If you read on the message board everybody say Speed/Agility for basically all positions. And that is the key for good players. But when your recruiting. 75% of the players are terrible slow at there level. I'm working on recruiting a 21 capped team for season 8. I'm finding 40 or 50 speed Level 20 players, lol. Corners, Linebacker, etc. I didn't realize until I started recruiting how hard it is to find good builds on GLB.

because they're a bit old, and most people don't read the FAQ. I think new players need to have it where before the Skill Point assignment screen is shown, a dialog box comes up that says "OMG WTF LOL PLZ READ WIKI B4 @$$IGN SKEEL P01NTZ" to help them realize how the attributes work.

then again, the first thing Esen did on Rookie Blitz was +4sta on his hybrid TE, so who the hell knows.

While I agree zones still suck and you can't build a cover 2 CB as a result, that is not a cover 2 CB.

A cover 2 CB at level 20 with equipment (even though he would peak way too early) should look like

55 speed, 65 agility, 55 vision, 20-25 strength, 20-25 tackling

it's moot though because zone defenses still suck

good builds don't stay f.a.'s for long. and if they are good builds as a free agent, you won't get him because he will have 300 pm's and he will probably take the best league or the best money offer.

The simple truth is

1. Most of the players with good builds are on GLB a lot
2. They won't play for someone unless they recognize them from the forums or a past team
3. They usually have established a network of friends who get first dibs on their players
4. There are dozens of average Joes who have never spent any time in the forums for every power gamer

He's on the money. Networking onto a team is just like networking into a job. The guy who goes to accountant association meetings and meets other accountants is going to have more connections for getting a job in accounting. Likewise, the players who are actively working to better their players via the forums are making connections with other die-hards and thus a connection is made and they can network onto a good team of like minded players where an outsider might not have a chance at that player.

It is tough to recruit good players because they are scarce. It is hard to get a guy when there are 100 teams fighting for 1 player. If every player was good, then they would become average by definition.

This is very true. I have 10 players and have never advertised any as free agents. I have been thinking about letting one or two go the free agent route but I have an established network of owners/GMs and it is hard to turn them down when they want one of your players.

Same thing here, my 17 players were all recruited by teammates before they became free agents

whenever it comes time for a player of mine to get into a lvl 13 capped league, I do my research and sign on to a team that has some experienced agents, owners, and coordinators.

The rest of my players have basically stayed with the same team their entire career with the exception of a few.

Usually when I have a team that goes down from my network of teams I'll put that player on free agent list to broaden my network.

Found a couple real good owners this way.
