Zeta Power Rankings

1. (1) Amsterdam Pirates (34-17 Win vs. West Yorkshire Bandits)

9-0 (2-0 vs. Top 5 teams in Zeta)

The win vs. the Cavaliers was of course no surprise. Now they are no doubt the #1 team in the league after handing the Yorkshire Bandits their first loss of the year. The Pirates were impressive the whole game but the first half is where they were the most dominant. Shutting out the Bandits in the first half while putting up 17 proved to be more than the Bandits could handle. The most impressive stat of the game has to be the Bandits 1.6 yards per carry! Even if rushing isn’t your strength you have to be able to do better than that in order to win. The Pirates ran and threw the ball well but nothing crazy, just a really nice TEAM win. Congrats to wannaknow147 and the whole team.
Next game vs. #9 Glasgow Cats

2. (2) West Yorkshire Bandits (17-34 Loss vs. Amsterdam Pirates)

8-1 (4-1 vs. Top 5)

The Bandits finally get a break in the schedule and will likely not lose again though the Hounds will put up a fight in the final week of the season. The Bandits gave my team a beat down before losing to the Pirates this past week. The stats were pretty close but no way to say that a 27-point win was a nail biter. The Bandits started slow against the Pirates and that proved to be their undoing. A 17-point loss is certainly not what outlaw121 and the Bandits had in mind but they proved in the 2nd half that they can play with the Pirates. They will need to find out a way to run the ball better against the good teams and unfortunately they won’t play anyone down the stretch to figure it out in order to win in the playoffs. They are in the WEBBB tourney and have a tough first game so perhaps they will use that game to work on their run game for the playoffs. They will blow out their next 6 opponents and roll into the playoffs.
Next game vs. #7 Washington Warriors

3. (4) Ireland Drunken Irish (49-7 Win vs. Chicagoo Bears)

7-2 (1-1 vs. Top 5)

The Irish appear to be hitting on all cylinders as we cross the half way part of the regular season. They will face two tough opponents in the next 2 weeks then cruise to the playoffs with no tough games down the stretch. The Irish are coming off of back-to-back big time wins vs. the Spartans and Bears. I think we all know that the Bears are not the cream of the league as they have fallen on hard times vs. tough opponents but beating up on the Spartans was a very impressive win for the Irish. The stats vs. the Spartans were very close but again the stats don’t tell the whole story as they won by 19 points. They held QB Tom Von Brady who is one of the leagues best to a 33 percent completion percentage. The Irish’s starting QB was also under pressure and had a bad game but Burress Hall was able to steady the ship and lead the team to a big win. They play the Trash Talkers tomorrow night in what should be a really good game and then they match up with the Pirates on Thursday night in what will be a great battle.
Next game vs. #5 EuroTrash Talkers

4. (3) Stafford Spartans (51-3 Win vs. Wolverhampton Wolverines)

7-2 (0-2 vs. Top 5)

Crushing the Wolverines was no surprise so we’ll focus their ranking on the upsetting loss to the Irish 2 games ago. I’ll say the same thing, which seems to be the theme of this weeks ranking which are that the stats were close but the score was not. Losing to the Irish wasn’t crazy as they are a good team but putting up 17 points was not what Diggzi had in mind. There Defense which had been great all year fell apart as they gave up almost 400 yards and nearly 40 points. We’ll see if the Irish just exploited a few problems that the Spartans had or if the Spartans just aren’t up to the task of beating the top teams. They have an easy match up tomorrow vs. the Snaps but then play 3 or 4 tough games in a row which will show us what the Spartans are really made of.
Next game vs. #10 Aalborg Snaps

5. (5) EuroTrash Talkers (59-20 Win vs. Glasgow Cats)

7-2 (0-1 vs. Top 5)

