Looking at the competition in this league and in my USA AA league team, I have to say that the 2nd season of the new advancement stuff has really worked well. There aren't really any games for either team that I'm looking at as being easy (except now the Thrashers, but what can you do?). Needless to say, I can't wait to get this stuff started. No more inflated stats, no more league punching bags.

Good luck everybody, we're all going to need it!

Yeah definitely. I just started a WR and was looking through the WR forum and saw this guy who had great stats throughout the season with his WR. Turns out that team passed like 100% of the time. The league wasn't that competitive. And I couldn't tell if his build was good or if it was just a product of the system and the league.

Really looking forward to even competition throughout. Should let the truly good players shine.

I have to agree with this. There are no real cream puffs. The difference between top and bottom will truly be game planning, as it should be.

I don't know. I really don't like parity. I can see us all finishing 8-8. I hate the any given sunday thing. I think having a powerhouse to shoot at is a good thing. A cupcake every now and then isn't so bad ether. It let's you relax a little before the next pressure cooker game. We are all pretty equal personnel wise and I don't think many of us would be here if we didn't know how to game plan. So we come back to the any given sunday thing and a bunch of 8-8 teams. I see three teams that might be considered favorites and the rest of us are going to be between 9-7 and 7-9. I just don't see what is so great about that.

Hey I would rather be in a league where the last playoff spot is an 8-8 team instead of a 11-5 team. That show parity and you have to sweat and plan for every game (no giveme's). I don't know about you guys, but when i play those even teams my stomach starts to knott up before every game, my hand begins to sweat. I start to over game plan. If we win its relieving and when you loss its a big disappointment. Thats is how coaches suppose to feel before and after every game. I coach for three years and it feels the same way with this game.

The thing about partiy is this, there is always a chance. Always a chance the other team beats you, but always a chance you pull one off and win. When you're use to being a powerhouse, that seems unappealing to some. When you're use to being dominated, that chance is very appealing to others.

Yeah, I was fortunate to be on a team that was fairly good in BBB9 but for me it isn't as much fun if I don't think the other team has a chance. In this league, looking at the other teams be they mean equal levels or competent higher levels, I hope that we have a chance.

"Any given sunday" my team might pull off a win and I am grateful for that.

Are you more of a college football fan (vice a NFL guy)?

Because I feel the same way and am a college football fan. I liked having the powerhouse team to shoot for in our first season and liked being shot at our second season.

When every game is "just another game" its not as exciting. I like the anticipation leading up to the LSU or UGA game even when we're a couple of weeks out instead of staring down a couple of middle of the road teams every week. (I don't say middle of the road like everyone is bad, I mean when everyone is pretty good, we're all average in the end....)

Right !! It's the anticipation of the big game! Even if your team is the underdog. The upset is great to even if it's your team being upset. Any given sunday is great then. Parity means all the teams are equal. No matter how great they all are in the end they are all average, bland, vanilla teams. 8-8 is great for the last playoff spot ? what about the first spot to? In a league of equal shouldn't the best also be 8-8. I looked forward to playing UG and Tripple B last season. They were the giants and to beat one of them ( which I almost did ) would have been great. I also looked forward to playing the Care Bears ( a cupcake ) to because it was a chance to put the game plans away and just let my plays play. There won't be any big games in this league until week 8 or 9 when some team looks like it might pull ahead of the pack and maybe finish 10-6. I'm just not a big fan of parity.

There is still going to be good teams and bad teams. We are all looking through the teams and everyone has even levels, except for a few so it looks pretty even right now. It is all going to come down to player builds and game planning. There will be a couple of teams that rise to the top and a couple that settle to the bottom. But, the days of the gimme game are over for this league. Gimme games suck! They are great for stat padding but you know going into the game that a "W" is a sure thing. It is more fun when you don't know the outcome before the game is played. IMO.

Well enjoy Parity while you can, for next season it will be gone ( thank god ). All of the crap teams from canadian leagues have been dumped into the league below us. More will be dumped there at the end of this season. Some of those poor unfortunate teams will be coming up here at the end of the season to find a league of teams far above theirs. Just as the teams from this league that move up will find a AA league full of teams far above theirs. Parity won't last long!

Parity might not even be here this season. You never know how things are going to turn out. From my experience you can take your feelings before the season and just toss them out the window once have the season is complete. Everything winds up being different than expected. I think this is the season when we have an 8 seed with a losing record. I say the 8 seed will be 7-9 and yet squeak into the playoffs.

I was hoping schedules would have been out. Would have been real happy if ticket sales had been processed. I thought preseason games were supposed to start tomorrow.

Man I am looking forward to the Rum Runners possibly competing this season. I know we are similar to the team that went 16-0 last season in the BBB's since we slow build also and we well didn't compete since people were so much better in A5 last year but now it seems the league is a bit more even. Good luck all hope to have a great competive season with all of you.
