SD's first power rankings of the season..
1.Montreal Rush(2-0)- This is my #1 team so far because they beat a very good Hurricane team and destroyed the awful Ovens. We will see how long they stay #1.
2.Kukamonga Monsters(2-0)-Always one of the top teams in the west. This team just beat the Blue, a surprise team who is very good. They currently are one of the best teams in the league.
3.Beefcake's Swords of Chaos(2-0)-Sure they have not played any god teams, but, wow, this team had a 32 game losing streak and has started strong. I like this team. All the stuff they have benn through and a 2-0 start is huge.
4.Edmonton Penguins(2-0)- These guys won 3 games last season and are off to a good start this season. They have had an easy schedule to start off and it wont get easier, but this team can surprise some doubters.
5.Axel Island Polar bears(2-0)-Despite being a cocky team, these guys have played 2 bad teams and have nothing to brag about yet. Despite that, i still expect them to contend for the title, but 2 wins over awful teams is nothing to brag about...yet.
6.Labatt Blue(1-1)-The best of the 1-1 teams because they beat a bad team and lost by only 3 points to the Monsters. They lost to the Monsters by 6 last year and always play well verse them and expect this team to do well this season.
7. British Columbia Blizzard(1-1)-These guys are this high because even though hard to imagine they are the only team in the western conference to have played 2 teams who both ahve a win so far. Despite low chemistry, they knocked of the Diamond Cutters by 10 points. They will need to fight hard to get in the playoffs, but expect them to.
8.Halifax Hell Reapers(1-1)-This team is this low because they have not played any great teams yet and they lost to the above average 916ers by 18.
9.Bosphorous Bridgekeepers(1-1)-Thse guys played very well vs the Icicles losing by 5 and they crushed the Rockets by 38. Don't expect them to get in the tournament this season, but they could make a run at a .500 record.
10.Yellowknife Diamond Cutters(1-1)-These guys havent impressed yet. Thye beat a bad artic team and lost to an above average Blizzard team. This team is pretty much a flip of a coin to get in. Their offense has many questions as the so-called "superstar" HB had 6 carries for 4 yards against the Blizzard defense.
11.Saskatoon Dream(1-1)-Always an average team that isnt very good or bad. They beat the Hackers, which was a surprise, but got demolished by a mediocre Reapers team.
12. Winnipeg Redwings(1-1)-Probably the worst 1-1 team you will find. They got smoked by Beefcake by 72 and give credit to Beefcake, but they still arent a world-class team. Winnipeg's only win was verse the cpu-ized DeepOnes. This team still has cpu on the roster, meaning they will not win many games.
13.Manitoba Warmegeddons(0-2)-I have said this about this team for a while. They continue to have high expectations and let people down. I have always said their defense sucks and through the first 2 games they have averaged scoring 10.5 points and giving up 71.5 a game. That is brutal for a decent team. They got manhandled by the "Fear the Current" 112-14. Owww!
T16. Regina Pocket Rockets,New England Powertecs,Dutch Ovens- These teams are all so pitiful, they would get turned down by the Detroit Lions. The Rockets at leats have some hope and compete a little, while the former Bismarck Bears playoff team, the Dutch Ovens, remain cpu and have had 2 owners since the offseason. )-16 for the Ovens
