I've noticed this occur a bit in the league and other leagues I frequent. Is there any real need to bloat your stats in the walk over games? I understand that in the 100+ pointers we all get a nice boost but is it really necessary to go hardcore run or pass just so your player had some insane stats on the leader board. I always liked looking upon the leaderboard to see overall who really was the best players in the league. Now it seems any player can be if they get 100% of the action in a walk.

My question is why? Do you really feel so strongly on the matter that you feel the need to make sure you guy gets some insane figures? I think it purely a delusion of a player's ability and ruins the relations between teams in the league. Who really cares if you rush 2x as many yards as all the regular guys or have a 100 TD season? I don't. But you ruined one of the competitive, funner elements in the game for your own self-glory. Perhaps I'm overeacting, but I just find it silly. Especially if you don't gun it in the air 100% all the time normally for e.g.

Perhaps that will liven up the forum?

The only really good reason I've ever heard was You need to score quickly to get the snap count up for the defense.

Here is my settings in any game we will walk over:

50 pass/50 run
50 inside/ 50 outside
50 right/ 50 left
100 HB/ 0 FB/ 0 QB
34 short/ 33 medium/ 33 long
75 WR/ 25 TE

Auto adjust set to 0

I really try to spead it around to all my players during these games, in helps them a small amount to make-up for some of the games they don't get anything. I also rotate the starters and reset the ST's to get some snaps in for the ST regulars in the actual game.

We have played 2 horrible teams, and we don't have a league leader in anything, so I am of the coaching type to spead it around and win games, not anything else.

That is rubbish. I played my last few games with similar tactics to ultrajer and some of my CBs and LBs hit 80/90 plays.

We do what it takes to score as many points as possible in case of tie breakers. We have been burned in the past and could care less about individual hardware if we did care about individual hardware we wouldn't change our tactics at all. Yes when we play a CPU we will pass a lot as it give us the most points towards any tie breaker that could come up. But when our special teams scores a ton of points it takes the O off the field a lot as well and high scoreing games do get our depth more reps. Besides we only have 1 player leading the league in anything so I know this couldn't be about us

I'm not condemning one team or another. It's just becoming more prevalent in GLB in general.

I agree with you to a point. The first couple seasons of my team my QB lead the league or was in the top 3 in some catagories this was due simply to a horrible backup once we landed our current back up which is almost identical My qb's passing yards went down but his efficiency went up along with TDs. We honestly try to keep run and pass as balanced as possible to keep every one happy on our team. If that means 100 percent against gutted then that's what we decide on

Theres not much that can be done about it. Everyone gets to play the same teams most of the time so you have equal opportunity to pad your stats.

If you really want to look at someones productivity, take the closest 8 games score wise the player played in and multiply that stat line by 2. That would be a better indicator of what the player is.

I have no problems running up points on a CPU team, but to go 100% run in order to get a rushing title is pretty lame. Stats mean little to nothing. Loch Ness has been successful the past 3 seasons and we may have 4-5 trophies amongst the team.

Do I want it to be like this? not at all, it really takes away from the fun of the game imo. I would prefer college type numbers. 100yds is good, 200 is great, and 300 just may be a recordsetter. But- and here it comes, if this is what everyone (maybe majority would be better here) else is doing- and this keeps the players happy (and this is what they want and expect), then this is what I have to do. In a perfect world (game), a team couldn't be gutted once a season begins. It could certainly be mismanaged, but the show must go on. Of course, then you risk losing player interest, and that is a very bad thing... but necessary for a true sim. Then it gets more complicated- because in reality, the Bengals can't (nor would they) just close up shop and stop competing. Gotta find a solution, but it's not simple.

It's still a Beta, right? Not perfect, and it may never be, but in the end it's just a game.

lol...i'm guilty as charged...for a 3 game stretch, i went 100% run and gave turbo all the carries...why did i do it? because i saw other teams bumping their stats. one thing to note though it that turbo has been held to less than 7.7 ypc only once this season so i don't think it really skews anything.

Agree with Tux and Tothe...1st, everyone plays the same teams. 2nd, we all play the same teams so its an equal playing field at the end of the season...

Also agree. Won't get better until the leagues get straightened out.

Don't think you'll ever straighten the leagues out as there will always be players that just sell up because they lose interest or have RL pressures. For the record if players want to do that then let them, why does it affect anybody else, let them crow about it and when they get shot down against a good team see what they say then. All part of the game, don't take it so seriously.
