This round all the playoff matchups are very interesting. Every team has a chance to win their game. It should be highly entertaining.
Western Conference:
Spitfire vs Tigers – These two played in the first week of the season (Spitfire won 34-6). I am sure both teams have changed quite a bit since then. So that game may not be a good barometer. It will probably come down to…will AU be able to score enough points against the Spitfires dominating defense. It may stay close early but Spitfires defense is just too much. (24 – 10 Spitfire)
Bloodhounds vs Hood – Another week 1 matchup (Bloodhounds won 22-3). The week 1 result probably has no meaning in this matchup. It is all about revenge. The Hood is seeking revenge for the Bloodhounds knocking them out of the playoffs last year in round two with a stunning OT upset ending the Hoods run at back to back titles. There has been a lot of talk about a Spitfire/Bloodhound conference title game but don’t count out the Hood yet. They get their revenge (20 – 17 Hood)
Eastern Conference:
Bacon vs Sharks – Bacon won a back and forth tussle 35-34. This game should be the same down to the wire with lots of points. Which team will make the fewer mistakes? Well I picked Bacon to make the finals at the beginning of the year but it appears I was wrong. (37 – 30 Sharks)
Moose vs Yaks – These two had an exciting overtime game in the regular season (Moose won 38 – 31). It should be another exciting game……..not really. The yaks were lucky to be that close in the regular season game. Moose dominated the game. If they did not have 6 turnovers it probably would not have been that close. Moose finds a way to stop the turnovers. (38 – 17 Moose)
Good luck to everyone on Saturday!!!
