#6 Thailand Cheap Toys vs. #2 Singapore Flames

Regular season matchup – Week 12
After Thailand got a field goal on the game’s opening possession, Singapore answered as Flick Wrist connected with Goto Guy for a 40 yard scoring strike. The Toys took a 10-7 lead early in the 2nd quarter on a short Borja Segura run, but the Flames got a 59 yard interception return from OG KUSH late in the 1st half to take a 14-10 lead into halftime. Singapore then took control of the battle with an 8 minute 3rd quarter drive resulting in a 1 yard plunge by Sammy Dillon and a two touchdown lead. Two 4th quarter turnovers kept the Toys at bay as Singapore got the 24-10 win.

Thailand Cheap Toys 13-4

1st round playoff game

A 36 yd field goal by Brian Dropkick with 1:08 left in the game delivered Thailand the 20-17 win, their 2nd win over the Rush this season. The game seesawed back and forth as the teams matched scores all game long. San Fran hit the Toys early when the 3rd play from scrimmage was a pick by Brandon Slayer, giving the Rush the ball deep in Toys territory. Three plays later, Chazz Michael Michaels hooked up with Michael Fowler for the 7-0 Addiction lead. Thailand answered with a 9 play drive following the kickoff, ending with 5 yard pass from Allan Czervik to Hal Hunter for a 7-7 score. Late in the first, the Rush retook the lead on Chazz Michael Michaels’ 2nd TD pass to Michael Fowler. The Toys would get a 2nd quarter field goal but trailed 14-10 at the half. San Fran quickly moved into Thailand territory with the opening 2nd half drive, but Daryll Lee Cullum came up with a key interception. Thailand then went on an 86 yard, 8 minute drive to take the lead back on a 1 yard Hal Hunter run. The Rush got a 31 yard field goal to tie the score as the 3rd quarter neared its conclusion. With neither team threatened in the 4th quarter until Thailand got the ball with 4:21 remaining. From their 20 yard line, the Toys offense moved into field goal position with a 13 play drive that included two big 3rd down pass conversions by QB Allan Czervik, setting up the Dropkick game winner.
-----------

Singapore Flames 15-2

1st round playoff game

The Flames jumped out to a 27-0 halftime lead against the Garut Fire Horses, moving the ball almost at will. On the other side of the ball, after 4 three & outs and an interception, the Horses got their first first down of the game with 27 seconds to go in the half. A fourth quarter TD pass was much too little, much too late for Garut. Leikneih Ecstasy was 5 for 5 in field goals, including a 52 yarder early in the 4th quarter. Singpore’s balanced attacked total 428 yards for the game – 230 on the ground & 198 through the air. HB Tank Gore had 157 of the rushing yards and the QB tandem of Jonny Cannonshow and Flick Wrist completed 23 of 32 passes.
------------

Prediction:

The key to the game will be for the Toys to avoid the turnovers that cost them dearly in their regular season matchup. If they can, the Flames red zone problems in their first round playoff game had better be solved. I see the Flames having to settle for field goals too often in this one and with the game on the line in the 4th quarter, they fail to punch it into the endzone when they must. Toys 24 Flames 20.

#4 Algeria Addiction vs. #1 Krungthep Garudas

Regular season matchup – Week 15
With under two minutes to go in the 1st half, Krungthep got a reception by DeAndre Cash, capping a 17 play drive, for the game’s first touchdown and a 7-3 halftime lead. But on the first possession of the second half, Algeria’s Simister stepped in front of a Ekapob Ukritnukun pass and returned an interception 56 yards for a 10-7 Addiction lead. Krungthep answered with another long drive to get a field goal and tie the score at 10. A three and out gave the Garudas a short field, resulting in a 10 play drive ending with a 3 yard TD rush by Yuri the Axe and a 17-10 lead. Algeria got an early 4th quarter field goal but they turned the ball over on downs at the Garuda 20 yard line with just over two minutes to go when I.P. Funnycolours dropped a 4th down pass. The Garudas held on for the 17-13 win.

Algeria Addiction 14-3

1st round playoff game

The Addiction first offensive play was a 65 yard pass play (Joe Kane to Stumpy Marshall), one play later Kane hooked up with I.P. Funnycolours for the touchdown. Jack Automatic added field goals of 21, 49, 52, and 42 yards to get the Addiction by first round opponent the Pontianak Firebirds 25-10. Leading 16-10 late in the 3rd quarter, the Addiction went on a 21-play drive that ended in a Name Redacted two yard TD burst. The drive consumed almost 10 minutes of game clock and spelled the end for the upset minded Firebirds.

-----------

Krungthep Addition 17-0

1st round playoff game

The Garudas used three Yuri the Axe TD runs to jump out to a 28-0 lead midway through the 2nd quarter and never looked back against the Tibet Psychonauts. Axe had 5 TDs on the day and combined with Donko von Punchstania to give Krungthep nearly 400 yards on the ground for the game. A Tibet interception return (one of 3 INTs by the Krungthep QBs) was their lone touchdown on the day as the Garudas eased into the second round with a 58-16 win.

------------

Prediction:

Two defensive juggernauts go at it for the chance to move on. More than likely, Algeria will depend on the arm and decision making of QB Joe Kane to sustain drives against the Garuda defense. Look for him to take some shots downfield to variety of different receivers. When Krungthep has the ball, the Addiction will face another heavy dose of HBs Yuri the Axe & Donko von Punchstania. But if they can shackle the Garuda running game and make QBs Ekapob Ukritnukun and Madrak Ironhide beat them, there will be turnovers to be had. The Addiction does just that and turns a 4th quarter turnover into the winning field goal. Algeria 12 Krungthep 10.

Good luck to Forward Lateral and the Algeria Addiction. You guys have been one of the best teams in SEA AA#1 since we joined each and every season. It'll be extremely difficult to win two games in a row versus you, but I'm hoping we can pull it off. Who ever wins, is going to be facing a monster in the conference final.. going to be brutally close games from here on out.

Well, if it wasn't for the 16 point meltdown in the 4th quarter...we would've beat you, instead we lose 20-23, good game Flames.
