#1 Triple B's 1-0

Proven winners and the cream of the crop of A5, Triple B's looked to be in form as they decimated their East opponent, the HH by over 100. Only a handful of teams have a chance to beat them this year and those chances are slim. Don't expect as big of a blowout of the FMMP, they should keep it respectable. Prediction - TB's by 56.

#2 Unsavory Gentlemen 1-0

A stingy defense and a balanced offensive attack allowed the UG to decimate the slow build Rum Runners. This week the Gentlemen, and I use that term loosely, face a tough Manitoba team that is well coached and looking for an upset. Don't expect it this week though as the UG pull away in the second half. Prediction - UG by 14.

#3 Genosha X-Men 1-0

The X-men opened the season by pissing on the Thunder and their "it's pre-season speech" by trouncing them 70-17. The X-Men have a mini cupcake tour over the next couple of weeks before meeting up with the UG in week 4. Expect this week to be a route as they clip the wings of the queen's angels. Prediction - Genosha by 91.

#4 Manitoba Lions 1-0

The Lions have one of the toughest opening schedules as they face Thunder Bay, The UG, and Prince George to open the season. A great win vs. Thunder Bay, one of the better East teams, nearly propelled Manitoba to the number 3 spot. This week they face a UG team that is hellbent on not opening the season the way they did last year. Expect a close game but in the end Manitoba will not have the firepower to overcome the UG. Prediction - UG by 14.

#5 Prince George Warriors 1-0

The Warriors opened their season against a very competent Storm Trooper team and won in convincing fashion. This week they face a Stault. Ste Marie team that cannot seem to put things together. Demarcus Zippo will put up some good numbers against a team that appears to do little gameplanning. Prediction - PGW by 49.

#6 Alberta Irukandji

Early season top 3, the Irukandji had a very close game against their cross-town rivals. Although pre-season is not a good indicator, the Alberta Gamblers did not look impressive in either contest and for that reason, the Irukandji slip in at #6. They have four tough games ahead as they face a MUCH improved Demos team that can put up numbers in bunches followed by the PGW and two tough A5 newcomers in the Vikinigs and Dragons. Expect this week to be close but the Irukandji should pull away. Prediction - Alberta by 17.

#7 Rancho Penasquitos Thunderbolts 1-0

A very tough team that could have easily made the playoffs in A5 last year and should most definitely do so this year. The Thunderbolts easily defeated their Eastern foe in week 1. This week they face a North Bay drift team that will have a tough time handling the rushing of HB Derrek Smalls. Expect the Thunderbolts to improve to 2-0 and 3-0 next week before facing a tough Genosha team. Prediction - RPT by 21.

#8 Canada Dragons 1-0

The dragons come in lacking the levels that their peers have but make up for the deficency with game planning and great builds. Expect the Dragons to upset more than one of the old A5 teams. After a trouncing of their underpowered Eastern foe the Dragons face a tough Vancouver team in a game that will decide who are the best 2-3 teams that emerge from the pack of the BBB teams. Expect the game to be close but the Dragons should edge out the Vikes. Prediction - Dragons by 7.

#9 Vancouver Vikings 1-0

After cruising to an easy victory in week 1 (most West teams did), the Vikings face the #8 ranked Dragons in a contest that could have playoff implications in the future (just ask the PGW, X-Men, and Manitoba about early season games). Their potent passing attack could provide the Dragons with huge headaches. This game should be close from the start and probably the best game of the week. Prediction - Dragons by 7.

#10 Fort McMurray Mounted Police 0-1

Had one of the tougher opening games with the East. They are here by virtue of the loss but could easily move 4-5 postions higher by the end of the season but don't expect that to happen early as they have a very tough 4 games ahead of them. This week they face the best team in the West in a pride game. Expect them to keep the score reasonable. Prediction - TB's by 56.

#11 Saskatchewan Thrashers 1-0

Ran up the score against the worst team in either league (yep the Care Bears would beat Hudson). This week they face those very Care Bears in a game that should be a cake walk. The Thrashers should move to 2-0 before facing an early season test in the BBB great Rancho Thunderbolts. A win next week would show that the Thrashers have improved since their rocky season 5. Prediction - Thrashers by 54.

