Zeta Power Rankings

1. Sicilian Centurions (45-17 Win vs. Amsterdam Pirates)

13-0 (3-0 vs. Top 5 teams in Zeta)

This team just keeps on rolling. Nothing more to say here as the rest of the league plays for 2nd place until next season. They played a Top 5 team and though it was their closest game it really wasn’t close.
Next game vs. Copenhagen Hounds

2. Monaco Maniacs (87-3 Win vs. Arlington Sandlot)

11-2 (1-1 vs. Top 5)

Another huge win for the Maniacs. They played lesser competition but did what they were supposed to by taking care of the Sandlot right away and leaving no doubt. They will now see if they are deserving of the #2 ranking or not as they get to go head to head vs. the loldots on Sunday night. Looks to be an even matchup as both teams are among the leaders in offense and defense. No question it is the game of the day and the week.
Next game vs. loldots

3. loldots (91-7 Win vs. Kickback Cavaliers)

12-1 (1-1 vs. Top 5)

After a comment that I had anticipated reading about the low ranking (#3) this team will get it’s wish and have the chance to move up as they play in the game of the week vs. the Maniacs. This team is in the top of our league and will get a chance to show it on Sunday night.
Next game vs. Monaco Maniacs

4. California Brew Crew (59-7 Win vs. Glasgow Cats)

11-2 (1-2 vs. Top 5)

This team had it’s way with the Glasgow Cats but again gave up yards through the air. Certainly the Cats were going to have to throw it when they got down by so many but they put up more yards then they have been averaging all year with 140 in this game vs. 95 per game all season. With only one real test coming up in the final 3 games (Monaco) the Crew is going to have to focus it’s attention to slowing down the aerial assault or the playoffs will be 1 and done. This weeks game against the Cavaliers will be a walk in the park as this team tries to continue it’s path towards a home playoff game.
Next game vs. Kickback Cavaliers

5. Amsterdam Pirates (17-45 Loss vs. Sicilian Centurions)

10-3 (1-3 vs. Top 5)

Not a bad effort as they hung tough with most categories but lost big where it counts- scoreboard. Went into the half tied up and then forgot to come out in the 2nd half. This team is better then it’s #5 ranking but needs some impressive wins in order to move up. They have a good shot at cracking the Top 4 and getting a home playoff game as they won’t lose another game until the playoffs. Demon Santas be warned that the Pirates are in need of a win after this tough battle and will give you more than you can handle.
Next game vs. Artic Demon Santas

6. Copenhagen Hounds (6-13 Loss vs. Drunken Irish)

8-5 (0-4 vs. Top 5)

Once again this team shows the committee no consistency. They play well with tough teams and lose or win by a small margin against supposed lesser competition. I’m going to call out both QB’s on the team as they have a Top of the line RB that has them into the playoffs. If one of the two QB’s could step up his game this team could be a real sleeper in the playoffs. But they are going to lose their 3rd in a row on Sunday as the Centurions will look to put up a huge score against the toughest team to figure out.
Next game vs. Sicilian Centurions

7. West Yorkshire Bandits (66-7 Win vs. Washington Warriors)

7-6 (0-4 vs. Top 5)

This team should probably be the 6th team listed but that will come on Sunday night after they beat the Wolverhampton Wolverines and the Hounds lose to the Centurions. The Bandits are getting ready to tighten up the little problems as they prepare for the playoffs. They have two real decent games left vs. the improving EuroTrash squad and the final game of the year against the real good Amsterdam Pirates. This team has been an above average squad that has one the games they thought they would and lost the ones against the tougher competition.
Next game vs. Wolverhampton Wolverines

8. Ireland Drunken Irish (13-6 Win vs. Copenhagen Hounds)

6-7 (0-3 vs. Top 5)

After 3 straight losses the Irish finally got it going back in the right direction by beating the Copenhagen Hounds by a TD on Friday night. This team is going to need to pull something out of their ass down the stretch if they want to make the playoffs as they have to play the loldots and Brew Crew in the final 2 games of the season. If they don’t win one of those games their season will be all over. The good news is that they get the Sandlot on Sunday so that can be used as a practice for the final two matchups.
Next game vs. Arlington Sandlot

9.Trondheim Berserkir (19-13 Win vs. Wolverhampton Wolverines)

6-7 (0-4 vs. Top 5)

Another team that is looking for its identity. After losing a tough battle against the Pirates earlier in the year they were recently smacked down 91-0 against the Brew Crew. This week they narrowly snuck out a win against the worst team in the league and are still alive and fighting for a playoff spot. The schedule is favorable as the only real tough team left for the Berserkir is the Monaco Maniacs. They will probably sneak into the playoffs but won’t make a peep once they are there.
Next game vs. Glasgow Cats

10.EuroTrash Talkers (55-7 Win vs. Demon Santas)

5-8 (0-5- vs. Top 5)

After starting off the season by losing their 2 games by a total of 4 points this team has an outside chance of making the playoffs. They will need to win out to do so but Owner BADAS$ thinks they are starting to hit their stride and have could pull it off. Their biggest obstacle will be against the Bandits on Tuesday night. This is the key game for them making the playoffs. They have had some tough luck losses but after making a few trades and adding some newer pieces this team is taking shape and performing much better.
Next game vs. Washington Warriors

Zeta Game of the Week-
#2Monaco Maniacs vs. #3loldots

The other teams are not in contention. I will add a quick note about each one after Sundays games.

#3.. again? C'mon man. I think the the 2nd place in the conference vs. Maniacs 4th spot should be enough.

But anyway.. we'll do our best to win the Maniacs today and prepare for the last game versus the Centurions.

great write up once again. Thanx!
Keep the good work, we need it.

I think for both you guys and the maniacs, this week's rankings are trivial.

The game result will determine who gets that #2 spot next week.

Another nice writeup badass, thanks!

Exactly right. They are going heads up so that will certainly determine the order for the next games.

GG.
41-30 over the monaco. that will certainly give us the #2.

I hope we can keep the good work and maybe surprise the Centurions later this week.
Looking forward for the next Power Ranking

Cheers

I'll have the new rankings posted tonight. That way they are viewable for longer then a couple of hours before the next game.

It was really a good day of games. More close games then I think teams were anticipating. I know we thought we would roll and we had to squeak out a win thanks to fumbling 4 times, yuck.

Nice write up, and I definitely appreciate these rankings. My only issue is that I don't understand why you keep talking down the Brew Crew's pass D. 165 yards allowed per game and 12 passing TDs allowed on the season is not bad at all. We could stand to do better, but it's not like we're getting blown up through the air. Plus, at the risk of jinxing our entire postseason, our only losses so far are to the top 2 teams in Zeta, so 1 and done in the playoffs, whether we slow down those 165 yds per game or not, doesn't seem very likely, IMO.

Still, keep up the good work man, I look forward to reading these!
