the top teams to make noise in the playoffs.
6. Dynasty, Appear to be the likely challengers to the Mambas next year or whatever one of the top 4 teams gets left behind. Team is super stacked on the offensive side with at great offensive backfield. Right now the only thing that seems a bit behind are the trenches as both the offensive and defensive lines are the lowest leveled parts of the team.
7. Jive Turkeys, the surprise of this season so far the Turkeys have been able to jump into the thick of the playoff race. This team has a solid passing attack that is able to pitch it all over the field. They face the toughest final stretch of every team in the playoff race with Valor and Tide still lurking. Will be interesting to see if they can get in.
8. Vikings, Team that seemed destined at the start of the year to be right up there with the Mambas has not performed up to that level yet. Ahmad Boldin is the playmaker of the team and anytime he has the rock can tack it the distance. The thing that seems to be holding this team back a little bit is the defense, but if it fixes it self up who knows what they could pull in the playoffs.
9. Gods, Right around where they were expected to be from the start; have playmakers at some positions but get pushed around at others. Still searching for a threat on the field to take some of the pressure of D.J. Johnnson. If the Offensive and Defensive Lines can hold up they have a chance to get into the playoffs.
Something to keep an eye on, right now it is conceivable that the Gods, Turkeys, and Vikings could all finish 9-7 (Turkeys beat dynasty and Detroit, but lose their last 3, Vikings beat who they should lose to who they should, Gods, lose to Mambas and Tide beat the other 3 teams). No idea how the tiebreaker works there but 2 teams get the spots and you have Vikings over Gods, Gods over Turkeys, Turkeys over Vikings...just something to watch for.
