Another interesting week is upon us, and this week also marks the halfway point of the regular season. Things should only become clearer from now on, and i doubt that the 2nd half of the year will be any lees interesting than the 1st.

Lion:

Seychelles Island Sea Wolves at Beltway Bandits
Seychelles are sitting firmly on the #1 spot in Lion, as even if they only lead by 1 game, they have tie breaker advantage against 4 of the 5 closest competitors. They hold the spot for at least 1 more week, as BB is in for a pummeling.
Sea Wolves wins big

Katanga Diamonds at Ethiopian Starvin' Marvins
Katanga have had it tough so far, and they need to start winning games if play-offs arent to slip out of their hands already. Last week showed a much needed win against BB, but they will have to perform a lot better to beat Ethiopia. The Marvins are fully in the fight for top spots still, and are sitting in #3 spot with a 6-1 record. This win is important to keep up with the other top teams, so we should see a focused Ethiopia team.
Marvins Big favorites

South African Bulls at Mozambique Starvin Marvins
Mozambique keeps up the high gear with a pounding of the Bulls
*Insert silly score*

Gabon Forest Dragons at Sahara ShadowChasersGAME OF THE WEEK
Both these teams are sitting at 5-2 records, and neither can afford to loose if they want to remain strong in the fight for top-4. Gabon suffered a close loss at the hands of MSM last week, and got booted from the 6-1 group, while Sahara won against Tijuana and have now won 2 in a row. The winner will keep the close proximity to the top, while the looser will be set back in the race for home field games. Very important game
ShadowChasers + HULK BLAZING = favorites

Jupiter Snipers at Fort Wayne Generals
Fort Wayne are looking good this year, and gets a bye week here to gather strength before the big match up against MSM next week.
200+ FW

Zimbabwe Beavers at Ivory Coast Diamond Hunters
Tied for the last play-of spot along with Cape Verde, both these teams know the importance of this game. A loss would mean a huge set back, and severely reduced chances of a play-off spot. The winner on the other hand will be in a really good position before the 2nd half of the schedule starts, and will have the confidence advantage as well.
Beavers slight favorites

Sun City Undertakers at Cape Verde Headhunters
Caper Verse wants to take full advantage of the fact that the Beavers and the Hunters are playing each other. A win here means moving past 1 of them in the table, and closer to the top half.
CVH Big favorites

Elephant:

Real Men of Genius at San Dimas Saints
The Saints are the only team in Elephant still undefeated, and they have already defeated a some really tough teams on their way to the #1 spot. A solid team in all regards, it will be hard for any team to knock them off if they continue to play as well as they have been. 2nd half of the season will be even tougher tho, so a win here would be very nice for San Dimas. RMoG are part of the very big field of 4-3 teams all battling to gain the edge on the competition. Last weeks impressive win against Kilimanjaro showed signs of the stable tough play they are known for, and hey could be more of a challenge to San Dimas than the records would indicate.
an Dimas favorites

High Plains Drifters at Kilimanjaro Sno-Caps
Kilimanjaro last a hard fought game against RMoG last week, and really need this win to get back on track and not fall behind. The Drifters beat the Asps last week as the first team this year. A very strong team, they currently look like the biggest challenger to San Dimas.
High Plains favorites

Cairo Cannibals at Tunis AspsGAME OF THE WEEK
Tunis lost their first game of the season last week to the Drifters, and don't want to start a regular loosing streak. A win here is therefore very important, as to not loose more ground to the #1 spot, and also to not let the big group of good teams currently 4-3 catch up. Cairo are one of the teams in this group, and they are hungry to move further up the table from the #6 spot they currently hold. Things are looking good for Cairo, as they have had the perhaps toughest schedule in Elephant so far, and are still fully in the race despite early problems. A very strong who have upgraded further before this season, and matched with their talented coaching staff, they are a force to be reckoned with.
No favorite

Gambia Diamond Cutters at Mozambique Thundercats
Gambia started out the season strong, but have lost 2 in a row, and seem a bit off their game. A great opportunity to get some confidence back in the squad here, as the Thundercats wont pose a challenge at all.
Gambia 255+

Casablanca Sultans at Mogadishu Malice
2 more teams from the 4-3 group slugging it out here, and both some of the biggest pre-season favorites. Both teams have simply been to inconsistent, but have also shown great strength and cunning in some games. Obviously, this is a super important game, and a loss isn't an option. Winner will go into the 2nd half of the season with a good placement, while the looser will have an uphill battle to regain what has been lost.
Mogadishu slight favorites

River Styx Jinx at Richmond Raiders
Richmond gets to beat up on the Jinx and make it a 4 game win streak before the important game against the Cutters next week.
Big win for Richmond

Boston Dogs at Kibwezi Choppaholix
Boston has its 1st game in a very tough streak of the schedule with 4 tough games in a row, and unless they start performing better, they could be very much in the red as far as record goes in a couple weeks. A win here against old AA#2 rivals Kibwezi would be huge, and it looks like a good time to strike. Kibwezi started out strong, but have lost 3 in a row, and look a bit shaken up atm. A win is a necessity today, and they don't want another loss in front of the home crowd.

Kinshasa Rumblers at African Arms Dealers
AAD won a great game against the Cutters last week, in perhaps the biggest upset of the season so far. They get an easy game to rest out on this week, and will need it before a tough game against RMoG next week
AAD gets an easy win

Got a feeling this game will come down to turnovers. They just barely lost their game, and we just barely escaped having a meltdown at the end of our game. Glad we are proving that we do belong here though, was a rough start for sure.

Thanks again for the write ups Minaras. It will be nice going into the 2nd half of the season at 4-4 after starting off 0-3. The damn holidays sucked for me in terms of GLB. Didn't have a chance to scout or change my AI those first 3 games. Now, i still probably would have lost those games but not as bad as the scores indicated.
