*meh just realised I was a bit too historical over team form and stuff.
As expected
, my predictions were correct and everything seems in order in this conference. Nebraska dispatched of Hamburg as thought, Lyon took until the 3rd quarter to get going but got the W in the end. In the crunch matches, Rotterdam put aside their earlier loss to Hungary with an emphatic win. I can assure you a lot of preparation went into that one. And in rivalry match of the round, Turin came out early against Marcy, and even though a resurgence was valid, Turin were able to hold on in an eventful match. So that leaves us with:
Nebraska vs Rotterdam
Lyon vs Turin
which I guess is not what most of us were expecting a week or so ago. The former of the ties will perhaps be the match of the round. Despite Rotterdam's shortcomings, they are considered one of the premier teams of the tournament and I think they'll give Nebraska their toughest match yet. Lyon defeated Turin rather convincingly in their Round 3 match, yet most would argue the scoreline is deceptive of a close match. So let us take a closer look at both ties.
(1) Nebraska vs (5) Rotterdam
Both of these two teams asserted their dominance of the league early with winning streaks and crushing displays. For Nebraska, they started with a rather strong win over Marcy and utilized a gap they found against Turin. In perhaps their first test against one of the AA old boys, they were able to defeat my beloved Demons with destructive attack which never called upon their QBs. The match was masked in controversy considering some alleged claims of interference by Nebraska's good pal JasonArgos but the matter was settled promptly and both teams forgave and respected each other. The big match came a few rounds later where another tactical master play was evident in their 10 point win over the Cheetahs, the team they play today. They were faultless throughout the season and are favourites to take the AA title.
Rotterdam, on the other hand, started as my favourites for the league and established this role with wins over Alpha's River Raiders, Turin, and the slugfest with Lyon. They slipped up against Nebraska and lost a couple of surprising ties which is why this Omega tie is occuring in the 2nd round.
Both teams had resounding wins in their first tie, perhaps more surprisingly to Rotterdam. The Blackshirts have the luxury of being able to gun it low or throw it high and it leaves the entire world wondering how they'll approach the Cheetahs. I've dealt with narc and the crew a couple of times over the seasons and I know that Tux and crew will have to be at their manipulative, systematic best to beat Rotterdam in this game.
(2)Lyon vs (6)Turin
Despite two quality teams playing here, many would consider this a lesser tie of the round. I think I speak for rc5star as well as my self when I say both of these teams are proud to be here and are looking for the ultimate glory. Both of these teams lost to the AA Juggernauts, but in their own right, have shown their deservedness to be here today with wins over Marcy or Permian Panthers. I guess you could consider Turin slight underdogs for this tie having failed 4 out of 5 times to beat the other real opponents in the league but their past history and comprehensive win tonight proves that they do indeed have the quality to take on the best. Lyon also come into this tie with a lot to prove. Speaking for the team, we definitely want a Conference final and beyond that, the trophy, and would like nothing better then a win against Nebraska or Lyon. But we understand that we face a similarly tough task this round against a strong Turin side. Without disclosing to much, the GM crew are at work to defeat this side for the 2nd time this season, and are hoping to deny the 6th seeds a AA2 final. It's rightfully ours.

Yeah no predictions for this round. Wouldn't feel right with my own team in such a tight match and you can GTFO out if you think I can split the other tie. All I know is that this is going to be some GLB goodness, and I truly can't wait to see how it unfolds.
