I have done predictions/Previews the last couple seasons in A and AA, and I'll be happy to this year as well, if no one else is. Only have 2 very "testy" scrimm's to go on with all the new changes, and don't know most the teams here very well, so bear with me in the beginning
I don't predict my own team's games, if anyone wants to do that 1 game they are ofc more than welcome
After the last 2 seasons of re-arranging the leagues, the top-tiers seem to be very very strong, with almost all the weak teams weeded out. This season looks to be a really good one as a result. Some great established teams that could be in Pro had a few things turned out differently, some teams from AA that feel they should have been in AAA long ago, and some of the best season 5 expansion teams all in one league makes promise of many great games each week.
Looking forward to playing you all
Tunis Asps at Jupiter Snipers
The Asps look like a really strong squad, and their pass offense have looked very strong in the 2 scrimmages. They lost a close game to the Beavers, but went on to demolish Tijuana in the 2nd game. Haven't been mentioned a whole lot, but they are a team to keep an eye on for sure. Jupiter is the Lion punching bag this season, and should be 0-16 unless something drastic happens.
Easy win for the Asps, probably by a silly amount
Real Men of Genius at Sun City Undertakers
Sun City got relegated from the Pro league last season, but seem to have gotten a decent roster together. Still needs some depth to hold their own in a strong league, but they are on the right track. Hard team to say anything about, we will just have to see how they fare. RMoG are a strong team in every aspect of the game, with a heavy focus on speed which they implement very well. Many have called them the best of all the season 5 expansion teams, and they are definitively at the very top. I have very big expectations for them this year, and they should be a top contender for a top-4 spot in Elephant. 16-0 and 14-2 in their first 2 seasons speaks for itself, and i dont think anyone will take lightly on the task of playing them.
RMoG big favorites
San Dimas Saints at Katanga Diamonds
San Dimas made it to round 2 of the play-offs last year, where they were sent out by later champion, DD. They can play really well when they are in gear, but seem to choke for no reason at times. Fans are hoping that this is the year for the Saints, and the play in the scrimmages have looked very promising. Destroying Beltway and beating E Marvins have raised the expectations, so lets hope the squad can keep up the good work. Katanga have spent4 seasons in AA, and are finally in AAA despite being sent out in the 2 round of the play-offs. They have a solid squad, and can both pass and run the ball very well. Both scrimmages was lost, but both opponents was teams projected to be at the very top of Elephant. If the coaching staff can get the tactics adjusted for the new league rules, they should do well this year.
Saints favorites
High Plains Drifters at Beltway Bandits
The Drifters had a good season last year, but it ended in round 1 with a loss at the hands of San Dimas. They look to have another good season, but it could prove hard to do better than last years 12-4 record. At this point, anything looks possible in Elephant tho, and they have the squad to play for the top spots. They just beat Beltway in a scrimmage 54-20, so no doubt as to who takes the favorite role here. They also beat the E Marvins in a tough defensive game in the 1st scrimmage, so things are looking good. BB has been beaten severely in both scrimmages, and are lacking players in vital positions. As things are now, they will be lucky to repeat last years 7-9 record.
Drifters hughe favorites
Gabon Forest Dragons at River Styx Jinx
Gabon are the runners up of last years AA#2, and look solid on all positions. They got a good beating by Kibwezi in the finals last year, but lost to them only by 3 in the 1st scrimmage of the season. They also lost their 2nd game against AA#1 runners up Richmond, and again it was a close game. They will be a challenge for any team here, and should have a good season. RSJ looks pretty solid, but was only a middle team in Lion last year. They have won both their 2 scrimmages to start the season tho, and even tho they arent favorites for a top spot, that could change very quickly. Should be a close game.
No favorite
Mozambique Thundercats at Ethiopian Starvin' Marvins
The Thundercats didnt make the play-offs last year, but looks to have recruited some good players, and this could be a better season for them. They beat Fort Wayne in a close game, and stomped the cpu heavy Bulls. Hard to draw too much from those games, but it's looking promising. They face the E Marvins, who are one of the projected favorites to win Lion this season. 2 losses in the scrimmages doesnt necessarily mean anything, but it could be signs of a little trouble for the coaching staff to re-adjust the team for the new league rules. Non the less, they look like one of the toughest teams in all the league, and are favorites against Mozambique in this one. Setups looks to be plentiful this season tho, so dont count out the Thundercats.
Ethiopia favorites
Kinshasa Rumblers at Seychelles Island Sea Wolves
The Sea Wolves are one of hottest outsiders for the Lion conference, and have shown great strength in their 2 scrimmages, defeating 2 very tough opponents. Their roster looks solid on all positions, and they should be a tough opponents for any team. They lost in round 1 of the play-offs to later conference champ Kalahari in a close game, and have good chances of making it further this year. Kinshasa are full of cpu's and inactives, and doesnt look to play any significant role this year. More or less a bye week for the Wolves
Sea Wolves win by a silly amount
Fort Wayne Generals at Gambia Diamond Cutters
Fort Wayne didnt make the play-offs last year, but looks to have a pretty solid team, with good depth at all positions. 2 losses in the scrimmages isnt the best start, but they shouldn't be counted out. Their loss to the Thundercats was a very close one too. Gambia moved up from AA#2, where they made it to round 2 of the play-offs last year. They seem to have added a good deal of high lvl players, and the roster looks very solid. A win and a loss against 2 other promoters dosnt tell too much, but they are not a team to be taken lighly for sure.

