Some awesome match ups this week, and as the season is nearing its end the intensity is building up. This year simply has an awesome end schedule, with almost all of the top teams clashing within the last 5 weeks in both conferences. We are in for an entertaining couple of weeks by the looks of it, and the battle for the top has only just begun.

Enjoy

Lion:

Katanga Diamonds at Burundi Hutu
The Diamonds put the hurt on White Nile last week, in a regular air-strike of a game. That game saw Katanga put nearly 100 pts on the board, and the Hutu Defense must be wondering how the h*** to stop them. Next game for Katanga is against fellow undefeated rivals, RSW, so a win here to keep the spotless record is a must. The fans' minds are already in round 13, but hopefully the players can keep their focus. Burundi are currently tied for #8 with AF, who they lost to earlier the season, and therefore they currently hold the short straw in that match up. AF has a much easier schedule ahead of them on top of the tie-breaker, so play-offs look difficult for the Hutu, unless they can surprise in some of these final games.
Katanga wins 62-26

Red Sea Wave at Kilimanjaro Kamikaze
Kilimanjaro looks to have outplayed their role this year, and they haven't really shown anything. Focus is obviously on next season already, so a RSW win here looks inevitable. RSW has saved the beast for last, with games against Katanga, Bob and Cape Verde in the final 4 weeks. This is where their final placement will be decided, and this game really just needs to be over with, as it shouldn't be much of a challenge. Look for more RSW in the GOTW a lot in the next period
RSW wins 78-3

Band of Brothers at White Nile Piranha
BoB are right behind Katanga and RSW, and have won their last 8 games to take them to 10-1 before heading in to week 12. Next week Katanga and RSW clash, in a game that BoB will profit from regardless of the result. The following 2 weeks BoB plays both these teams themselves, and they can decide their own fate. White Nile have had it tough so far, and are currently 3-7-1. Play-offs arent a realistic goal anymore, and the focus on next season have likely started. Its a solid team tho, and they wont give in without a fight, regardless of play-off chances.
The Brothers win 67-38

Cape Verde Headhunters at Freetown PalookasGAME OF THE WEEK
This should be a really good game, with 2 high scoring teams facing off in another classic battle of new kids vs old dudes, a phenomenon put in full effect after the massive new influx to the leagues. Palookas ran into 3 straight losses at the hands of RSW, Katanga and BoB before beating up the Shrooms and are now 7-4 in #6 spot. A win here would be huge for Freetown, as it would give them some leverage for the upcoming games against fellow promoters from WoA and PHP, who are currently placed right above and below them in the table. The Headhunters are favorites, but Freetown has shown impressive playing earlier this year, and could pull the upset if things go their way. Only a 100% effort will give the opportunity tho, so everyone gotta have eyes on the prize.
Pick 'Em

Warriors of Anubis at Ethiopia Executioners
Save some for us!

Mogadishu Sharks(Formerly Scottish Sharks) at African Fire
Looks like the Sharks finally admitted that the jet lag from traveling from Scotland to Africa each week was simply too much to handle, and they have relocated the franchise to Mogadishu. If this will prove to pay off already this week we will just have to wait and see. They sure could use a win tho, as one more loss eliminates the chance of even .5 for the season. Their opponents from AF really needs this win too, as it will keep them ahead of Burundi and in the #8 spot. Looks like a struggle to advance any further, and the season goal might not be fully realized. But play-offs is play-offs, and they will likely play Bob, Katanga or RSW in round 1 regardless of placement. If they can make it, and not be passed by Burundi in the 11th hour that is.
AF wins a close game 38-34

Rhein Main Magic Mushrooms at Malagasy Bushmen
Damn, who put on the "how not to play football" tape again?!?

