Hello and welcome to Season 6 in Western Europe AA#2 Zeta Conference. My name is Andrew, and I am the team owner of the Lyon Demons. It looks to be another exciting season within our conference with an abundance of high quality A level teams moving up. It will be a different season to that of past. We’ve have lost forum favourites Phisch (Dover) and the ever feminine Dreamgirl (Venice). I think they’ve dodged a bullet here. With the amount of new teams here, who can pick the winner? I will try.
Can one of the new teams spring a surprise? Will it be Marcy, Turin or Nebraska? Will the Rotterdam Cheetahs look to claim the title which they were odds on for last season? Or will the Lyon Demons finally reached the holy land of promotion after 4 years of disappointment? I don’t know. But here is the preview.
The following, in ascending order (First team is weakest. My pick for title is last), are the teams who can mount a serious challenge for the Zeta Conference title. I would also like to explicitly state that this is MY OPINION and that I OFFER NO DISRESPECT to those I did not include. Those with managerial comments responded to my PM:
Team: Hamburg Firestorm
Last Season: Finished in 5th? spot in the Zeta conference and were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.
Star Players: Booya Hype – HB. Klaus Stoertebeker – G.
My Prediction: The Firestorm are always a threatening side. With a strong HB in Booya Hype, they can cause an upset and I think the real top sides will take this team with caution. With that said, I label them a top 6 finish.
Team: Marcy Projects
Last Season: Promoted to the AA leagues after a 15-1 season in A3.
Big signings for the season (management comment): Our major signings so far have been a lvl 31 DE (Stan) 28 WR (Slowy) and a 35 TE (Steve Holt). We may have another lvl 31 DE coming as well.
Any additional comments: This looks like a tough conference, but we've played in a tough conference the last 3 seasons. We were the conference runners-up to Lyon Dynasty (back then it was the Lyon Hippo's) in WEA3's 1st season...so we are familiar with Rotterdam. We also have some history with Hungary so this should be a fun conference to compete in.
Star Players: (WR) Allstar Pimpdaddy with 21 TDs. (QB) Robert LeRoy Parker
My Prediction: Marcy possess a strong blocking and passing game and this results in a dominating passing game. Whilst they will find it a little tougher against stronger secondaries, I do not doubt that this team has the goods to take them to the Top 6.
Team: Nebraska Blackshirts.
Last Season: Lost by 2 points in the Conference championship to Turin after a 14-2 season. They were rightfully promoted artificially
Big signings for the season (management comment): We added a new FB, Center and a new CB these are only 3 new additions.
Aspirations for season (management comment):
We would like to stay compeitive and we believe we have the overall firepower to play for a conference or league championships
What’s new in Season 5 for them (management comment): We have paired with our biggest rival to GM our team and we are helping his team
Any additional comments: Good luck to everyone
My Prediction: With the owner’s reluctance to delve too deep into the transfer market, it becomes evident that this team was ready to move up. With a HB on 51 TDs, and two WRs on over 20, this team is a major offensive threat. And with a total of 7 points being the deficit accumulatively in three matches, their defence is up to scratch too. This team will make the top 4, and boy will they make a run for the title.
Team: Turin THUNDER
Last Season: Unbeaten season and involved in several thunderous (ahah) battles with the Blackshirts.
Big signings for the season (management comment): We lost one of our star LB's, Minko Star (33), who was a one year wonder for us but we were able to pick up, Payton Turner (Lv. 36), to fill that roster spot. We picked up Vontego Cummings (Lv. 34) to now start but we were only looking for a high lvl pack-up and we landed this gem. We also landed 2 very good TE's, a WR, CB, FS, C, OT - mostly to help de-ownerize the team
Aspirations for season (management comment): As with any season I am hoping to make the playoffs (home games preferred) and see where it goes from there. I don't think it will be another 20-0 season but one can hope!
