6 games to go and with the Lions win over the Addiction, things are wide open. A rundown of the contending teams:

Keep an eye on the Admirals and Psychonauts. They could step up and cost one of these teams the title or a home playoff game.

Looks like the guys from Hell Valley are gonna have a lot of influence on what happens the rest of the way. This is gonna be fun.

Shhhhh. That was supposed to be a secret. lol

Honestly, I don't know if I can beat any of the three of those teams that are still left on my schedule as it stands. But thank you for the vote of semi-confidence. Anything can happen. That's why we play the games.

I must say, I'm definitely pleased with the level of competition this season.

Looks like the Devils, Mountain Men, Addiction, Sting, Lions, and Monkeys are pretty much safe for a playoff spot. That leaves 2 spots for 3 teams: Admirals, Psychonauts, and Storm. Got a prediction or will someone else get hot and sneak in?

Remaining Schedules:

Tibet: Pontianak (4-7), Cambodia (10-1), Singapore (9-2), Algeria (10-1), Mt. Fuji (0-11)

Salford: Phuket (3-8),Pontianak (4-7), Cambodia (10-1), Singapore (9-2), Algeria (10-1)

Subic Bay: Alpha (1-10), Mt. Fuji (0-11), Manila (1-10), Hell Valley (8-3), Pingree (1-10)

---

So Subic Bay's 6-5 record is much stronger than either of the other two teams, because they've already played the bulk of their tough schedule, and only Hell Valley remains to give them a challed. I would say 10-6 is almost certain and 11-5 is possible, meaning Subic would likely crack the top 6 listed above, although a home playoff slot is near impossible even with winning out.

Tibet and Salford have brutal schedules down the stretch, and each team will have to get at least one upset to avoid finishing at .500 and sliding into the No. 8 seed.

But it's pretty obvious one of these two teams will have to make it, right? Not so fast! Don't count out Brutal Deluxe just yet. Brutal has the head-to-head tiebreaker over Salford (but not Tibet), and the Deluxe have a great schedule to finish out the season: Manila (1-10), Pingree (1-10), Phuket (3-8), Pontianak (4-7) and Cambodia (10-1).

Even if the Deluxe don't manage a miracle upset over the Mountain Men, they can still easily finish 8-8 and hope for the tiebreaker in a three-way tie for the final spot (anyone know what that tiebreaker is?), or hope for a Pontianak upset over Tibet next week that will clear the way for them to beat Salford in the head-to-head tiebreaker.

Also worth noting:

If Pontianak (4-7) wins out its schedule (Tibet, Salford, Jakarta, Brutal, Alpha), it is in the playoffs for sure.

Nice analysis. The loss in the last game hurt me big time. I needed that one to practically ensure making the playoffs. Now, it's going to be very difficult. But I've never missed the playoffs yet. I don't intend on starting now.

I know we are looking forward to the Salford game after we upset Tibet last game. While we have a long, long, long shot to make the playoffs even if we win out, we plan to ruin it for a few others if possible.

You may have already succeeded. I really needed that win.

Jakarta and Salford are the key wins needed for Phuket to win out. I agree that it's a long, long shot to make the 8th spot at 8-8 (and it may be mathematically impossible because of other teams' remaining schedule ... more on that later), but wins over those two teams will be a big step toward a win-out scenario because Phuket will finish with Brutal, Alpha and Manila.

The three-way tiebreaker is whichever team has more wins against the other two teams, and if there is a tie in that category too, it goes to the team with the most points scored. I believe this is correct, but I might be wrong.

Yeah. It goes to points scored. I think it should be margin of victory. But no one asked me.

If that's the case, Brutal would have the tiebreak because they would have to beat both of those teams just to have a chance to get into tiebreak position.
