At least there's Christmas in a few days so I'll be getting drunk with some of the family after the family dinner. There's UFC 92 on the 27th. And then there's New Years where I'll again get drunk.

So, how is everyone else spending the off-season?

Just to let you know I hate all of you that can enjoy the holidays as I'll be spending Christmas and my birthday here in Iraq.

Yeah it sucks, its gonna be even longer this year because of Christmas and New Years

Atleast we know we'll probably get that offseason flex, maybe christmas flex and New Years flex

I've lost some many holidays/birthdays etc from being deployed it's not even funny. I'm to the point where even when I'm home I stopped thinking of those "special" days as anything other then a regular day....

Yeah I hope you guys get to come home - for good. It's too bad we're in the shape we're in. Obama says he has a troop-reduction plan, so we'll see what happens.

My personal belief is that it'll end up getting worse, but hopefully I'm wrong.

If you ever listened carefully his troop reduction plan is based off the recommendations of commanders on ground. None of them will really be saying they need less people.
