Alpha's #1 seed vs Zeta's #4 seed
Don't let the seeding fool you, as the two best teams in Season 6 from Western Europe A-5 square off for bragging rights on their respective ways to AA ball. Warsaw brings a stellar defense and an equally impressive offense to the championship game. Amsterdam is just one of those very solid ball clubs that has weapons all over the field and can make a close game a blow-out before you know it.
Warsaw made the most of its 4th seed as they throttled the Bocs in round one. The Wolves then got their revenge on Chuck, who had just destroyed the Wolves earlier in the season, as they beat them in round two. Warsaw then laid the hammer down on Hollywood in the Zeta Championship for their ticket to the title game. They played precision and power football for three games, and expect their journey to include one more trophy.
Amsterdam toyed with their first round opponent and beat Baton Rouge to move on in the playoffs. The Admirals then exacted their own revenge on the Marauders of Shetland with a great win in round two. Amsterdam then relied on their solid play from everyone on the roster, a great safety on a running play, and a timely forced turnover and they were able to step it up when needed in the 4th quarter as they defeated the Toulouse Darkwolves in the Alpha Championship game.
When two teams meet in the championship the game is usually decided by turnovers. In the regular season the Wolves forced 15 fumbles and had 31 picks, and in the playoffs they have 5 FFs and 3 picks. The Admirals forced 17 fumbles and snagged 37 INTs in the regular season, and have forced 3 fumbles and picked off 5 passes in the playoffs.
The Wolves don't throw picks (only 8 in the regular season) and the Admirals don't lose fumbles (only 4 in the regular season), so something has got to give.
Betting Line: Warsaw -6
Warsaw will keep the tempo the way they want it, and will force a fumble and intercept a pass at the most crucial times of the game as they hold off the Admirals to win by 7.
