I awarded a first place vote with 15 points, 2nd with 14, and so on down the line. In the event of a tie an average of the two scores was awarded (ie. tie for 2nd results in an 8.5 for both). Eleven teams participated this week.

Sorry guys... went out of town and was unable to submit this. This wont mean much now as week 3 games have been played but thought I should post it since we had a decent showing. Also, I thought it was interesting to see that West Scranton had replaced Mean Machine in the #1 spot for the week despite Machine taking 8 or the 11 first place votes.

Week 3 Top Ten
1. West Scranton Invaders 154 (2)
2. Mean Machine 153 (8)
3. Banzai Pipeline 'Nites 124
4. Tonga Ikale Tahi 118
5. Fakaofo Bomb Squad 94
5. Melbourne Thorny Devils 94
7. Vanuatu Kava Sharks 89
8. Samoa Gangsters 81
9. Brisbane Heat 80
10. Brantford Mustangs 67

Others Receiving Votes:
Cook Island Convicts 66, Barossa Grapestompers 41 (1), IC Incinerators 36, Fiji Stingers 32, So Cal BDC 24, Wagga Wagga Fighting Squirrels 20, Brisbane Gods 15, Brisbane Bandits 11, Emerald City Flying Monkeys 11, Tongan Crimson Auha 1, Cascade Cajun Crushers 4, Melbourne Dreadnoks 1

Dropped From The Top 10
So Cal BDC

() denotes first places votes

Fun Facts:10 teams were in all 11 submissions (however 1 of these teams did not make the top 10

Thanks to all those who voted this week!!! Again I apologize for falling behind in this poll. Only 1 submission this week (Week 4) and with game 4 tomorrow I will forgo this week and resume with Week 5 following tomorrows games.

I realize we (West Scranton) are pretty good and getting better, but until we can (or anybody can) beat MM, everyone should be voting them number 1. End of story.

I don't mind some ppl putting you guys 1st...what I don't understand is how low they were voted to get 8 first place votes but not get ranked 1st.

Either someone voted them really low in top 10, or 2 or 3 voted them outside of top 3 or 4 spots. Not sure what they were thinking.

So I take it my team was the one that was on 10 ballots but didn't get in?

You would be correct... yall were on all 11 ballots.

Any guesses as to which top 10 was left off at least 1 of the 11 ballots?

I'd have to guess MM, just based on the fact that they didn't get 1st spot with 8 1st place votes

But more likely, Mustangs.

Probably because I forgot to submit my list this week. That usually consists of Mean Machine in the first 10 spots.

Thats crazy MM got 8 first place votes but not ranked #1. Someone is really hatin'.

They are the Champs and until beaten, should be 1. Like said before...end of story.
They will probably be #1 for some time, as the meat of their schedule isnt until later in the season.

I'd be more interested to see the rest of the ballot that had Barossa at #1.

Couldn't have been the Machine.

Eight 1st place votes would give them 120 points. They couldn't make up the other 33 points they scored with only two of the other three ballots voting for them. My guess is that they got the eight 1sts, two 2nds, and an 11th place vote. Someone must have a grudge against them.

Mustangs are a good guess. I'm going to say the Heat were left off, because I'm thinking the odds are good that one or two voters make their selections heavily influenced on the current standings. Since they're 8th in Zeta right now, despite the fact that they're one of the best teams in the league, they may have been left off by someone. Kava Sharks could apply here for the same reasoning, plus the fact that they're coming off a loss. I don't agree with that method myself, especially this early in the season, but it's possible someone else does.

I think its cool to have someone else actually slip in there, if just for one week. IMO there are many different ways you could rank, Recent games/Player talent/hottest cheerleaders.

I could see the logic in MM being one until someone takes it from them. I also see an argument for the Nites to be given some consideration, they lost a tight title game last year and like MM have greatly improved. Tonga should be right there as well...now I know I'm leaving someone off that will probably end up beating us.

Just for the record, our vote of top 5 teams this week I believe was identical with whats up there EXCEPT the order. We of course wouldn't sandbag any team to move up.