A solid win for the Trash Talkers vs. the Cats following a tough loss to the Bandits. Another tough game tomorrow night vs. the Irish that the Talkers need to win in order to really earn a Top 5 spot. Losing by 27 to the Bandits was not a good result and not what the Talkers wanted or thought would happen. The Cats game was a good bounce back for the Talkers as they beat up on a pretty good Cats squad by hanging 59 on them and putting up more than 600 yards of offense. QB TJ McMahon Jr. was not happy about throwing his 2nd INT of the season in the game and questioned BADAS$’s strategy to throw the ball so late in the game with a big lead. When reached for comment all BADAS$ had to say was “it’s the same play calling that has allowed him to throw for 37 TD’s, so you’re welcome.” Guess we’ll see if this has any affect down the stretch when the Talkers go up against some tough opponents.
Next game vs. #3 Ireland Drunken Irish

6. (6) Copenhagen Hounds (80-7 Win vs. Aalborg Snaps)

7-2 (0-2 vs. Top 5)

While the Top 5 teams were playing each other and planning for tough games the Hounds found themselves on cruise control winning the last 2 games by a combined score of 153-7!!! The Hounds play another cupcake game tomorrow night against an ok Sandlot squad before getting another shot at a top team in the Spartans on Thursday night. The Hounds have been improving and if they keep it up they could make some noise come playoff time. I’ll be very interested to see if the two headed monster in the backfield of Seth Stone and HereComes DaBus can run against the Spartans.
Next game vs. #11 Arlington Sandlot

7. (8) Washington Warriors (52-0 Win vs. Kickback Cavaliers)

5-4 (0-1 vs. Top 5)

The Warriors move up 1 spot by way of crushing their last two opponents by a score of 120-2. Good thing they won those two games since they are preparing for the worst on Tuesday as the Yorkshire Bandits come to town with a bad taste in their mouth from their first loss. The Warriors have a good handle on the 8th playoff spot and will need to hold off teams like the Snaps and Cats down the stretch. The Warriors will lose on Tuesday but they can all but clinch the last playoff spot if they can beat the Cats on Thursday.
Next game vs. #2 West Yorkshire Bandits

8. (7) Chicagoo Bears (7-49 Loss vs. Ireland Drunken Irish)

7-2 (0-2 vs. Top 5)

The Bears continue to fall down the rankings with bad losses or wins that are to close for a top team to have vs. average teams. This team will be in the playoffs but will need to figure something out in a hurry if they want to play with the big dogs of the conference. They have 2 easy games in a row then they are looking at 4 tough games in which they will be underdogs in each and could easily lose all 4 before ending the season against the Warriors who could battle them in the end as well. Easy win for the Bears on Tuesday night vs. the Wolverines.
Next game vs. #12 Wolverhampton Wolverines

9. (9) Glasgow Cats (20-59 Loss vs. EuroTrash Talkers)

2-7 (0-4 vs. Top 5)

The Cats have dropped their last 3 games and are really behind the 8 ball now in their attempt to make it into the playoffs. They were certainly going to have to play above their heads to beat the Spartans or Trash Talkers but they really thought they could beat the Bears and just didn’t pull it off and lost by 3 in OT. They can only afford one more loss, which they will get tomorrow night but then will need to win out if they want to make it into the post-season. They have been improving but hopefully for them the OT loss won’t be the game that costs them a playoff spot. Thursday night is the biggest game of the year as they go heads up against the Warriors and have to win that or they can start looking to season 8.
Next game vs. #1 Amsterdam Pirates

10. (10) Aalborg Snaps (7-80 Loss vs. Copenhagen Hounds)

4-5 (0-1 vs. Top 5)

Another team on the decline after a good start to the season. While their 4-5 record makes them look like they have a shot at the last playoff spot the real story is that they will get beat down by their next 4 opponents and miss out on the playoffs this season. They have played well at times this year but just haven’t been consistent enough. They will make the playoffs next season and could be a good surprise to some of the teams in this conference. Tomorrow nights game however will be ugly and they will probably get drummed by about 80 just like the Hounds did to them last night.
Next game vs. #4 Stafford Spartans

11. (11) Arlington Sandlot (36-28 Win vs. Artic Demon Santas)

