Im going to do a quick power ranking of the top 9 teams, and this is the teams that have a chance to hit the playoffs.
Ive done this in a few other leagues but this is the first im doing here. So hang on, if it aint perfect.
1. Kiev Flames 11-1
One loss that came to the Train and it wasnt close. Flames also just came out on top in the victories over Wolwerines and the Children, just winning by 5 in each. But other than that, perfect record. Best passing team by yards. But also the team with most tackles, which can indicate a hard time getting 3&outs. 15-1 i dont see any of the next 4 teams that can stop this fire.
2. Tricity Wolverines 10-2
Second in passing yards, Most TDs by passing (90), 4th overall in hurries, 5th in sacks, scoring 103.8 points a game while giving up 14.3 points! Tricity is tearing up the conference, but still have fight the nr #6 Snakes, nr#8 Blizzards, nr #9 Red Stars and nr #11 Fort Royals. These big playoff changing matchups will make a huge difference but for Tricity and their opponents, all of whom are chasing playoff spots. 14-2 Close game with the snakes, but no loses.
3. Travis Henry's Illegitimate Children 10-2
Rushing is their bread and butter, 95 TDs and 4200+ yards on the ground so far for the not so harmless Children. Their offensive line is, well in lack of other words, incredible, only topped by the Flames'. 6 sacks and 23 hurries, plus having gotten this many yards on the ground comes from great blocking up front. And having 1422 pancakes, as the conference leader, helps. The week 13 matchup against nr #4 Impalers will have HUGE impact on both teams playoff spots. 13-3 They will end up with a loss to the Impalers, but winning over Snakes, Blizzard and Fort Royals.
4. Transylvanian Impalers 10-2
The last strech of the shedule isnt very kind to the Impalers, facing up against 4 very tough contenders for the title game! Mostly the next two week against Children and Train is the difference between nr 5 and 3! Plus they just faced nr 1 and 2 the last two weeks, lets hope their spirits haven fallen too low! And having a QB that only have thrown 2(!!!!!) ints all season sure helps.And when you can post a rond 100 ground TDs on top of that, then you have a playoff contender! 12-4 im thinkg that the Train will run down the spikes of the Impalers.
5. L'vov Train 10-2
Another team at 10-2, another team that have some big matchups coming up, Snakes and Impalers is left to determain the outcome of this fine team. And with their balanced offense getting things done and their defense shutting EVERYONE down with a conference leading 8.3 points allowed per game! This is a TOUGH team to beat. Plus they are still the only team to have put out the Flames! 14-2 defense wins championships!
6. Mukachevo Snakes 10-2
The last of 5 10-2 teams! And guess what, they have 4 top 5 contenders left. I dont think the Snakes is venomous enough to beat off the rest of the 10-2 teams. 3500 yards on the ground and 3700 in the air, this balanced offense is facing some of the best defenses in the conference and will have a hard time. Plus they have also giving up 17.8 points a game, which ranks higher than their next 4 opponents. They have also put up less points, so these final 4 weeks is going to be very very hard for this great team. 10-6 Yes the bite will sting, but not be deadly to the last 4 teams.
7. Milan Wildcats 8-4
A late 4th Q TD saved the day last week against Blizzard. And winning 48-45 over the snakes was HUGE. Not as huge as beating Tricity big. And having a very easy shedule left will secure them playoffs atleast. This pass first offense will have a few field days and will come out big. The big challenge left is the Red Stars, who is looking at a 8th seed and hoping to avoid the Flames in the first playoff match. 12-4 They are going to win out.
8. Bensheim Blizzards 8-4
23 overall chemistry says it all reaally. this is a team that wont win the championship this year. And with 4 hard hard hard hard games left, i dont think the Blizzard is cold enough to ice out the competions. Flames, Wolwerines, Children and Impalers leaves with a bit of a cold, but not the frosty death. As the Wildcats is a pass first offense, the Blizzard is a run-first ask questions later. Getting 180 yards per game in the air and a whopping 404.6 yards on the GROUND! Whoa nelly! 8-8 the blizzard will lose power and games.
9. Russian Red Stars 6-6
They have a shot, but its a big freaking shot to make. blizzard will have to lose the next 4 games and the Stars will have to win 3 out of 4. And when facing Flames, Wildcats and Tricity, the playoffs seems a bit far away. Next year we will see the Stars going out with a winning record, but this year its time to regroup and get ready for the fireworks next season. 7-9 Big win next week over Fremen.
