At the halfway point of the regular season, Mean Machine and West Scranton continue to have a stranglehold on the #1 and #2 rankings in the eyes of the coaches. Despite Mean Machine owning OPL's championship trophy and OPL's longest win streak at 40 games, West Scranton's impressive 3 week shutout streak (4 on the season) and stout schedule to date (tough wins against the Bomb Squad, TIT's, Dreadnoks, and Strike... not to mention all the success in scrimmage games) is starting to plant some seeds of doubt as to whether Mean Machine is really Oceania Pro's undisputed #1 team this season.

That said, dont get too caught up in that battle, as the Cook Island Convicts look to steal some of their thunder and challenge for a top two spot in the upcoming weeks with tough matchups against the Thorny Devils, Nites' and Gangsters.

Looking at the rest of the top 10, keep your eyes on the Cascade Cajun Crushers. They quietly sneaked into the top 10 a week ago. If not for a tough opening season loss against the Stingers this team could easily be firmly implanted in the top 5. Look for them to turn some heads in the upcoming weeks against the Bomb Squad, Invaders, and TIT's.

Week 9 Top Ten
1. Mean Machine 177 (9)
2. West Scranton Invaders 171 (3)
3. Cook Island Convicts 151
4. Banzai Pipeline 'Nites 147
5. Tonga Ikale Tahi 133
6. Melbourne Thorny Devils 103
7. Vanuatu Kava Sharks 97
8. Brisbane Heat 96
9. Samoa Gangsters 88
10. Cascade Cajun Crushers 78

Hiding In The Bushes
So Cal BDC 69, Fakaofo Bomb Squad 39, Fiji Stingers 28, Brisbane Bandits 28, Brisbane Gods 11, Barossa Grapestompers 9, Melbourne Dreadnoks 8, Brantford Mustangs 4, Canberra Strike 2, Co-op City Blitz 1

Dropped From The Top 10
-none-

Eleven teams participated this week.
() denotes first places votes

I awarded a first place vote with 15 points, 2nd with 14, and so on down the line. In the event of a tie an average of the two scores was awarded (ie. tie for 2nd results in an 8.5 for both).

Thanks to all those who voted this week!!!

Thanks for putting this together beenlurken. I really don't expect my team to get through the next few games without a loss. In part because I haven't had the time to put into scouting and gameplanning I'd like to due to the holiday, and in part because we're playing three awesomely good teams in a row.

I don't know how they're going to do it, but MTD is still going to find a way to go undefeated this season.

They're just that good.
