I could use some help doing these, so if any of the owners/GM's or even people on the team could PM me what you thought went right and wrong in your games (like what I've done here), it would save me a bunch of time. Thanks
Disclaimer: I am the owner of the New Brunswick n00bs and this is only my opinion based upon how the teams looked when I saw them
1. Waco Davidians
2. Oakland Wizards
3. Denver Pirates
4. Las Vegas Stunners
5. Bel Air Beardogs
6. New Brunswick n00bs
7. Hartford Hellhounds
8. Dallas Red Raiders
9. Scottsdale Sun Demons
10. RGB Berzerk
11. Spicewood Longhorns
12. Chicago Clams
13. Miami Cyclones
14. Portland Hitmen
15. Grand Haven Mists
16. Ambridge Brigade
1. Waco Davidians - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1220
What went right:Pass Offense – Accounting for all the TDs, the passing game was clutch, with a 66% completion rate. When they needed big plays, the passing game seemed to come up with them with TD passes of 16.5 yds, 21 yds, and 39.5 yds.
What went wrong: Kicker – In a game much closer than it should have been, the kicker was saved by the passing game. All a kicker is required to do for the team is to kick field goals and extra points. Well, at least the kicker hit all of his extra points. Unfortunately, he missed all 3 of his FGs.
Recent Game: W 21-13 vs Hartford
Record: 3-0
Previous Rank: 1
Next Game: at Oakland Wizards
2. Oakland Wizards - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1210
What went right: Offensive Line – With 23 pancakes and opening holes for a dominant running game (3 TDs and a 5 yd/carry average), the offensive line dominated in the trenches and did not allow much disruption to their offense.
What went wrong: Kicker – Once again the kicker gets the dishonorable mention with a missed field goal and a missed XP. Oakland better hope that they don’t have to rely on him in a close game.
Recent Game: W 20-6 at Portland
Record: 3-0
Previous Rank: 2
Next Game: vs Waco Davidians
3. Denver Pirates - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1212
What went right: Defensive Line – When you hold a team to negative yards rushing on the strength of 5 TFLs and 9 sacks, you know you have a dominant defensive line. Other teams have now been served notice that if you can’t handle their D-line, you might as well give up.
What went wrong: Nothing? – I honestly could not see anything negative in their performance. It was practically perfect. We’ll see how they do against tougher competition.
Recent Game: W 44-0 at Chicago
Record: 2-1
Previous Rank: T-4
Next Game: vs Grand Haven Mist
4. Las Vegas Stunners - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1219
What went right: Receiving Corp – With half of their receiving yardage coming from YAC (118.5 yds out of 222.5 yds), this receiving corp had a field day with Spicewood’s secondary.
What went wrong: Turnovers – Having 3 turnovers is a dangerous way to play and they were fortunate that they weren’t harmed for their careless mistakes.
Recent Game: W 24-3 at Spicewood
Record: 3-0
Previous Rank: T-4
Next Game: vs Dallas Red Raiders
5. Bel Air Beardogs - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1224
What went right: Run Offense – In a surprisingly close game, the run offense took the team on its shoulders and pounded the Scottsdale defense to victory. With 4.7 yds/carry, 5 broken tackles and the lone TD of the game, the run offense gets a golden star.
What went wrong: Pass Offense – The same, however, cannot be said of the pass offense. While the passing game had a respectable completion percentage, with 3 INT (one leading to Scottsdale’s only points), they were lucky not to have given up more points. They must be careful when deploying their QB because the passing game could be more of a liability than a benefit.
Recent Game: W 13-3 at Scottsdale
Record: 3-0
Previous Rank: 3
Next Game: vs RGB Berzerks
6. New Brunswick n00bs - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1214
What went right: Run Offense – Once again their running game was extremely effective with 5.9 yd/carry on 41 carries, the Grand Haven defense could not stop the running attack.
What went wrong: Secondary – Once again the secondary was attacked repeatedly by the opposing team and was not able to make huge stops. Fortunately, this game was a perfect example of a bend, but don’t break defensive philosophy, but it won’t hold up against a better team.
Recent Game: W 20-3 vs Grand Haven
Record: 2-1
Previous Rank: 8
Next Game: at Scottsdale Sun Demons
7. Hartford Hellhounds - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1216
What went right: K/P returns – The kick and punt returners did a very admirable job getting this team into good field position. Unfortunately Harford’s offense didn’t have enough juice to complete the job.
What went wrong: Run Offense – Being held to below 1 yd/carry is extremely problematic. They were lucky to not lose the ball on the 2 fumbles they had. The backs didn’t break any tackles and were taken out in the backfield 6 times. In a game where every yard could have helped, the run offense sputtered.
Recent Game: L 13-21 at Waco
Record: 2-1
Previous Rank: 6
Next Game: vs Chicago Clams
8. Dallas Red Raiders - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1217
Contributor: cbraider90
What went right: Running Backs – These guys just powered through the Miami defense averaging 5.8 yds/carry and breaking a whopping 15 tackles. They accounted for all of Dallas’ TDs and controlled the game from the start.
What went wrong: Tackling – With 16 missed tackles, the defense almost gave this game away. In order to be competitive in this league, the Red Raiders will need to deal with this problem.
