Is this a job or a game? I have been pissed off since Wednesday that games are actually processed on such a holiday. I don't have time to gameplan or even change my settings from playing a CPU team where we ran 2 plays. I actually even rushed home from my girlfriend's family dinner to try to beat the proccessing of the game.

The whole game should be locked on Thanksgiving and Christmas. They should push all games back a day, but me bitching will change nothing. If we have to play a game on Christmas or even Christmas eve I will be getting rid of one of my jobs, and it won't be the one that I make money at.

I can give a +1 to the fact that being a team owner is a job and having games on holidays...

This is a world wide game, and not everyone celebrates Thanksgiving outside of the US....
I feel your pain.....its timeconsuming....but still only a game.

I've been busy all week because of Thanksgiving, but I'm glad that the game doesn't stop for holidays.

People who don't celebrate a holiday, whether because of nation or religion, or just lacking family living close enough to them with whom to celebrate, can find holidays especially boring. Shutting down GLB due to a holiday would make that worse.

So, keeping it running is bad for some people, but good for others. I don't think it should ever shut down, and every Net game I know of does not shut down for holidays.

Actually he's pretty safe on this one. Christmas eve and Christmas will both fall in the off season (pre season at worst)

You last played a game 48 hours ago, the day before Thanksgiving. You come on here 1 minute after the game was simmed bitching because you were too dumb to either:
1. re-set your tactics from a CPU team
2. Tell a GM to fix your tactics
3. Tell somebody on your team to set your tactics
4. Log in on your phone and write a message in either your forum or pm one of your GM's to set your tactics

This is why GLB team ownership should only be allowed to be held by adults, not crybabies

You had 48 hours and just happened to scramble home a MINUTE after the game simmed to post this. You have no credit. No believable basis for anybody buying that horseshit from you. Go back to stuffing that turkey of yours.

Lots of online games continue moving on in real time and real life, regardless of holidays.

In Utopia and Ikariam, if you were not regularly logging in every 6-8 hours, you weren't using your resources to maximum efficiency, and that meant that you were falling behind the curve. I knew people who would wake up at 3am to maximise the number of attacks they could do in a given warring period.

In Utopia, we planned and regularly declared war on unprepared kingdoms on popular holidays cause we knew not all on the other side would be around to react because it was holidays.

Not everybody celebrates holidays for various reasons. Some people take advantage of that, some plan ahead and prepare for it, and some focus on real life. Its the nature of life.