Cape Verde Headhunters at Kibwezi Choppaholix
This should be a really good game. Cape Verde made it to their conference final in AA#1 last year, and are looking in better shape than ever. Their spectacular passing game was displayed nicely against the Boston Dogs, who was sent home with a big 59-28 loss, where the D also showed that they can make the big plays on more than one occasion. The other scrimm was a close loss to RMoG, but the play looked solid in that one also. Good coaching staff and a solid roster. Kibwezi are the reigning AA#2 champions, and one of the top favorites for Elephant this year, and looking at their roster you can see why. Only 1 game from a perfect season last year, the record is gonna be hard to match this year. Kibwezi is one of the teams up for the task tho, and they are gonna be very interesting to follow. They have beat 2 solid teams in the scrimmages, and doesnt look to plan on slowing down anytime soon.
Kibwezi as slight favorites
South African Bulls at Casablanca Sultans
The Sultans have upgraded the squad for this season, and have announced that they expect to finish #1, much to the excitement of the fans. They beat Fort Wayne with a good performance, and destroyed the cpu Bulls they also play in this game. If the USA Pro players can help bring the gold home, only time will tell. As far as this game goes, get ready for another 200+ win
Sultans win, obviously
Kilimanjaro Sno-Caps at Ivory Coast Diamond Hunters
IC made it to their conference final last year, and are one of the few season 5 teams to both make it here, and keep most their original roster intact. All positions look to have solid depth, and they have proved able to play great football. Both scrimmages was lost, and the coaching staff will have to straighten out things to have a chance in this game. Adaptability is more important than ever this year, and it could determine BOTH IC's and many other teams season result. Kilimanjaro is another team who didnt make the play-offs last year, but are hoping for a better result with the toughest teams now in Pro. Doesn't seem to have changed much on the roster, and the scrimmage games doesnt tell much. Interesting team with a high potential, if they can live up to it we will have to wait and see.

Sahara ShadowChasers at Richmond Raiders
Richmond were runners up in AA#1 last season, and are a strong team that shouldn't be underestimated. With a good deal of former Canada Pro players, mixed with some younger talent, they are solid in all areas of the game. They can both pass and run the ball very effectively, and so are very hard to scout. They are one of my favorites for a top-4 spot in Elephant, and with Khari Jones leading them on, anything is possible. Sahara is a settled AAA team, and have done really well in the 2 scrimmages against 2 good teams. They got beat in round 1 of the play-offs last year, and are eager to improve that performance this year. And with a TE called (HULK) (ARRRGGGHH), who am i to disagree.
Richmond as slight favorites
Mozambique Starvin Marvins at Cairo Cannibals
M Marvins, just like the E Marvins, are one of the projected top teams o Lion, not to say the league, this season. They have already announced that last years 11-5 record is to be improved this year, and nothing less of a spot in the league final will appease the fans. Strong, solid team both on roster and coaching, they should have a good season. Cairo have recruited a good deal of higher lvl players for this season, and most the original season 5 team is now gone. They seem to have recruited wisely tho, and are looking stronger than ever. They have lost both their scrimmages in close games, but its just a matter of them getting into gear. Always a dangerous opponent to face, none should taker lightly on the task of playing them.
Seen as the same game was just played, and Marvins won, they take a slight favorite role in this one.
Tijuana Thundercats at Boston Dogs
The Dogs lost to Kibwezi in their conference final last season, and are hoping to get revenge this year. First they have to get through a number of other tough opponents tho, starting with Tijuana. They have lost both their scrimmages, and the latest was a big 31 pts loss that isn't suit the fans(You know what Boston fans are like). They have a good team with very big depth at most positions, which is one of their strengths. Tijuana looks like a possible bottom 8 team in Elephant, with big losses in the 2 scrimmages and only 7 wins last year. Doesn't look like much recruiting has been going on, so will be interesting to see if they can improve the record.
Boston as Big favorites
African Arms Dealers at Zimbabwe Beavers
The Beavers have been here sine winning their AA league in season 3, and a very much wanting to finally go to the Pro's. With the toughest teams promoted this year, they should have a good chance. Haven't been mentioned much, but they have looked good in both scrimmages, and the roster is solid. Could be the "dark horse" of Lion. Last season didnt lead to play-off participation, and the fans are demanding better results this year. AAD is one of the season 5 teams who have made it here in only 2 seasons, and that alone is impressive. Even with the new promotion rules. 3 of their 4 losses came against Kibwezi and Boston, so they will look forward to those games in particular. They have a very tough starting schedule, and it will determine a big part of their season end result in these games. Squad is looking good, and coaches are competent. Hard to say anything for sure, but the potential is definitively there.
