Being in first place is great, except for that huge ass target on your back

1. Angola Dream
The dream are having their Dream seaon right now. About Half way through the season with out a blemish on their record. They got wins over some quality teams but they haven't really been tested by the top tier teams yet. Their next 4 games are against projected playoff teams which is capped off with a road game against arguably the best team in Lion, The Cape Verde Kings. I think The Dream come out fairly unscathed but I doubt they finish the perfect season 16-0.

I have never been a fan of first place teams, You learn a lot more from a loss than a win... that's why Rocky won in Rocky II. YO ADRIAN!

2. Cape Verde Kings
I think this team started to belive their own hype and they got stunned by The White Rhinos in a 14 point loss. I think this is a good thing though. It lit a fire under this already hot team. This was the wake up call to leet this team know they have to bring their "A" game every game, and when they do play their best they can't be stopped. They bounced back the next game with a win over a very strong Monkeez team. If Cape Verde keeps brining the pain like this look out, It Will be like Hulkamania BROTHA.

3. South African Ridge Backs
This team has a very impressive win over Dar Es Salaam, but not much outside of that. They lost to a solid Lions team but they beat a rising bugeaters team. They might be ranked high because of their victories over both computer teams. This team could go either way but I'm banking that they stay in the top 5 of of these ranking for the rest of the season. There are no more easy game on their schedule but I predict they will stay competitive and come out on top.

4. Rwanda Royal Knights
Man, this team just knocked off a very hot KNR team. The teams they lost to are very good teams and they played them pretty close. I always say you learn more from a loss than you from a win and I think that will prove true with this team. They have a solid defense and always bring their best game to the table. With the emergence of power running this team is built to control the clock and win. They can keep explosive offenses off the field and have the speed on defenses to get off the field quickly.

5. Dar es Salaam Warrior Kings
I really like this team. They have played 5 games decided by 7 or fewer points. they are 3-2 in those games. thats not easy to do but those close games really help a team grow. No one learns anything from a blowout, but this team has plenty to look back on. Take this last game against The Zambia Lions, They stop them on 4th down, and have the ability to run out the clock and get that final first down to seal up the game. That's a sign of a true champion.

I don't know about you guys but I'm the youngest in my family. With 3 older brothers dinner time was always intense because you had 4 hungry boys all trying to get a good portion of food. Well these guy are all fighting for a playoff spot... and some one is gonna get left with just a chicken wing

6. Kalahari Night Riders
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. One APL agent refered to this team as Bi-Polar. Who exactly is KNR? 2 of their losses have come from teams with a combined record of 2-12... 2 of their wins have come against teams with a combined record of 8-6. Their schedule Is fairly balnced for the rest of the season. If this team makes it to the playoffs as a lower seed don't be surprised to seem them pull an upset. If they have a home game as a top 4 seed, don't be surprised to see them get upset.

7. Angola Spider Monkeez
Coming off 2 very tough losses this team has some very nice wins including victories over The White Rhinos and The Royal Knights. They lost the head to head against KNR by 18 points though. Then they had to feel the wrath of Cape Verde coming off their 1st loss. This Team will definately move up the ranks but they need tto get back on the winning streak first. They have The Tuscaloosa Bulls next which could make or break either teams season.

8. Windhoek White Rhinos
This team has dropped 3 of the last 4. But with wins over Cape verde and The Royal Knights combined with a 1 point loss to KNR that came on a 4th quarter late TD with less that 2 mins left. This team has had a fall from grace since their 3-0 start but they still have both CPU teams left on their schedule and the Outlaws left. Look for them to make a big push toward the playoffs.

9. Zambia Lions
3 of their 4 wins come against teams with losing records. Their record against teams with winning records... 1-3. This team is taking their lumps in APL, but I have no doubt this team will keep fighting through the season to make it to playoffs, but for right now they will be the team on the outside looking in....

It's all knowing what to start with. If you start in the right place and follow all the steps, you will get to the right end. Motivational Quote of the day Jan. 15

10. Tuscaloosa Bulls
I love this team and their Agents/Gms. it makes me happy to see this team starting a win streak. After a 1-4 start they have 2 wins over good teams. I know this team can bring it on the defensive side of the ball. My suggestion to the rest of the league is don't let this train get started because if they get hot you might not be able to stop them. With a win this saturday they could be on the right side of the win/loss stat.

11. Botswanna Bugeaters
2 game win against 2 winless teams. Nothing to brag about but this win streak could get the ball rolling for this struggling team. Their next 3 games are agaisnt teams all fighting for playoff spots. With a couple wins they can break some heart and maybe even propel themselves into the playoffs... thats right, you get in there and get the big piese of chicken... lol

12. Nigeria Nightmare
This team hasn't had an easy game, the bad thing is they haven't played well against some of the middle of the pack teams. The good thing is the have 5 games against teams with losing records left! With a couple upsets this team could easily have a winning record at the end of the day.

Tim Tebow is going back to college, and you guys don't get to draft anyone anyways!

13. Wolfenstein Werewolves
Your Only win is against KNR, which is a good win... but you lost to everyone else. Look to make some improvements on defense and get some play makers on offense.

14. Cameroon Outlaws
You beat the 2 CPU teams.... nice...Season 6 Pro League champs? how... i wasn't here but really?

15. Djibouti Jackals
I bet you can beat the surfers....

16. Charlie Don't Surf
Charlie don't playfootball either....

I was going to comment on how DD lost but i stumbled across something more intresting

Nomad_Hokie.... Hokiemon.... Coincidence... I THINK NOT! Everyone thought the DD guys were multis... but it was all a huge cover up for this. Looks like all those CSI episodes did pay off!

Camoroon won last season and then capitulated, they are currently a rebuilding project.

Thanks for the nice words for the Kings. We did some pretty funky things against the Rhinos, and gave up three big plays that really put us in a hole that game. We've made some adjustments, and feel like we are definately better prepared now!

Kalahari is like a teenager whose parents bought them a new mustang. They look good and can burn rubber and car vs car has the horses but just like a teenager you know they're just as likely to win a race from the stoplight as they are to eat a telephone pole.

good write up

Zambia will be perfectly fine...we will cause some headaches down the stretch

our 3 losses have come from teams that have a 17-4 combined record...at least I keep telling myself that....

Good job G as always.

I've said it from the beginning. Kalahari will win some games that turn some heads, and lose some games that will turn some heads. JB said it best. I really am enjoying the parity and competition. One wrong game plan and you lose.

Great read.

If in the NFL it's 'Any Given Sunday' then in the Lion Conference its 'Any Given Every Other Day Except for the 2 CPUs and the Rebuild.' Which isn't that catchy. Any unemployed slogan writers?