Recent Game: W 20-14 vs Miami
Record: 1-2
Previous Rank: 11
Next Game: at Las Vegas Stunners
9. Scottsdale Sun Demons - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1225
What went right: Cornerbacks – With 6 passes deflected and accounting for 2 of the 3 INTs, the cornerbacks were as much of an offensive force as the offense was. Without these plays, the score would have been much worse.
What went wrong: Kicker – In such a close game, you need to have confidence in your kicker. Missing one out of two field goals, much less one that was pretty much in the red zone can kill a team.
Recent Game: L 3-13 vs Bel Air
Record: 1-2
Previous Rank: 7
Next Game: vs New Brunswick n00bs
10. RGB Berzerk - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1223
What went right: Run Offense – With a new addition to their team (a level 12 HB), the Berzerks have a new persona. When one of your running backs has 4 TDs and breaks 26 tackles (and an 8.5 yd/carry average to boot), I’d be willing to say that the run offense was pretty good. They shouldn’t have even thrown the ball in this game.
What went wrong: Receivers – Out of 16 catchable balls that were thrown their way, they dropped 5 of them. That’s not good. If they face a team that can shut down their running game, it could be a problem.
Recent Game: W 35-0 vs Ambridge Brigade
Record: 1-2
Previous Rank: 16
Next Game: at Bel Air Beardogs
11. Spicewood Longhorns - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1215
What went right: Front 7 – The defensive front 7 did an admirable job trying to contain Las Vegas’ offense. With 6 TFLs, a forced fumble and the recovery of that fumble. They did what they could to slow down the offense.
What went wrong: Offensive Line – With only 2 pancakes and allowing 6 TFL and 3 hurries, the O-line, which is filled with a good amount of CPU’s, could have problems in the future against strong D-lines
Recent Game: L 3-24 vs Las Vegas
Record: 1-2
Previous Rank: 10
Next Game: at Ambridge Brigade
12. Chicago Clams - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1218
What went right: QB play – Considering that he was hurried 5 times, sacked 9 times, and had his receivers drop 2 passes, the QB’s morale must have taken a huge time. Regardless, he was still able to stay mistake free.
What went wrong: Offensive Line – Their O-line got completely and utterly dominated. If they continue to have half of their O-line being CPU’s, they will have a long season ahead of them.
Recent Game: L 0-44 vs Denver
Record: 1-2
Previous Rank: 9
Next Game: at Hartford Hellhounds
13. Miami Cyclones - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1955
What went right: Running Backs – In a game pitting teams with similar styles, Miami’s running backs did a decent job with 3.1 yds/carry while breaking an astounding 16 tackles. They kept the game close with their grinding style.
What went wrong: Tackling – In this game solid tackling seemed to be at a premium. With 17 missed tackles, Miami “won” the missed tackles contest, but lost the game because of it.
Recent Game: L 14-20 at Dallas
Record: 1-2
Previous Rank: 13
Next Game: vs Portland Hitmen
14. Portland Hitmen - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1211
What went right: QB play – Under pressure for pretty much the whole game, the two QBs had a respectable game that was statistically altered because of the 5 dropped passes. Despite the adversity, the QBs still completed just over 60% of their throws.
What went wrong: Tackling – Having 10 missed tackles is inexcusable. If this issue isn’t addressed, it could turn out to be a long season for Portland.
Recent Game: L 6-20 vs Oakland
Record: 0-3
Previous Rank: 12
Next Game: at Miami Cyclones
15. Grand Haven Mist - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1222
What went right: Pass Offense – An aerial assault that took advantage of weak cornerback play tagged the n00bs with 300+ yards on over 60% passing.
What went wrong: Receiving corp – With 9 dropped passes and 2 passes that got caught, but then were fumbled away, the receiving corp did not help this team. If they had cut down on their mistakes, this game’s outcome could have been very different.
Recent Game: L 3-20 at New Brunswick
Record: 0-3
Previous Rank: 15
Next Game: at Denver Pirates
16. Ambridge Brigade - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1221
What went right: Kick/Punt Return – It says something when the only positive of the game was a CPU player doing well in kick and punt returns.
What went wrong: Tackling – Granted, they faced a lvl 12 HB, but this was a horrible beat-down. While human players could have done as bad, it makes it worse when practically the whole defense is CPUs.
Recent Game: L 0-35 at RGB
Record: 0-3
Previous Rank: 14
Next Game: vs Spicewood Longhorns
Offensive Player of the Week:
HB Johnny Awooga RGB – 21 rushes, 179 yards (8.5 yds/carry), 4 TDs, 26 Broken Tackles, 0 TFL
Defensive Player of the Week:
DT Tubby Tank Denver – 8 tackles, 4 TFLs, 4 sacks (for 17.5 yds), 1 forced fumble, 0 missed tackles
Special Teams Player of the Week:
K Goal Post Denver – 5/5 in extra points, 3/3 in FGs (25 yds, 29 yds, 44.5 yds)
Game of the Week:
#2 Oakland Wizards vs #1 Waco Davidians
For the third straight week, Waco faces an undefeated opponent, but this time it’s the #2 ranked team. They’ve survived two very close, well fought games. Do they have enough in them to finish off the Wizards?
Prediction: This one is tough, but I’m going to give the nod to the Oakland Wizards because they are not as worn down, but it’ll be a close one. Unfortunately for both teams, it might just come down to who can kick better, which is a total crapshoot. Predicted Score: 13-10
Current “Game of the Week” Record: 1-2
