Three Not to be Tangled with
1. Hollywood Knights(3-0)
Hollywood did what we expected them to, lit up the outmatched outlaws as they continue through the easy early season part of their schedule. Now its onto the Manglers another team that should give them no difficulties. But after that the challenge begins.
Next Three Games: Manglers, Hague, Bocs
2. Warsaw Wolves(2-1)
Well it's a ball game now after successive weeks of battling lower tier teams we draw the new and improved Chuck Norris as the Wolves enter into the challenging part of their schedule with a big one. This one has homefield implications written all over it. To the victory goes the spoils and this one should be a dandy. Expect some big plays and big hitting here.
Next Three: Chuck Norris, Vikings, Manlets
3. Chuck Norris(3-0)
Chucks offense set the pace and their defense bottled up the Vikings. The did well to win against both the Manlets and Vikings, this week we find out if they are the new Zeta favorite.
Next Three: Wolves, Gladiators, Bulls
The Potential Contenders
4. Iberian Bocs(2-0)
Iberian Mangled the Manglers and now sets their sights on a much higher level of competition, heading into a three week span that will test their mettle and give them the opportunity to show that they belong among the elite.
Next Three: Pirates, Manlets, Hollywood
5. Hague Pirates(3-0)
Not an also ran anymore trying to angle for the final playoff spot are they. They couldn't handle the Manlets pass rush but did more than enough on the ground the rest of the time to finish this game solidly. Ben Snoox and Danny Howitzer did a great job managing the game and their defense kept the Manlets under control. Big statement game for them and they get another chance to make one this week.
Next Three: Bocs, Hollywood, Mamertini
6. Misc Manlets(1-2)
Yikes, Im not ready to write them off just yet but it aint looking good. Their pass rush was phenominal against a good line by Hague but they couldn't put enough points on the board. I hate to say any early season game is a "must" win but yeah this one against Vienne is a must for them as it doesnt get any easier the first half of the season.
Next Three: Vienne, Bocs, Wolves
Playoff Potential?
7. Vienne Vikings(2-1)
Vienne couldn't handle Chuck but they showed they have some solid chances by not getting blown out. Now they need to show that they are a good team right now in order to be a post-season favorite.
Next Three: Manlets, Wolves, Gladiators
8. Milano Mamertini(3-0)
Still unbeated and still have not played anyone very good, thats not gonna change this week with the Outlaws ,it'll be a bit before we find out just how good the Mamertini are.
Next Three: Outlaws, Manglers, Hague
It's not looking so hot
9. Pamplona Bulls(1-2)
The last team I'll have on the list for now unless one of the other teams racks up some impressive wins or a whole bunch of wins but this is the last team I can see making a playoff push right now. Expect them to push their way into the picture here shortly with contests against the Sidewinders and Tigers.
Next Three: Sidewinders, Tigers, Chuck
Week 3 Games
Game of the Week: Chuck Norris vs. Warsaw Wolves
This one should be a dandy as both teams would like to show they are the team to beat in Zeta. Only Hollywood can lay claim to having shown they are a better team than either of these two and they don't do battle with either of them till late in the season. I think this one goes down to the wire but that the Wolves superior outside speed rushing keeps enough drives alive to get the Wolves into the end zone.
Warsaw 37 Chuck 34
Must See TV: Iberian Bocs vs. Hague Pirates
Hague just showed they are no longer a middle of the Pack team beating teams they should and losing to those they should. Iberian would like to show they are among the elite. I think Hagues new Playmakers make a difference in a game that won't be decided in regulation.
Hague 24 Iberian 21(OT)
Keep an eye on: Misc Manlets vs. Vienne Vikings
I can't stress enough how much the Manlets need this game. They had to know that the early portion of their schedule would be difficult but they need this one other wise they run the risk of a moral spiral and a long second half.
