Season 7 is here a last!! After winning every game and dominating just about everyone they faced last year, West Scranton rightfully claims the top spot to begin another tough road to the Oceania Pro Championship game. Is another undefeated season on the horizon? Looking over the league, the competition continues to grow stronger. I want to send out a warm welcome to the nine new OPL teams. Congrats to the Prime Timers for making their first top ten! Good luck to all 32 teams this season!! USAPro, SAPro, SEAPro, and any others that OPro may challenge this year, this is what you have to look forward to...

Preseason Top Ten
1. West Scranton Invaders 180 (12)
2. Banzai Pipeline 'Nites 167
3. Mean Machine 155
4. Tonga Ikale Tahi 150
5. So Cal BDC 129
6. Brisbane Heat 110
7. Cascade Cajun Crushers 98
8. Orlando Prime Timers 76
9. Samoa Gangsters 58
10. Vanuatu Kava Sharks 56

Hiding In The Bushes
Cook Island Convicts 51, Mata-Utu Voodoo 50, Melbourne Thorny Devils 36, Fakaofo Bomb Squad 32, Brisbane Gods 30, Brantford Mustangs 26, Playboy's Players Club 24, Sth Queensland Crushers 20, Barossa Grapestompers 18, Papua New Guinea Cannibals 17, Aussie Cardinals 15 (1), Brisbane Bandits 14, Emerald City Flying Monkeys 13, Fiji Sea Turtles 11, Canberra Strike 9, Port Moresby Demons 8, Fiji Stingers 4, Jersey Wildcats 2

Dropped From The Top 10
-none-

Thirteen teams participated this week.
() denotes first places votes

Fun Facts: 28 of the 32 teams were represented in this weeks coaches poll... only one team was voted for on all 13 ballots (it wasnt WSI)... 50/50 split between Alpha and Zeta teams in the top 10 (9-6 favoring Zeta in top 15)... 2 team reps ranked the top 7 teams in the same order as is featured in the poll

I awarded a first place vote with 15 points, 2nd with 14, and so on down the line. In the event of a tie an average of the two scores was awarded (ie. tie for 2nd results in an 8.5 for both).

Thanks to all those who voted this week!!!

Who in their right minds voted for Aussie Cardinals at #1? That ballot, imo, should probably be thrown out because it's screwing up the rankings.

This should be a great season. Many very competitive teams coming up from AAA. I'd just like to know one thing? Who left us off the top 10 on ballot?

Good luck to all this season!

Quite obviously the same bozo who put the Aussie Cardinals 1st. I agree that ballots like that should be discounted.

To be fair... there are nine new teams up here (more than any other season if I recall correctly) and not everyone is familiar with which teams have been the top dogs up here and how the new teams fit into the equation. This is just the preseason though.

That said, there was one submission that was very different from the rest, but they even prefaced it with a comment that they were unfamiliar with the teams but wanted to starting participating. I thought about throwing it out but it really only has an effect on the 20-28 rank. Plus only 13 teams participated and I am certainly not going to turn anyone away or not accept a ballot because I dont necessarily agree with it. I am confident they will get a better grasp of the league if they havent done so already. Remember, if we had 20+ teams voting each week an outlier like this would have almost no effect.

I want to know what the only team to make every ballot was. My guess is either MM, BPN, or TIT. I have no idea how 2 of those 3 plus WSI could not be listed on a ballot (even with a GM who is not familiar with the OPL teams). That said, I do appreciate that the "odd" GM took the time to submit his ballot even though he was unsure of a lot of the teams here in OPL.

Woo! (guess I'm going to have to shake it up next time ... WS #15 should do the trick.)

The top 10 looks pretty solid, cant argue with those rankings. Very nice job everyone.

I cant believe that most of those teams would not be in everyones top 15 let alone only one...wow.

Also, in my personal rankings...I have Samoa Gangsters and VKS 2 spots higher, just behind the HEAT.

Also...what the hell! Why is everyone letting MTD fly under the radar?? GRR!! . This will not go unnoticed

Glad to see Orlando getting some early recognition. Hopefully we can help make Alpha a much more competitive conference.

I have to say I truly appreciate the recognition Orlando received. I didn't even vote us into the top 10.

Well, you earned it with a good win over a very talented Samoa team.

This is officially the season of the pass-rushing DT again.

Looks like Aussie is going to lose their number 1 vote!
