Parab00n's inaccurate Power Rankings - Preseason Edition

This is my first attempt of doing a serious type Power Rankings so bear with me as I get everything in order and hopefully a better perspective of each team. Hopefully I am able to do one of these every couple days, in the past I haven't had a lot of time but we'll see if I can maintain it this season.


Preseason Power Rankings: Season 7

1. Lake Opeta Legionnaires 0-0
Last Week: -

LOL has been the class of APL since the beginning with 3 League Championships and a Conference championship last season. During the offseason they looked to improve there WR corps and signed Eye Catchdaball - 43 WR, a burner who racked up over 1400 yards receiving last season. LOL ended last season with the 3rd best overall Offense and the 2nd best defense.

Season 7 Prediction: 15-1

2. The Last Gunfighters of Texas 0-0
Last Week -

TLGOT a rushing powerhouse who finished last season with the #1 Offense and Defense, however fell short to LOL in the playoffs. The field one of the best, if not the best, DT's in all of APL in Bukka White - 39 DT. TLGOT has very good depth at every position besides SS and TE and will look to finally win it's first League championship this season.

Season 7 Prediction: 14-2

3. Doinitin Djibouti 0-0
Last Week -

DD enters APL on a 26 game winning streak and another rushing attack for Elephant conference DC's to deal with. DD's weakness over the past few seasons has been the passing game so to sure that up in the Offseason DD brought in Sticky Palmz - 40WR and Bad Tackle - 42 OT. DD begins the season with a tough test at Botswana, if they get passed that look for them to continue there win streak for a few games.

Season 7 Prediction: 14-2

4. Sierra Leone Stallions 0-0
Last Week -

SLS ruined TLGOT's bid at a perfect regular season with a excellent defensive gameplan. SLS doesn't garner the attention of some of the other teams in Elephant conference, however they are solid on both sides of the ball. Like other top teams this offseason SLS went out and pulled in a big time WR Like Velcro - 42 WR.

5. Congo Cripplers 0-0
Last Week -

If the entire Crippler team had stayed together from last season they would have been behind only LOL in my power rankings. Owner Rjssob lost a lot of depth on the defensive side of the ball during the offseason and so far he hasn't been able to fill those spots. Sadly for Congo, they have a very tough schedule to begin the season. We'll see if Congo can hang with the elite of Elephant with such little depth this year or if they are forced to bring in more talent as the season goes along.

6. Gold Coast Corsairs 0-0
Last Week -

GCC is yet another dominant rushing attack in Elephant as well as a very strong defensive team. They ended last season with the 5th best offense and 4th best defense. They lack depth in certain areas of there team including LB, DT, DE, and TE. GCC looks to improve on last seasons performance as they started running out of gas towards the end of the season losing 3 of there last 5.

7. Angola Blood Diamonds 0-0
Last Week -

ABD looked to improve there offense in the offseason in hopes of improving on the leagues 20th overall offense last year. They have very good depth at every position, however have some quite a few inactive players I'm sure they hope return after the holidays. ABD has an amazingly tough schedule to start the season and a very good matchup with KNR during the interleague games. If ABD can come out of the first 8 games 4-4 they should be in good shape of making the play-offs.

8.Ghana Buffalos - 0-0
Last Week -

This may be a suprise to some of the existing APL teams, however Ghana is an extremely talented team who would possibly have a couple championships if it wasn't for DD. What they lack in the scouting bars department is completely made up with the great gameplanning by the team leadership. Look for Ghana to lose a couple that they shouldn't and shock a couple teams that overlook them.

9. Cairo Emperors 0-0
Last Week -

I'm sure Cairo isn't that happy with where I ranked them, however they went 11-5 last year in what was a weaker conference compared to this year. Cairo has a favorable schedule for about the first 6-7 games, however the middle of there schedule is where it gets tough. Cairo will need to start at least 6-2 to have a shot at the play-offs.

10. Somalia Pirates 0-0
Last Week -

Somalia a 10-6 playoff team from last season made just a couple changes during the offseason so I don't think there record will improve this season. Somalia has a pretty tough schedule to begin the year and they'll need to pull a few upsets if they have plans on making the playoffs this season.

11. Babylon Bombshells 0-0
Last Week -

BB essentially crashed and burned to finish last season in which knocked them out of the play-offs. They drew a tough match-up during inter league play and have a pretty brutal first 10 games. With a couple upsets they possibly could be in the play-off hunt, but I don't see it.

12. Cleveland Bombers 0-0
Last Week -

A play-off team just last season, however they thrived on the lack of depth Elephant provided. They were manhandled by the truly elite teams last season and I look for a repeat performance this season. After a tough 4 game stretch to begin the season, they have a favorable schedule.

13. UN Peacekeepers 0-0
Last Week -

UN has a very solid squad and it wouldn't shock me to see them make the play-offs. I just don't really have a good measure on them as they haven't ever won a championship nor really beat any great teams I'm familiar with. They were nice enough to play us in a scrimmage last season and have a very respectful ownership. Hopefully I'm wrong about them, however I will make them prove that they are better than old guard of APL before I push them higher.

14. Buckeye Nation 0-0
Last Week -

Buckeye Nation is a team I feel very shaky about ranking this low as they could easily make me look foolish this coming season. However, with a couple blowout losses to Zambia and a blowout loss in a scrimmage vs the Bulls I don't see them being able to compete this season. They will avoid relegation due to the fact that there are 2 very bad teams left in Elephant. Big shout out to Brutus though!

15. Ghana Rhea Infection 0-0
Last Week

Once a dominant force, it looks like GRI has called it quits. At lest they'll win 1 game this season...

16. Durban Donkeys 0-16 - Just going to fill it in now

Wasting space in a Pro League....

DISCLAIMER: Just my opinions and i may be completely wrong on every single pick, however the forum is basically dead so hopefully this will help liven it up some. Hell, the win-loss totals probaly don't even add up conference wide...

Great job, I am hoping our lack of defensive depth is compensated with some great builds and a high powered offense! I see UN surprising more than a few people and would think that 1 and 2 are right on! I'll take Congo over the double D's this season in a game that actually counts!

At least you didn't act like DD will go 16-0 and destroy everyone.

I think UN is better than I originally thought. You guys surprised me in your playoffs last season.

As far as DD, our last 4 games are brutal, but at least it gives us time to work out some kinks hopefully. Got to get as much testing possible done in the preseason.
