Well Im sad to say that the Monks are going to be a casualty of Bort this season. We are a high percent rushing team as most of you know and with borts absolute destruction of the running game we are officially boned.

Congratualtions to all the pass heavy teams on what Im sure will be a superb year for you.

Could be worse...you could be a punt happy team. Now that's a nerf if I ever saw one.

Oh didnt you notice my level 20 punter went from a 45 yard average in scrim 1 to a 30 average last game.....if anything about punting could have been changed it was accuracy not distance. Anyone with a strong leg can boot a ball a long way ffs.

This season is wasted now for us. Im going to use it to forge a team for next season and maybe if im lucky scrape a playoff spot.

Georgetown is a rushing team as well. Or, at least we have been in the past. (Don't look at last season's stats. We played like 10 cupcakes.)

If you have a power back (Your HB has power through SA..) you should be running all over most teams. If you have an elusive back, you're not going to be able to run anything in the middle, but you can get lucky on some pitches.

I'm not so sure you got Borted as much as you got a HB that isn't properly built. He's either an elusive build with power SAs, or a pretty bad power build, to not be able to break any tackles in what is a horrendously broken power running system. Every good powerback I've seen is breaking tackles left and right. Even my crappy FB playing at HB on our inside rushes does decently.

Also, you didn't lose because we contained your running game. You lost because whoever sets up your defensive AI isn't very bright. You could have rushed for 300 yards and still would have lost that game with that defense.

I apologize that we didn't run up the middle out of the singleback like the Hookers did. We would rather let your ROLB cover one of our wideouts and laugh all the way to endzone.

I don't like excuses. You faced a team with 2 well built elusive backs, which we have relied heavily on the last 3 seasons, and you want to cry about being Borted? We got Borted much worse than you with your powerback. Adapt, and quit your bitching. Or, just come up with some excuses as to why you lose games, and don't look at your own GMs first. That'll work.

Edited....I know my power back is built well.

Did I say anything about our game? Did I say anything about winning it or the AI's or anything? No I merely stated that the team with the top rushing game in the league (which was a tougher league last season) this season cant make ANY headway at all with the running game for no reason other than borts changes.

Im well aware that I completely fucked up on my D AI. Im the idiot not one of my gms. But I wasnt talking about my defenceive screw up leaving only 2 CB's to cover your 3WR system all game. In fact I didnt mention our game at all did I.

I didnt make ANY excuses for losing a game...a game i didnt mention. My observations were based on all 4 of our games in which our running game has done nothing. Going from a 7ypc average to a 2ypc average as a team without changing tactics and playing weaker opponents......oh yea I must have done something wrong.

I might have messed up a setting on an AI and thrown the game (i doubt im the only person who has ever done that) but at least I can read messages and respond to what is actually posted. Next time try reading and thinking before you speak.

All I can read here are more veiled excuses for being outmatched.

Try game planning. You'd realize that running up the middle against our defense is not the smartest thing to do. You did well against the Hookers - 6.7 YPC for Plow. He'll have plenty more games like that. Just not against D-Lines like Georgetown has.

Power backs are having insane seasons, and still will after the latest changes. Elusive backs are having a rough time, though.

You sound like you're ready to give up after 2 "real" games, the second one where you faced a defense you've never seen, and came out with the entirely wrong mindset offensively. Work on it and Plow will still have a great season. He may get over 4 YPC, which will be perfectly fine in comparison to the other backs around the league. You can't expect 7 YPC this season. It's just not going to happen. Running every down is a thing of the past - and that's a good thing.

Where are my excuses? Im not saying that at all. I wrote an entirely new AI to try and compensate for our hard opening games and it didnt work how I hoped it would. It wasnt planned to run up the middle as much as it did but ive given up worrying about what the AI will do, its random after all.

Ive openaly admitted to everyone that I messed up on defence. I didnt spot the hole because the Hookers didnt play against it, you did and you exploited it, hat off to you thats a job well done.

If I hadnt left that wide open I think your score would have been a lot less, no I dont think we would have won, we have had to make too many untested changes to be saying that but I dont believe we are over 40 points worse than you.

I didnt spend last season running every down. Just a lot of them, about 75% in the end and we were the highest yar gains on rusing. Our passing was near the bottom. Personally I dont see why this needed to be changed so drastically? Rushing wasnt overpowered last season. We were top and only came 8th in a tough league.

As for your casual insults like 'try game planning' maybe you should look at the record ive had before you assume im just complaining about losing. Ive won plenty of games I shouldnt have last season and in previous seasons. I changed way too much against you guys and scrrewed up on defence through an accident.

Once again so youre clear. I am not complaining about the result of our game or making excuses for any particular result or outcome. All I am saying is that I spent 3 seasons building a team to do 1 thing really well in a design that I liked and now, for no apparent reason I have to completely redesign my team in a way I didnt want to play simply because bort altered things that didnt really need changing.

Beleive me there is far more in this game that is pusing me towards giving up than just losing 1 game to you guys.

See you in the playoffs

Fair enough. You're right, too. There's no way there's a 40 point difference in these teams. Georgetown had to change our whole mindset also. It probably helped that we had a ridiculously easy season last season (16-0, with 1 team giving us a real game - Lea Lea, who then beat us in the playoffs, and they were 15-1) and all we did against all the easy teams was work on our passing game, even though in the big games, we ran like we wanted to.

If this all pans out and you end up with good backs (power OR elusive) at around 4 to 4.5 YPC, I'll be happy. Mediocre backs should be around 3 to 3.5 YPC.

The only problem with those numbers, which are pretty realistic, is that the passing game is nowhere near that realistic. Those numbers would need to be toned down also... But then that leads to somewhat boring sims and 7-3 scores. There's a middle ground somewhere that Bort needs to find, but I doubt ever will. All we can do is adapt, and hope for the best, which may not be entirely fair, but it's all we've got.
