I could use some help doing these, so if any of the owners/GM's or even people on the team could PM me what you thought went right and wrong in your games (like what I've done here), it would save me a bunch of time. Thanks
Disclaimer: I am the owner of the New Brunswick n00bs and this is only my opinion based upon how the teams looked when I saw them
1. Waco Davidians
2. Denver Pirates
3. Oakland Wizards
4. Hartford Hellhounds
5. Bel Air Beardogs
6. Las Vegas Stunners
7. Dallas Red Raiders
8. Spicewood Longhorns
9. New Brunswick n00bs
10. Scottsdale Sun Demons
11. Portland Hitmen
12. Miami Cyclones
13. RGB Berzerk
14. Chicago Clams
15. Grand Haven Mists
16. Ambridge Brigade
1. Waco Davidians - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1220
What went right: Offensive Line – With 31 pancakes, paving the way for 3 rushing TDs and not allowing a sack. The offensive line demolished Miami’s defense and allowed the offense to take over the game.
What went wrong: Kicking – Once again, the kicker missed two more field goals. Waco should be fine for the near future, but the kicker’s kicking woes could be problematic later on.
Recent Game: W 35-0 vs Miami
Record: 5-0
Previous Rank: 1
Next Game: at Las Vegas Stunners
2. Denver Pirates - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1212
What went right: Run Defense – They’re the first team to effectively deal with Greg Martin. Forcing him into his lowest production of the season as well as forcing him into 3 fumbles, the Pirates were able to stop New Brunswick’s offensive weapon.
What went wrong: Special Teams – With a punt that was fumbled and eventually leading to 3 points as well as a missed FG by their kicker, Denver almost gave away the game. Thankfully for them, their defense and offense did just enough to escape the game.
Recent Game: W 14-6 at New Brunswick
Record: 4-1
Previous Rank: 2
Next Game: at Hartford Hellhounds
3. Oakland Wizards - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1210
What went right: Defense – Not getting pancaked, 8 TFLs, 4 hurries, 1 INT, no points allowed and holding the opponent to 63.5 yds of total offense is definitely proof of a dominant defense. The clams were pretty much stuck on their side of the field for the majority of the game with no hope of scoring.
What went wrong: QB? (missed tackles) – I seriously needed to comment that you probably shouldn’t put in a QB whose name is Hellen Keller. Call it karma or whatever, but when you name a QB Hellen Keller, you can’t be surprised when she goes 0/8. Now, more seriously, 7 missed tackles could be a problem for Oakland if they face opponents who are going to be more competitive with them.
Recent Game: W 33-0 at Chicago
Record: 4-1
Previous Rank: 4
Next Game: vs Grand Haven Mists
4. Hartford Hellhounds - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1216
What went right: Pass Offense – While the passing game didn’t score any touchdowns, they had an absolutely efficient passing offense with a completion rate over 70% and no dropped passes by their wide receivers. This of course was aided by an O-line that absolutely demolished the Mists’ defense. If they can keep this performance up, they could be a very dangerous team to face.
What went wrong: Kicker – Missing 27.5 yd and 31 yd field goals is pretty detrimental if you’re in a close game. Fortunately for the Hellhounds, the game wasn’t that close and they were able to live with the kicking gaffs.
Recent Game: W 20-0 vs Grand Haven
Record: 4-1
Previous Rank: 5
Next Game: vs Denver Pirates
5. Bel Air Beardogs - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1224
What went right:Kicker – After going 1 for 4 in the previous game, the kicker went 3 for 3 and was the only person to score points in this stunner. Hitting 2 FGs from 35 yds out was very impressive and showed the necessity of a good kicker.
What went wrong: Pass Offense – Going 15/42 in pass completion is not going to cut it against a decent team. On top of that the receivers dropped 3 passes. Bel Air needed the passing game to make some big plays, especially in the red zone. But as they got into the red zone, it seemed that all their passes were incomplete or dropped.