#12 F. Hockey Demos 0-1

A MUCH improved squad looks to improve on their dreadful season 5. After a tough opening game that saw them put up no points, the Demos face the Alberta Irukandji and have a slight chance at pulling off the upset. Expect Alberta to pull out the W and the demos to look for their first win in week 3 vs. the FMMP. Prediction - Alberta by 17.

#13 North Bay Drift 1-0

The team that could prove me wrong, the Drift open the season with a 10 point win over a very weak East opponent. This week they play the toughest of the BBB teams, the Rancho Thunderbolts. The Drift may go 1-4 before getting back on the winning track vs. Ste. Marie. This weeks game will be out of reach early. Prediction - Thunderbolts by 21.

#14 Sault Ste. Marie 0-1

No gameplanning, CPU starters, inactive players, and CPU backups galore firmly entrench Sault Ste. Marie in the bottom 3. The team is loaded with cash and could easily improve their position. Actually held a ferocious Port Dover team at bay last week. This week they face the always formidable PGW. Expect a close game early but the PGW pull away. Prediction - PGW by 49.

#15 the queen's angels 0-1

After their opening game the angel's resembled Gabriel in the last scence of Constantine. This week they face a Genosha team who is looking to crush another cupcake so they can spew some more weak smack talk. Expect Genosha to make it ugly and the queen's angels to move to 0-3 before they face they CPU owned Care Bears. They better hope a human doesn't take of the Care Bears or they could be staring an 0-16 season in the face. Prediction - Genosha by 91.

#16 Chilliwack Care Bears 0-1

Much like the 1980's cartoon toys, these guys ended up in the dump. They weren't much before they quit, now they are simply a name. Hopefully some new blood will move in and at least get us some human players to beat up on. Expect this squad to occupy the #16 slot for the remainder of the season.

The Vikings owe the Dragons after the playoffs last year. We beat them in OT during the regular season and had some horrible turnovers in our playoff game against them which cost us the game. It is the game I've been looking forward to during the whole offseason.

I'm hoping to pull a bit of an upset here.

Thanks for the time/energy on this Oscarr.

The Drift certainly have higher goals/expectations here in A#5 than just beating out the 3 dregs of the conference!

We were picked the bottom of the conference last season too. Possibly a good omen for us to be placed there this season.

Cheers!

I have a feeling you guys will surprise us all, that was the reason I put you could prove me wrong. It's a tough row to hoe but you guys gameplan well and there are higher level teams that are open to losses through gameplanning.

I appreciate the rankings very much, but I don't see how alberta should be #6. I think that's being disrespectful to the team. We are better than that and I guess we'll have to go 16-0 before anyone thinks we are a top 3 team in the conference.

I think you guys overrated yourselves last season. Of course if you believe you were a top 5 team last season, you'll think you are a top 3 team this season. Last season I thought of you guys as around #7, and this season I think of you more like #5.

But those are just forum power rankings. The only rankings that really matter are the ones on the league page.

#3 Genosha X-Men 1-0

The X-men opened the season by pissing on the frost and their "it's pre-season speech" by trouncing them 70-17. The X-Men have a mini cupcake tour over the next couple of weeks before meeting up with the UG in week 4. Expect this week to be a route as they clip the wings of the queen's angels. Prediction - Genosha by 91.

um???? 70 on our defense??? Um check again. I know we played with some funky settings but we could put out 4 guys on our defense and hold them to less then 70

try 27 - 10.

I agree ranking don't really matter until later in the season. By the halfway point last season we were only ranked 11 or 12.

What are you talking about man? The X-Men played the Thunder in week 1, not the freeze, and they did win by 70. Got crack?

You won't go 16-0 unfortunately, only the Triple B's have a shot. You received #6 because of how close the game was and the level of competition you faced. Step up this next game and pummel the Demos and we'll see. This is the first poll, it's all about last seasons work and a single game. Don't take it as disrespect, use it as ammunition.

I appreciate the effort. Your just dead wrong and half stupid.

Good day.
