Great season to all of the Zeta teams. Good luck to you all next year regardless of which league you are in.
But....for now....we are talking Zeta playoffs....let's see what we have going on.
Game of the Week #1.....Revenge is a dish best served cold
Vanuatu vs. Wake Island
The Destroyers surprised the Volcano during the regulear sesson and took a well deserved win from their matchup. Vanuatu has probably forgotten though....NOT! This will be a great game between two good teams with the Volcano on a bit more of an upturn since that loss to the Destroyers. I personnaly blame the Destroyers for waking them up! This game will be close and well played. I see the the Volcano giving a little payback to the Destroyers and ending Wake Island's successful first season in the conference. But it won't be easy. I see Vanuatu beating Wake Island by 2 TD's with 1 TD added late. Two good teams, 1 great game, 1 happy team. Vanuatu.
Game of the Week #2.....Close is as close does
Antarctica vs. Chillicothe
Two old time Oceania AA#3 teams that faced each other in their first official league game as teams (Convicts 28, Seals 6...season 3). Now...they face each other again in a game that is huge for both of them. The Convicts are solid on both sides of the ball...but so are the Seals. The Convicts game plan well, but.....so do the Seals. The Seals won a close game in the regular season and I see no reason to expect anything different here. The Convicts have been a little inconsistent the last 5 games, and they can't afford that here. The Seals know the capabilities of the Convicts and won't be excpecting anything but Chillicothe's best....and they get it....but its still not enough. The Antarctica defense steps to the front and spearheads a tough Seal's win over a very good Convict team. Antarctica by 2 TD's late.
Game of the week #3.....Outta my way...
Osaka vs. SAFS
The Buckeyes dispatched the SAFS like a bug on a windshield during the regular season. It may happen again. Osaka is not doing this with mirrors. The Buckeyes are a good team that has had no problems with the best Oceania AA#3 has to offer. Will it change this week? No. The SAFS will adjust their game plan but even with the vast respect I have for the SAFS, it won't make up for the difference with the Buckeyes. Osaka will score early and often....maybe a bit closer game than in the regular season....but not enough to matter. Buckeyes by 6 TD's.
Game of the Week #4.....Never on a Sunday!
Newcastle vs. Tuvalu
The Matadors staged a very nice and impressive 2nd half of the season, but, they now face a determined Minotaur squad that will not be denied....at least that is what they told me! You know what....I believe them! This game may get out of hand early and if it does, the Matadors will be hard pressed to come back. Like in Thunderdome...two go in, one comes out. The Matadors will be getting the "horns" from the Minotaurs this game. Newcastle will dominate this game and come away with a solid win. Minos by 5 TD's.
It's been a good season in Oceania AA#3. I want to thank those who were here and express my best wishes to all of you regardless of where you end up next season.
