I didnt feel like responding in every thread where this has been brought up so I'll do it here.

First of all, GG Singapore. I would be lying if I said I wasnt surprised that we won this game. However, I did know for a fact we would give a better performance than we did the first time we met a few days ago.

Ive been reading about how its bullshit that we won, and how the sim must randomly pick upsets because of the huge point swing, and all I have to say is if you truly believe that then there is no reason you should continue to play this game. I would be pissed too if the situation was reversed, but if you guys would actually go analyze every game we've played, every game Singapore played, our first matchup a few days ago, and today's game you should be able to see a big difference (besides the score).

Im not going to tell you what it is, that would be stupid on my part so I'll let you figure it out yourself but I can tell you that its not only because we threw the ball so much. We've done that virtually all season long. But there was a huge difference somewhere else in philosophy and some plays that Ive been saving for the postseason, and if you look hard enough you should easily see why we played so much better this time.

Hey Burma -- don't take it personally that some guys are a bit bitter. You guys have been nothing but class all year long. Rise above the guys who are claiming it's BS -- because you won fair and square.

I do think passing is over powered right now -- but that has nothing to do with the legitimacy of your team and your win. Allow those of us who keep losing in the playoffs our moping, and we'll come around to wishing you well soon enough. You guys have earned everything you've gotten.

Thanks fishdan. Throwing may be a little overpowered but there are things you can do on defense to limit it.

Yeah -- I think we were just all unprepared. The team that ascended last year (Johor) had a monster power back that none of us could stop -- in our seasonal game he broke 50 tackles! This year we all built to beat Johor.

In retrospect, that was quite foolish, considering they are no longer in the conference.

It's not impossible to stop the pass. I don't know exactly what Maui did, but they have gotten a ton of INT's all season, and they have won by shutting down the pass, and running the ball on offense.

I am going to call BS. And yes I am bitter so I will give you that.

1. Yes I figured it would be a LOT closer than our first match, because quite frankly there wasn't that much of a differential in the teams at the time.
2. You guys deserve all the credit in the world. You won the game
3. You guys might very well be better game planners than us. I would argue, but for this post let's say you are.
4. You don't have much better builds then us. You very well might be equal, or even slightly better/worse but there isn't going to be a big gap positively here. Anyone that has ever played for any of my teams knows our builds are always solid (ALL CE, All bonus points in 1-2 core categories, No excessive SA waste, no bonus points in stupid secondary skills, etc.).
5. I will even say you made more adjustments for arguments sake
6. You set you guys to cause fumbles? Wonderful as did many other of our opponents this year with higher level Strength and Tackling guys. But you are talking about a guy fumbling twice, and losing both, when he had fumbled 7 times in 16 previous games. Not totally out of the question for sure. Combine that with another guy that also fumbled today that had fumbled 4 times all season. Add that to a guy that throws a pic once every 47 attempts, and he throws a pic in 31 attempts. None of these are largely off the norm on their own, but all together they are.

But bottom line a 50+ point swing in what 4 days? Come on. I mean the variability of this game is in play, and I am sure you took advantage of things, but to claim you found this big black hole is a little much don't you think?

Truly I wish you guys the best. You guys have been class acts, and I wish you nothing but success. But to say it was normal for a team that out levels you by 3-4 levels minimum at every position, and DOES game plan and not use the Basic AI, to expect a 50+ swing...is well not really calling like it is.

I still believe we are the better team, and if we played 10 scrimmage with the EXACT same game plan we would win 8 or 9 of them, but today you guys were the better team. I have to give that to you.

I didnt say we found a "black hole" nor did I expect us to win. But our team wasnt randomly picked to win a playoff game. Im not letting Bort have his way with my wife in return for wins.

Turnovers happen. Look at the game we had against Maui - we had more total yards than arguably the best team in this league but they picked us off 4 times and beat us. Does that mean we're really better and they just got lucky that game?

As far as the 50 point swing, we didnt even really game plan the first game and had auto adjust set to 100 because we knew we were already in the playoffs and it didnt really matter to us who we played first. We also didnt want to tip our hand for whoever we ended up playing in the first round. Sure we looked at basic stuff and told our guys how to set their tactics but we didnt get in depth at all.

This last game I spent 2 hours studying you guys, we had a lot of guys boost and move equipment around, and I implemented some tactics and several plays Ive been saving all season.

Did I think that would help as much as it did? Not really but I knew it would help a lot.

Gotcha

Not trying to take anything away from you guys just bitter is all. I don't think you were necessarily "picked" to win, because you guys deserved it. You outplayed us, and upsets do happen. Look at the Giants winning the SuperBowl they were what maybe the 8th best team entering the playoffs last year?

Not trying to come off bad. I guess your post just hit a sore spot.

Anyhow good luck the next game - Davao is a beast.

I spent so much time and energy on the Singapore game that I probably wont even start planning for you guys until tomorrow evening.

Umm. Miami actually probably is better than New England this year. But we should save that for another thread.

Let me add one more comment that I think is appropriate. We all appreciate who dangerous Singapore is. Mike, your team is top flight from ownership down to 5th WR. I just went to look at your roster to make a joke about a bad player, but there isn't one, and you've got 95% of your team signed till next year.

This is the 3rd year in a row that Singapore has made an early exit from the playoffs, and that sucks for me because then I think "well, we won't advance next year either because Singapore is better than us."
