At the halfway point of the regular season, Mean Machine and West Scranton continue to have a stranglehold on the #1 and #2 rankings in the eyes of the coaches. Despite Mean Machine owning OPL's championship trophy and OPL's longest win streak at 40 games, West Scranton's impressive 3 week shutout streak (4 on the season) and stout schedule to date (tough wins against the Bomb Squad, TIT's, Dreadnoks, and Strike... not to mention all the success in scrimmage games) is starting to plant some seeds of doubt as to whether Mean Machine is really Oceania Pro's undisputed #1 team this season.
That said, dont get too caught up in that battle, as the Cook Island Convicts look to steal some of their thunder and challenge for a top two spot in the upcoming weeks with tough matchups against the Thorny Devils, Nites' and Gangsters.
Looking at the rest of the top 10, keep your eyes on the Cascade Cajun Crushers. They quietly sneaked into the top 10 a week ago. If not for a tough opening season loss against the Stingers this team could easily be firmly implanted in the top 5. Look for them to turn some heads in the upcoming weeks against the Bomb Squad, Invaders, and TIT's.
