So, we told Amsterdam what we were going to do against them. I think it's only fair to tell you guys as well. BTW, this is for Bjelasnica: We will NOT tell you guys anything
IF we are lucky enough to beat Dresden... so don't get your hopes up
Anyway, in our first game we ran a lot of off tackle stuff to our left, where we could only muster 4.5 yards per carry. We were most successful getting outside, averaging 8 YPC outside. So, we'll probably use our speed and run a ton of sweeps against you guys. We'll be 50/50 run/pass. So, we will try to throw a lot of long stuff against you from 3 WR sets, since only your top two CBs are really fast enough to keep up with our WRs. We will use the Wildcat a little more against you as well, as it seems to work very well.
On defense, you guys ran primarily up the middle in our first game, so I assume you will do something different since that didn't work well for you. Although, I think that your Malta GMs thought you could do the same thing Malta did to us, and that may be why you ran up the middle all day getting less than 4 YPC. You also ran to the right an AWFUL lot. I assume your best blockers are on your right, and we'll be there waiting for your backs. I don't think we'll have a problem with your passing game... last time, you threw predominantly medium passes. You can't throw deep on us, since our DBs are all well above 80 speed... so we'll look to stop your medium routes again. Between our blitzing 60%-75% of the time, and our good DBs, we aren't worried about the pass game. If you can run on us, you can win. But you won't pass on us.
Overall, we feel we matchup with you guys better than Amsterdam. Your defense is good, but it has weaknesses that we can, and will, exploit, just like we did in our first meeting. The keys for this game are simple: Dresden needs to be able to run the ball, and shore up its defense against us. If they run well and keep us under 21, they have a chance to win. If we score more than 21, they won't win.
Unfortunately, I think this game is going to be close and will come down to the wire. I hate close games, and would prefer to see a big lead for Dublin early, where you guys will have to pass more, working into our defensive strength.
