I'll say this..."We'll see what happens." For good or bad, we shall see.

The difference between a democrat and republican, we can admit when we mess up If Obama is as bad as I fear, the democrats will always make an excuse. And yes, I think Bush needs to go and he wasn't the best president. I think a huge mistake was just made, but if not and in 4 years this country is again a world power and looked up to by everyone, I will be the first to admit that I WAS WRONG!!! Somehow, I don't see it happening and bet in 4 years everyone will again "Be ready for a change!"

Ok, woods, dems make and excuse, republicans lie about what they did.

I like obama. However, his worst trait is his economic plan. He wants a TON of social programs, which is what most democrats want.

and dont get me wrong, i think they are GREAT programs....

...but we are in a huge deficit and democrats (and his plan specifically) are not known to cut spending. They increase govt, programs, pass that along....

Again, Obama was a good choice and will be a breath of fresh air, but his weakness is our countries biggest weakness right now....

at least the Dems didn't get a super majority in the Senate. Repubs can still block things. Not sure it will happen but there's still that little check and balance.

Jimmy Carter gave us Ronald Reagan. The exciting part is wondering who will come out of an Obama presidency.

It is a nice change to have a Wednesday after an election without the Democrats crying "Bush stole (another) election!" "He's not my president, I didn't vote for him!" or "No one REALLY voted republican, someone cheated!"

I'm not one to get into a political debate, so I wont...Republicans DO lie, I will agree to that, but are you implying that Dems don't? That's all. I think all politicians lie...I was speaking more in the sense of the population. Dems are typically strong willed, hard headed folk that if it isn't their way, it's the wrong way. As with anything, there ARE exceptions (hell, I am Pro-Choice, but very strong Republican). Just don't come knocking on my door asking for my firearms anytime soon

We'll see what happens, the US is in trouble right now, in a lot of ways, I am all for it if he makes the difference everyone seems to think!

You wont pay higher taxes if you are poor...you will just steal from the people who have worked hard their whole life to get where they are

I tell myself I will stop typing on this thread, can someone please lock me out?

"Spread the wealth" could also mean make more opportunities for more people through encouragement of small businesses. A tax reduction under $200,000 would certainly help most 'Mom and Pop' operations and other such small businesses not to mention individual consumers. The economics of a dollar in an active capitalistic system is that it turns over 15 to 20 times (going from check in hand to bank, to grocery store to farmer to supplier and so forth and so on)--that spreads the wealth and creates opportunities for many people to profit from a single dollar. Lowering taxes puts the money in the system to do just that.

The Marxist philosophy statement is about the government literally taking the money out of your hand and redistributing it--the Obama statement is about tax reduction on the middle class--hardly in the same category. Change your prism and you see different meaning.

I'm willing to bet you don't make more than $250,000 per year. Which, under Obama's plan, you would either have a reduction of taxes or you would see no increase in taxes...

...and another thing is when did $250,000 per year become poor?

If that's the case, then I must be homeless...
