The below was written on the 12/Nov - I thought I would post an update and see what we are looking at - in relation to the playoffs for Alpha

Ok if no one is going to do a top 8 prediction of Alpha - I'll do it myself..
..please no flaming - just one man's opinion (though getting a top eight was fairly easy, putting them in order was quite hard)
1. Warsaw Warlocks - we went undefeated last season and hope to do the same this season, we are solid across the board and "Gameplanning Guru" Mr Victor has a few surprises for this season..
2. Stockholm Screamin Eagles - these guys have added some new blood and don't seem to have a weakness from QB to Kicker - will be real tough to beat...and don't we all just hate Rikky Bobby!!!
3. D.C. Redskins - some absolutely great starters - but then again some not so great backups - if the Redskins have a problem it will be depth, but their QB/RB/WR combo will get them out of most losing situations.
4. Donetsk Hammers - I like these guys - good depth and levels across the board - will need to watch their gameplanning though. QB Steele will need another great season, if he doesn't fire neither will the Hammers.
5. Siberian Express - solid team and depth - no drop of skill with this teams backups!! The Express will certinally make the playoffs
6. Istanbul Raging Bulls - good team - great RB combo, might struggle against the top league teams with only 3 WR's and 1 FS..
7. Roman Legion - This team is strong - lead by their big passing QB Hasselbeck - the Legion have some great starting players but some not so great backups .Individual effort from their big name players will see the Legion through the regular season and into the playoffs.
8 Moscow Iron Curtain - A few off season issues saw Moscow get pushed down the prediction ladder - but they are still good enough to make the eight.
Dark Horse- Western Warsaw Bulldogs - my mates from the West!! I wouldn't be surprised if the Bulldogs power through to the playoffs..good depth and gameplanning - I wouldn't write them off!!
Lets discuss the my previous top 8 and see how they have gone

Warsaw Warlocks - my boys have done it a little tougher than I would have thought - losing a couple of close games -that I had ticked in the win box. But the Warlocks will make the playoffs and hopefully for me can still go to the championship game. With Mr Victor gameplanning anything is possible!!!

Stockholm Screamin Eagles - undefeated...and have beat the teams to beat in Alpha bar one - while I still hate Rikky Bobby - it looks like he is going to help the Eagles power through the playoffs, and if they can beat the Sea Wasps in the final weeks game - will be red hot to take out the Alpha championship and most probably the #EEA1 superbowl.

D.C. Redskins - won a couple of close games - lost a couple of close games.. with two easier games left to close out the season the Redskins will make the playoffs - QB Williams and RB Sayers have led from the front and given the Redskins a legitimate contender tag.

Donetsk Hammers
While I think the Hammers will make the playoffs I was going to say that they have not impressed as much as predicted. But last week they managed to beat my Warlocks - who I believe have the ability to beat any Alpha team on their day - so I'm going to say if the Hammers can fire as a team and their gameplanning is on song they could cause some upsets in the playoffs..

Siberian Express - I should never say that a team will "certinally" make the playoff - if I say that it tends to give the team in question some bad JuJu - as the case could be here with the Express. From my point of view the Express promised much - but had a bad start and lost a few early games they should have won, after that it was going to be hard to get back on track.

Istanbul Raging Bulls - Looks like I was on the money with the Bulls - while I'm sure they will have a go in the playoffs - I still think they are a little light on with depth - which will cause them a problem against the better teams in the conference.

Roman Legion - This team promised much - but have now gone CPU - ah well!! But due to their reasonable record before becomming CPU they are still a chance to squeeze into the 8.

Moscow Iron Curtain - The Iron Curtain have played above their weight all season - losing only to the three team above them - and fairly close scores. If the coach can come up with something special for the playoffs then anything is possible.

Tyrrhenian Sea Wasps - I didn't even have these guys in my top 8 (shows how much I know) but they have played a great season. Their last weeks game against the Eagles will be a cracker...and if the Sea Wasps can pull off a win in that game - it will cement their chances as playoff contenders rather than playoff hopefulls.
and for the championship game...
I see the Eagles and Warlocks playing a close one - with the Warlocks taking the Alpha title by one TD (well..hey guys!! do you really think I woudl bet against my own team
)
But if my Warlocks get done in the playoffs - I would see as an alternative the Eagles playing the Sea Wasps - and the last regular weeks match-up between these two teams would be the preview.
And my prediction of a dark horse in the Playoffs is.......Donetsk Hammers..... I think on their day the Hammers could give any team trouble as they showed the Warlocks last week. Heavyweights Eagles and Sea Wasps should be on notice.
