Trying to be a bit more proactive for this game by posting predictions a day before. I found it a bit more difficult to call some games, since here at work I don't have the greasemonkey scripts. But I think I'll at least come out ahead.

OUTCOME: 15-1

--------------------------

Blackburn Carnage vs Chambersburg Trojans
The Trojans had better brace for impact. Nothing here points towards Blackburn’s winning streak coming to an end.
Prediction: Blackburn
Outcome: Blackburn, 94-0 CORRECT
Nothing to see here. Please move along.

Denver Hounds vs Baden Bandits
Baden managed to put two wins together, but I think the streak end with this game, and puts Denver at 4-1. The Hounds’ defense will keep the Bandits offense in check.
Prediction: Denver
Outcome: Denver 17-7 CORRECT
Another Nostradamus moment... Baden eeks out 165.5 yards of offense against a stingy Denver D.

Stockholm Lions vs Birmingham Polipocs
This is a tough game to read, because the Polipocs statistically seem better in most areas, but I have to look at their games against a common opponent, which in this case is Southampton. Birmingham lost in a close game, but Stockholm cruised to a victory. Have to go with the Lions in this one.
Prediction: Stockholm
Outcome: Stockholm, 24-17 CORRECT
The Lions only tried passing six times, but didn't need any more than that. Was a close game until Stockholm scored with 7 minutes to go.

Atlanta 404 vs Jacksonville Jackalopes
The key matchup in this game is the Jacksonville running attack vs the Atlanta running defense. Both seem good at what they do so far, so whoever wins this battle will take the game.
Prediction: Atlanta
Outcome: Jacksonville, 27-20 WRONG
Going to have to pay more attention to the Jackalopes, but their best test will be in game #7 against Berlin.

Berlin Blitz vs Barcelona Panthers
Berlin is too tough, and it appears Barcelona is selling off some of their players. The Panthers have no depth to speak of. If the Blitz turn up the offensive machine they’ll easily score over 100.
Prediction: Berlin
Outcome:Berlin, 69-3 CORRECT
Not quite 100, but I saw a blowout coming.

Lyon Winemakers vs Sexintown Rubbers
The Rubbers have scored twice this season. What else is left to be said?
Prediction: Lyon
Outcome: Lyon, 76-0 CORRECT
Another 60 minutes of football and the Rubbers still have only scored twice this season.

Reading Armed Centaurs vs Southampton Shadows
Southampton doesn’t have what it takes to compete against most teams, so they’ll have a tough game against Reading. The Centaurs should pad the stats a bit while improving to 3-2.
Prediction: Reading
Outcome: Reading, 38-21 CORRECT
Reading completed 2 of 5 passes. I thought the margin of victory would be a bit larger.

Nashville 615 vs Milan Eagles
It’s the Futility Bowl of game #5. The only positive here is one team will win this game.
Prediction: Milan
Outcome: Milan, 24-14 CORRECT
Looks like the Eagles accidentally threw for a whole 16 yards in a winning effort.

Amsterdam Red Lights vs Dusseldorf Noobs
Amsterdam is too tough, and until they skip a beat I can’t pick against them.
Prediction: Amsterdam
Outcome: Amsterdam, 52-6 CORRECT
Another one bites the dust. Stockholm is now in the crosshairs.

Amsterdam Magic Dragons vs Athens Devils
The Magic Dragons are doing a good job letting everyone know there are two quality teams in Amsterdam. The Devils dropped a heartbreaker in their last game, and would like to get back to winning some games. I just don’t see it happening in game #5.
Prediction: Amsterdam
Outcome: Amsterdam, 37-13 CORRECT
No surprises here. The Devils drop two in a row and the Magic Dragons continue to roll.

Barcelona Assassins vs Stockholm Dynamites
This is unquestionably the game of the day. Two 4-0 teams get together to see who will stay unbeaten and who will be a step behind in the playoff hunt. Interestingly, both teams will play the teams from Amsterdam in game #6, so the loser here runs the risk of possibly losing two games in a row. Looking at player levels and past games I’ll have to go with Barcelona in this one.
Prediction: Barcelona
Outcome: Barcelona, 48-7 CORRECT
I had a feeling the Dynamites were a little overrated and this proved to be true today. An overall poor performance by the Stockholm offense.

Glasgow Vultures vs Mannheim Spartans
Mannheim has taken some serious lumps in the last two games, and although this game should be a little closer, I don’t think they have the personnel to best Glasgow.
Prediction: Glasgow
Outcome: Glasgow, 69-7 CORRECT
Glasgow adds a second W to their record.

South Beach Sea Hawks vs Hamburg Vipers
South Beach appears to be underachieving so far this season, so they’d really like to get a good streak going to improve their 2-2 record. Fortunately they face Hamburg this game, and I think the Sea Hawks will put two W’s together for the first time this season.
Prediction: South Beach
Outcome: South Beach, 70-14 CORRECT
South Beath makes a statement against a cellar-dweller and pads the stats.

Helsinki Hitmen vs Barcelona Dare devils
Looks like a close game on paper, so you’d think the final score might be close. Their conference rankings are close, except for pass defense. The Hitmen had a close game against the Red Lights, while the Dare devils were routed.
Prediction: Helsinki
Outcome: Helsinki, 28-9 CORRECT
Not as close as I thought, though the Hitmen did have a pair of long scoring plays.

Cologne Ghosts vs San Marino Falcons
Two 3-1 teams come together in this game. I think the Falcons are overachieving, winning three games against sub-par competition, and Cologne will be looking forward to proving that.
Prediction: Cologne
Outcome: Cologne, 35-3 CORRECT
Cologne shows San Marino where they belong in the food chain.

Norwich Nighthawks vs Liverpool SEA Fusion
Norwich seems like a decent team, but they’ve run across four brutal foes to start the season. Unfortunately it looks like that losing streak has poisoned their locker room, with their ‘star’ HB acting the fool on the league forums. They’re going to have a chance to get into the W column for the first time this season. If they don’t win this one it’s time to sell the team back.
Prediction: Norwich
Outcome: Norwich 57-14 CORRECT
The suicidal thoughts of the Nighthawks ease up a bit as they earn their first W of the season.

Nice write for that, We have had a tough start and our first game was a real bummer losing by 1 point, we're hoping this can be a first W in the right column, and this is the first game we can win, But if we dont win i wont sell the teamback, im buying more flex so i wouldnt need to do that, and im gonna stick to this team like glue, There will be some Drastic changes but none that we cant get through we have a real strong group of guys on this team.

Thanks. I haven't done this since Season 2, but being in a 13 capped league is really fun, so I don't mind doing it.

I just wish the league page would update with the new games a bit sooner. For this round of predictions I had to go through each team to find the matchups because the league page was empty.

I was being a little sarcastic... it's the GLB version of the schoolyard saying "you should just kill yourself", heh...

yeah great writeup.

the only complaint i would have is these late games, i live in the US on the east coast, making games at 11 at night, which isnt fun staying up late to get a quick peek at the scores, but o well great league, looking forward to the helsinki game tomorrow, good luck to all

I would be lucky if they were at 11 my time - the league games are at 5 in the morning in Europe (even though this should be a Western European league)

Hope the kickoff time changes next season and the games will be played a lot earlier
