laugh, I'm fairly sure that sitting out for a season pays for itself. I haven't tested longer, but a player that sits out their first season, and then late boosts the next 3 is likely to end their 4th season at lvl 30 or 31. A player that plays from the beginning will end their 4th season around level 34-35. Depending on the position, the benefits of sitting out actually can outweight the costs.

Very nice DW. Is it worth training str/blk more in your opinion?

So, in a worst case scenario...strength will be triple capped at 22. Damn.
Whats been your strategy for adding points? Are you saving or putting them in beyond the first cap?

Color me impressed, though, in all seriousness.

Nice center. That's really nice. Add one point per level to both till level 22 and he is already got 65 block and 68 str, just from leveling.

Exept that the "sitting out" player can't catch up. He's lv. 29 and the other player of same creation date is lv. 33 - this difference in levels stays forever. The lv. 33 always get's next equipment upgrades first, he already spend those additional 20 SPs and got 4x automatic level upgrades. He already had fun in game he could compete...
The "sitting out" player enjoyes himself by beating up players created a season later (talk about sportsmanship), or he claims to be a great build - for his lv. 29 can somehow almost compete while beeing severly outleveled by those lv. 32 guy (of same or later creation date). And he got the excuse of his low level in case he sucks.

Nah you're missing the big picture here. he will get + 1 to str and blocking per level from level 5 to when it starts to decline(22?) for both of them being capped at 5. the other center who doesn't sit will be higher levels later, but he will have a way better build. even if he screws up a long the way he would be even;y matched with any body 3-5 levels higher with a perfect build.

If the difference between these two players during season 4 is really only 4 levels, the gap has seriously closed. At that level, the level bonus is only worth about 2 SP, so that's about 8SP + the 20 for the higher level (28 SP advantage)
This difference would need to be offset by the additional training and level bonus the single season Super Slow Build got. So how much additional SP did the super slow build gain then?
This is tough to answer explicitly. Both builds get equivalent numbers of trains. However, the Super Slow Build gets more training on primary skills at lower levels allowing it to spend less points to cap in addition to capping skills slightly earlier.
So, for sake of argument let's say the single season super slow build averages 60% (probably a bit high) on two attributes on intense training while the Cap-Focused slow build averages 30% (probably a bit low):
16 intense trains * 2 * 60% = 19.2 SP
16 intense trains * 2 * 30% = 9.6 SP
so a net gain of about 10 SP over the course of season one over the normal build. Give him another five for level bonus advantage and saving SP. That's about a gain of 15 SPs.
Near as I can tell, the super slow build at level 29 is worse off by about 13 SP than the cap focused slowbuild at level 33. If the gap has closed that much by that time. I have my doubts that they would be that close in levels.
That said, regardless of the numbers ya gotta like the build.

here are two players started on s3d2. I asked the owner of the C, and he said he has already boosted this season. I am the owner of the G, and I have not boosted yet this season.

there is currently a 6 level gap, which will shrink to 3 by the end of this (their 4th) season when the G has boosted. I'm not positive the C has boosted every year, and the gap won't shrink any further due to xp floors.
if you can find me another player started at the beginning of s3 that is higher level, I'll be happy to adjust my thinking, but the evidence that I could find (this is just one example), suggests that the gap Does shrink quite a bit.

Without seeing the XP charts for both these players no conclusions can be drawn. Going back through the game log would be too time consuming and tedious (and wouldn't show past boosts). Will he PM you his XP chart so you can compare to yours?
BTW Guardian Legend was one of my favorite NES games.

Yeah, he's at 90 some xp and I'm gonna throw another point into blocking from intense bonus.
