Been very short on time, obviously, so will focus on the 3 super games we have this week. A little late, but at least i got them done before kick-off heh
Lion:
Red Sea Wave at Katanga DiamondsGAME OF THE WEEK
One of the most anticipated games of the year is finally here. The winner of this one will take the lead in Lion solo as both these giants are currently 12-0, and the scenario now unfolding has been talked about since before week 1. Players, staff and fans alike are ready for action in what should be one of the most intense games of the year. The tie breaker that comes with a win today even means that the victor can loose 1 game in the last 3 weeks, and still end out with the #1 seed, so its even more important than at first glance, altho you shouldnt think that possible.
In an interview with The Eritrea Times early this week, Coach upnorth of RSW had the following to say about the upcoming game; "RSW where did your team come from?"
"We were sent in a capsule from a place long from here and we came here for one reason: to attack and keep coming. Not to ask but just to give. Not to want but just to send...send the power of the Wave down everybody's throat in the league till they become sick of it. Well you're gonna get sick of it because this freak of nature right here is just beginning to swell. And when we get big enough, brother, there ain't gonna be room for anybody else but me and all the Wave floating through the veins, and the power of the WAVE"
"How have you prepared for this match up?
"How must I prepare you must ask yourself. Should we jump off the tallest building in the world? Should we lay on the lawn and let it run over me with lawnmowers? Should we go to Africa and let it trample me with raging elephants? No....we are looking for Diamonds"
"What do you have to say to the fans coming to see the game?"
"It's something that when you turn on that TV screen or when you buy a ticket in those arenas you know that it gonna be exciting and that it might even be a little bit frightening!"
"What would you say about facing the Raiders in the Championship?"
"In my final meeting with the gods from the heavens above, as they spoke to me and hit me with the power of the Wave, they told me 'Exit stage left! Exit stage right! There is no place to run; all the fuses in the exit signs have been burned out!"
"Any Closing Remarks?
"AAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYA You can feel it dude, you can feel it! Battle of the unbeatens....Winner will be all alone atop the conference and the league."
It haven't been able to get any word from the Katanga management, but rumors go that coach Oborona has some all new tactics ready for testing. The bookmakers have Katanga as slight favorites, with odds 1.55 against RSW's 1.76, and it is truly anyone's game. This is why we love football
Pick 'Em
Burundi Hutu at Band of Brothers
BoB looks to be sure of a home field game, provided they can hold their own against top dogs RSW and Katanga. Burundi on the other hand look almost sure to miss the play-offs for the first time in 3 years.
BoB Wins 67-13
Malagasy Bushmen at Cape Verde Headhunters
Cape Verde needs to win the remaining games, including a week 16 game against RSW, to be sure of a top-4 spot. Should be an easy win today tho, as Malagasy is about as weak as they come in AA
Headhunters win 76-0
Freetown Palookas at Warriors of AnubisSUPER GAME
Super game in store here, as old A#2 rivals WoA and Freetown clash. Last year, WoA beat Freetown in the regular season. 1 of only 2 losses suffered in the regular season. They faced off again in the conference final, and again WoA proved too much for Freetown, as they lost a close game 17-23. This year, they are both 7-5 after 12 weeks, and today's winner will gain not only a lead, but a tie breaker advantage aswell. Freetown started the year with the easiest part of the schedule, while WoA started out with the hardest, but have now played a very equal pack of teams. WoA are slight favorites, but its not by much. Can the Freetown O hang enough pts for a win, or will WoA's defense keep them in check.
WoA wins 37-34 in OT
Kilimanjaro Kamikaze at African Fire
AF can take a big step towards securing the #8 spot with a win. Kilimanjaro has tossed in the towel for this season, but could be a nuisance if the will is there.
Fire wins 41-31
White Nile Piranha at Rhein Main Magic Mushrooms
White Nile are in a transition period with the new slow build plans, and this could open up for a win for the Shrooms.
Atlantic Blue Jays at Mogadishu Sharks
The Sharks was sold prior to last weeks game, and their destiny is now sealed, with A league football waiting next year. Should be a sure win for the Blue Jays, who can keep their theoretical play-off chances alive.
Blue Jays win 48-24
Elephant:
Richmond Raiders at Real Men of GeniusGAME OF THE WEEK.......LIKE WHOAAA!
Another huge game here, as the top 2 teams face off in what should be a game to remember. Richmond are the only undefeated team in Elephant, and only have this game and the week 16 game against the Crocs between them and a perfect regular season. RMoG had a week 1 loss against BoB from Lion, and then won 10 straight games before running into a beating at the hands of EEORG. Last week they redeemed themselves with a dominating performance against Cairo tho, and they want to continue the good playing today if they want to win. The fans at The Grotto should get their moneys worth either way, you dont wanna miss out on this one
Pick 'Em
Cape Town Shinobis at Cairo Crocodiles
Crocs dropped to #4 after last weeks loss to Rwanda, and they have 3 super tough games to finish the season after this one. Tank some morale Crocs, looks like you'll need it.
Cairo Cannibals at Zanzibar Leopards
Cannibals are currently #6 with a 8-4 record, and with all their closest rivals playing weak opponents too, this has to be a sure win. Commence the feast!
Swaziland Semnikati at Rwanda Assassins
Rwanda had a big win against Cairo last week, and are now sitting in the #3 spot. With games against Lake M and EEORG coming up, they cant afford to loose today. Swaziland cant make the play-offs anymore, but they are not a team to give in. Rwanda will have to play some good ball to win this one.
Dakar Dragons at Serengeti Wildebeest
Dakar is one of 4 teams currently 8-4, and need this win to keep up with the pack. As long as they dont punt on 1st downs, it should be in the bag for Dakar.
Lake M'Zumba Cannibals at Casablanca White Houses
Lake M has a fairly easy ending schedule, and could see some advancement in the table the next few weeks. They ofc have to win their games first, but if they can keep up the good play shown recently, they will be hard to stop.
EEORG Bastards at Trinidad Trojans
One team is as reborn, one is as...well.......unborn..? Silly game, lotsa TD's
Sierra Leone Head Shrinkers at Zimbabwe Black Rhinos
2 teams that haven't made any impact what so ever this year, face off in a game no one will watch, even less remember. Or will they......
No they wont, and Rhinos win