Recent Game: L 9-10 at Spicewood
Record: 4-1
Previous Rank: 3
Next Game: vs Dallas Red Raiders
6. Las Vegas Stunners - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1219
What went right: Run Offense – Once again, Las Vegas just pounded the ball and Portland couldn’t handle it. Gaining over 300 yds on 55 plays (5.5 yd/carry average), Las Vegas’ balanced running attack was just ridiculous.
What went wrong: Pass Offense – While their passing accounted for 3 of their TDs, a 40% pass completion rate is a bit low. Aided by 4 dropped passes, the Stunners’ could be in trouble if they face someone who can shut down their running game.
Recent Game: W 34-3 at Portland
Record: 4-1
Previous Rank: 7
Next Game: vs Waco Davidians
7. Dallas Red Raiders - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1217
What went right: Run Offense – This game was ridiculous, but it was hard to overlook the 37 broken tackles that the Red Raiders’ running back contingent accrued. With a 5.8 yd/carry average (and aided by an O-line that had 46 pancakes), the Red Raiders could have just run it all game long.
What went wrong: Receivers – On an otherwise efficient passing day, the Red Raiders dropped 5 passes, which in this game was no big deal. However, if they’re in a closer game, those dropped passes could be momentum killers.
Recent Game: W 70-0 vs Ambridge
Record: 3-2
Previous Rank: 8
Next Game: vs Bel Air Beardogs
8. Spicewood Longhorns - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1215
What went right: Defense – They held Bel Air to under 3 yds/offensive play in this grind-it-out game. On top of that, the defense stepped it up in the red zone to limit Bel Air’s points, which was the difference in the end.
What went wrong: Pass Offense? – Honestly, the Longhorns played an all-around solid game, but their pass offense was a little scratchy. Completing less than 50% of their passes, the Longhorn QB’s did what needed to be done to win, but might need to step up more in other games.
Recent Game: W 10-9 vs Bel Air
Record: 3-2
Previous Rank: 10
Next Game: at Scottsdale Sun Demons
9. New Brunswick n00bs - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1214
What went right: Receivers – Amazingly enough, the passing game did a respectful job this game due in large part to the n00bs’ receiving corp. With no dropped passes, the receivers showed that if New Brunswick has to rely on the passing game, there are reliable options available.
What went wrong: Red Zone Defense – The n00bs’ defense was never really able to clamp down in the red-zone and allowed Denver to get TDs instead of holding them to FGs. Ultimately, that was the difference in this hard-fought game.
Recent Game: L 6-14 vs Denver
Record: 3-2
Previous Rank: 6
Next Game: at RGB Berzerk
10. Scottsdale Sun Demons - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1225
What went right: Offensive Line – The O-line had 38 pancakes and kept the QBs unhurried and unsacked, which is what you ask for in an O-line. They imposed their will upon the RGB defense to the tune of 388 yds of offense.
What went wrong: Missed Tackles – With 13 missed tackles, it’s amazing that RGB didn’t score on them more. They’ll have to make sure they wrap-up their tackles against tougher competition.
Recent Game: W27-2 at RGB
Record: 2-3
Previous Rank: 11
Next Game: vs Spicewood Longhorns
11. Portland Hitmen - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1211
What went right: QB play – Despite being harassed all game (6 hurries, 3 sacks), and having the receivers drop 5 passes, the QB’s still managed to put up a decent 50% pass completion rating and accounted for all their offense. Unfortunately, they couldn’t string enough plays together to do much damage.
What went wrong: Run Offense – Being held to 5.5 yds of run offense on 19 plays is pretty bad. Although this stat is skewed because of the QB being sacked, it is still a paltry display. The running game is most essential for short down situations and if you don’t have a reliable run game, gaining first downs can be a real problem.
Recent Game: L 3-34 vs Las Vegas
Record: 1-4
Previous Rank: 9
Next Game: at Ambridge Brigade
12. Miami Cyclones - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1955
What went right: Forced Turnovers – They faced arguably the best team in the conference and forced them into 2 turnovers. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to take advantage of the turnovers, but Miami’s opportunistic defense showed that it could cause trouble for any team out there.
What went wrong: Missed Tackles – 16 missed tackles is not going to cut it when you face a team like Waco. The extra yardage gained from those missed tackles just added insult to injury for an already overwhelmed Miami defense.