What’s new in Season 5 for them (management comment):
Nothing to much. Screwing around with the new O AI stuff and tiring to figure how best to utilize our talent with it.
How the team operates I guess we operate like any other team. We have a OC and a DC. I recruit and help with the depth chart and scouting. It is a VERY laid back team. Nothing crazy on the forums if we lose (RedmanJB comment: Doesn’t happen too much I guess anyway). No epic meltdowns or panicking. We just set our tactics and do do our thing.
Any additional comments: Were just hoping for another great season and ready to have some fun watching dots!!
My Prediction: If you thought the Blackshirts were bad, the THUNDER bring a whole new world of PAIN. Improved from last season, and drinking the sweet elixir of victory every two days, one wonders if this team can all the way. I’m certainly not doubting them and I bet we’ll have a clearer picture after the Round 3 rumble at the Lyon Demons. Top 4 atleast, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they went all the way.
Team: Lyon Demons (go team!)
Last Season: Finished 15-1 with a loss against the Cheetahs the only blemish. We were defeated by our archrivals Dover in the 2nd round of the Playoffs. Previous seasons include 13-3 and 12-4. Based on this positive progression, I can only assume a 16-0 this season
Big signings for the season (management comment): Our defensive star Infa brings in mate Billiam at DT. Zan Gief comes in to cover the spot left by Pritchard at QB and agent Gaz brings in 5 strong players to rebalance the team after the loss of influential GM HominiVorax. CB ranks also boosted considerably.
Aspirations for season (management comment): We’ve been in the league for 4 seasons now (we started in Season 2). We’ve made the playoffs in the last 3. We’ve come so close yet still cannot reach that holy grail. This season...I want PROMOTION. The entire team has made decision that we are going to stay in this league until we earn it.
What’s new in Season 5 for them (management comment): We lost HominiVorax our offensive GM so hopefully a new manager can come in there. As for the moment, I’ll be working offense and you’ll never know what I’ll throw up (good and bad). So watch out.
Star Players: HB Rodney King, TE The Jeremiah and DE Infa Mulafasi.
My Prediction: The Demons have retained a strong squad that has the potential to go all the way here. We’ve been boosted with some very good signings here and I think we’ll have the ability to topple some of the new teams. I predict a top 3 finish.
Team: Rotterdam Cheetahs
Last Season: 16-0, but got twatted in the 2nd round by Venice
My Prediction: drunkenmonkee and narcissus1 run a very solid outfid in Holland. As a two agent side, this team has looked to retain all of its players, boost at the right time and the entire team unit, tactically, is in unison. They are an incredibly difficult to beat and I predict them to finish within the top 2 this season. My favourites to win.
I would also like to mention the Permian Panthers and the Hungary Hungry Hippos who also possess the ability to challenge the 6 above for a position. And ofcourse, any other team can do it with the right tactics and players. Surprise me.
In addition to the list, I’ve also ranked the interconference match in terms of difficulty. This match is often a decider in league position and in can come as a blessing or absolute nightmare dependent on your opponent.
From weakest to strongest:
Marcy Projects vs Omaha Beach Blackshirts
Nebraska Blackshirts vs Little Italy Goodfellas
Hamburg Firestorm vs Paris Gloutons
Lyon Demons vs Foy Destroyers
Turin THUNDER vs Amsterdam Smokers
Rotterdam Cheetahs vs Vienna Danuba River Raiders
So based on this results we could see the stronger teams under a little more pressure. This’ll result in a very tight league in my opinion and I simply cannot wait for the season to unfold. I have no doubts we will see surprises. I have no doubts that we see some close, close games. This season and the playoffs are set to explode. I’d like to reiterate my welcoming to the best AA league and forum in the world to the new guys and wish all teams in the conference, the best of luck. Thankyou.

) was this statement by TUX: "We have paired with our biggest rival to GM our team and we are helping his team" I had to look with my own eyes to make sure it was Jason. You guys make me laugh. The dynamic duo!!!