2-7 (0-4 vs. Top 5)

After struggling through the teams first 7 games the Sandlot are riding a 2 game winning streak after crushing the CPU owned Berserkir squad and pulling out a win against the disappointing Santas squad. The Sandlot had less total offense then the Santas but caused 3 turnovers and returned 2 of them for defensive TD’s. They’ll need about 10 turnovers on Tuesday to beat the Hounds, which they won’t get and will likely lose by about 70 points.
Next game vs. #6 Copenhagen Hounds

12. (12) Wolverhampton Wolverines (3-51 Loss vs. Stafford Spartans)

2-7 (0-3 vs. Top 5)

While they did get smoked by the Spartans they can take away a small victory in that they did only allow 51 to one of the best teams in the conference. Perhaps the Spartans took it easy on them but that doesn’t seem to be their style so maybe the Wolverines took a step in the right direction for next season. They play a slumping Bears team tomorrow that will most likely handle them but if they can catch the Bears hanging their heads they could make a game of it. Most likely I see the Bears beating them by 30 and running the ball down their throats.
Next game vs. #8 Chicagoo Bears

13. (13) Artic Demon Santas (28-36 Loss vs. Arlington Sandlot)

2-7 (0-2 vs. Top 5)

The Santas have to be one of the most disappointing teams this season. While they weren’t great last year they appeared to be putting things in place for a nice improvement this season. After getting drilled by the Hounds two games ago 73-0 they followed that up with a loss to the Sandlot last night by 8 points. They have nothing good on their team at the moment but should pull off back-to-back wins vs. the Dong’s tomorrow then the Cavs on Thursday night, after that they will probably lose their last 5 guys and limp into season 8.
Next game vs. #14 PaPa Dong’s Dragon Farm

14. (14) PaPa Dong’s Dragon Farm (58-7 Win vs. Trondheim Berserkir)

1-8 (0-4 vs. Top 5)

In an unbelievable turn of events the Dragon Farm won a game!! Ok, ok it was against the CPU shit team of the Berserkir but a win nonetheless. They will have two more chances at wins this year when they play that Santas tomorrow night and then against the Cavs on the 26th, other than that they will get crushed in the other remaining games.
Next game vs. #13 Artic Demon Santas

15. (15) Trondheim Berserkir (7-58 Loss vs. Papa Dong’s Dragon Farm)

0-9 (0-2 vs. Top 5)

Ok, so they haven’t won a game yet and likely won’t but they have scored points in back to back games so things have to be looking up for the Berserkir and owner CPU lol. The game of the year will be tomorrow night when they play the Cavaliers. There is no love lost between these two teams and you can throw out all the records when these bottom dwellers meet up.
Next game vs. #16 Kickback Cavaliers

16. (16) Kickback Cavaliers (0-52 Loss vs. Washington Warriors)

0-9 (0-4 vs. Top 5)

No need to discuss the last two embarrassing games they played, for now it’s all about the Berserkir on a Tuesday night showdown. There is sure to be a lot of chatter in the league forum for this one. I have the Cavs actually putting a stop to their league record 23 straight losses and getting a W in this No Holds Barred match up.
Next game vs. #15 Trondheim Berserkir

Zeta Game of the Week-
#3 Ireland Drunken Irish vs. #5 EuroTrash Talkers. A big game for both teams as the Irish look to keep their winning ways rolling while the Trash Talkers look for their first real big win of the season.

This year we may/will have teams in and out of the top 5. The record vs. Top 5 teams will reflect your record vs. teams that were in the top 5 when you played them.

Awesome! Thanks again.

BTW, it's the Irish looking to keep their win streak, not the Pirates (game of the week paragraph).

..well, we also are looking to keep the streak...you know what I mean.

Fixed.

Thanks for the comments guys. I'll try to be a little faster with the next write up though it may depend on the outcome of my game vs. the Irish if I'm in the mood for it or if I'm a little pissed off, lol.

Should be a good game.