Recent Game: L0-35 at Waco
Record: 1-4
Previous Rank: 12
Next Game: vs Chicago Clams
13. RGB Berzerk - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1223
What went right: Johnny Awooga – After a dismal performance in his last game, RGB’s running back dominated once again with a 6.4 yd/carry average and 13 broken tackles. Unfortunately, he only got the ball 14 times.
What went wrong: Missed tackles – With 10 missed tackles, the defense allowed Scottsdale to tag on even more yards to their runs and catches. They will not be able to continue doing this if they hope to move up in this conference.
Recent Game: L2-27 vs Scottsdale
Record: 1-4
Previous Rank: 13
Next Game: vs New Brunswick n00bs
14. Chicago Clams - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1218
What went right: Front 7 – The front 7 did a very admirable job against a much better opponent in Oakland. They had 9 TFLs, which is pretty amazing. Unfortunately, the Wizards were too much for them to handle.
What went wrong: Offense –Again…63.5 total yards in a game is pretty bad. With this offensive futility, Chicago could have trouble winning another game.
Recent Game: L0-33 vs Oakland
Record: 1-4
Previous Rank: 14
Next Game: at Miami Cyclones
15. Grand Haven Mist - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1222
What went right: Linebackers? – The linebackers accounted for the 4 TFLs that the team had and did a very admirable job against a very balanced Hartford team.
What went wrong: Pass Offense – It’s not a good thing when the pass completion rate is less than 33%, especially when more than 75% of the plays are pass plays. They will need to work on this part of their game in order to rack up some wins.
Recent Game: L 0-20 vs Hartford
Record: 0-5
Previous Rank: 15
Next Game: at Oakland Wizards
16. Ambridge Brigade - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1221
What went right: Kick/Punt Return – It’s sad that it’s a CPU player, but the return guy did a decent job with a KR avg of 29.1 yds and a PR avg of 13.3 yds
What went wrong: Run Offense – Gaining negative yards is never a good thing. With 7 TFLs and no broken tackles, the Brigade’s runners just had a hard time going forward.
Recent Game: L0-70 at Dallas
Record: 0-5
Previous Rank: 16
Next Game: vs Portland Hitmen
Offensive Player of the Week:
HB The Kraken Dallas – 139.5 yds (7.8 yd/carry), 3 TDs, 13 broken tackles, 0 TFLs
Defensive Player of the Week:
DT Tubby Tank Denver – 6 Tackles, 2 Forced Fumbles, 3 TFLs, 0 missed tackles.
Special Teams Player of the Week:
K Mikey Black Bel Air – 3/3 on FGs (17.5 yd, 35 yd, 35.5 yd)
Games of the Week:
#6 Las Vegas vs #1 Waco
Las Vegas will try to knock down Waco from their perch atop the standings in another good showdown.
Prediction: Waco’s run defense will be too much for Las Vegas to handle.
Predicted Score: 23-0 Waco
#4 Hartford vs #2 Denver
In a clash of 4-1 teams, this will be a close game that could be decided on field position, who makes the bigger plays and whose kicker will step up to the plate.
Prediction: In a nail-biter, I predict that Hartford will win with the kicker gaining redemption after he had a sub-par game.
Predicted Score: 16-13 Hartford
#5 Bel Air vs #7 Dallas
After suffering a brutally close first loss, Bel Air is hoping to bounce back, while Dallas is hoping to prove that its overtime win over Las Vegas wasn’t a fluke.
Prediction: This will boil down to whose offense functions more effectively. Both teams have gone through some close games, but I believe Bel Air hasn’t been outplayed yet and I don’t believe this is the game in which it’ll happen.
Predicted Score: 24-14 Bel Air
#10 Scottsdale vs #8 Spicewood
This game will go a long way in determining who’s in a good position to make the play-offs and who could be on the outside looking in at the end of the season.
Prediction: Spicewood proved that it could make big plays and step up when it needed to. Against Scottsdale, they’ll need all the help they can get, but they’ll be able to pull it out.
Predicted Score: 21-17 Spicewood
Current “Game of the Week” Record: 1-3