Elephant:

Zimbabwe Black Rhinos at Richmond RaidersLOLGAME OF THE WEEK
Richmond pulled even farther away in the fight for #1 seed with RMoG's loss last week, and now have a solid 2 game lead with 5 rounds to go. They still have to play the current #2 and #3, RMoG and the Crocs, tho, so nothing is decided yet. This game was decided yesterday tho, and the Raiders won.
Raiders by 119-0

Real Men of Genius at Cairo CannibalsGAME OF THE WEEK #1
Last years A#1 finalists RMoG travel to Cairo to take on the reigning A#2 champions, the Cannibals. Both teams have been impressive this year, and they currently hold the #2 and #4 spot in Elephant. This will likely be a battle of the defenses, and ppl with an urge for big hits should not miss this game. RMoG has to be favorites, but it could go either way. RMoG's latest performance doesnt make this game any less important or exciting, even tho nothing can be judged from 1 game. Cairo will have to try and strike the same weak spots as EEORG did, if they are still there ofc...
Pick 'Em

Cairo Crocodiles at Lake M'Zumba CannibalsGAME OF THE WEEK #2
The Crocs had a tough loss to Rwanda last week, and they wasted the opportunity to move past RMoG. With their final 3 games being against the newly awakened EEORG, their local rivals from the Cannibals and Richmond, they cant afford to loose this one if they wanna stay at the top. Lake M is in #7 spot with a 7-4 record, and a win here would take them into 1 game reach of Cairo, and with a much easier schedule than them, lake M could pass them towards the end. But they need this win for that to happen.
Crocs win a close game in OT, 34-31

Casablanca White Houses at Rwanda Assassins
Rwanda are in the zone after defeating the Crocs, and the White Houses are next in line for a beating. After a few disappointing results, Rwanda looks to be back, and are fully in the race for the top-4 spots.
Assassins win 63-17

Dakar Dragons at Swaziland Semnikati
Potentially a very good game here. The Dragons are big favorites, but the Semnikati has shown sporadic signs of strength this year, and are only 2 games behind Dakar. If Swaziland looses this one, it will probably be the end of the line for them this year, but a win would send them right back in the fight for the #8 spot. Dakar needs the win to solidify their current #6 spot, and are hoping for Cairo and Rwanda to slip so they can get in a better position for the final rush. A lot on the line, and the intensity should be thick enough to cut.
Dakar wins 37-24

Zanzibar Leopards at EEORG Bastards
EEORG gave RMoG the beating of their life's last week in a dominating performance. This week they get a treat, as the Leopards are already bent over and ready as the EEORG boys take to the field. EEORG are currently in #8 spot, but tied with Lake M and Dakar in #7 and #6 respectively. With 5 games left, a lot of things can happen, and EEORG will do theirs to shake things up.
EEORG wins 97-0

Trinidad Trojans at Cape Town Shinobis
Non Important game, but a win for Cape Town is a rare treat. Trojans look certain to go to A next year, and have a huge lead to take the anti-title, also known as "The Backdoor Bowl".
Cape Town by 107-0

Serengeti Wildebeest at Sierra Leone Head Shrinkers
Silly game
Someone wins

Just an Update....

AAA#1 has 2 CPU's and PRO has 3 CPU's so it looks like a few more teams besides the winners of each league will be moving up....I am sure more teams will go CPU as the season comes to an end.

Teams that have moved up in the past, How they have done:

Season 3
Winner:Nigeria Nightmares,(LION) had a perfect 20-0 season, they are now playing in PRO and look to make the playoffs with a 7-4 record

Runner-up:Gold Coast Corsairs, were 14-6, they also are now playing in PRO and also look to make the playoffs with a 9-2 record

Interestingly they played each other this season in the 1st Regular season game with the Corsairs winning 13-10.

Season 4
Winner:Mozambique Starvin Marvins,(LION) finished 16-4, they are now playing in AAA#1 with a 8-3 record and look to make the playoffs

Runner-up:Kinshasa Rumblers, finished 17-3, they are now playing in AAA#1 with a 2-9 record.

Season 5
Winner: Doinitin Djibouti, (ELEPHANT) finished 17-3, they moved up to AAA#1 and are 11-0 and alone in 1st Place.

Runner-up:Tijuana Thundercats, finished 17-3, they moved up to AAA#1 and are 4-7.
