Elephant Conference
1. Kigali Silverbacks (15-2) vs 4. EEORG Bastards (14-3)
Last Matchup: EEORG W, 30-29.
EEORG proved me wrong last game by winning a battle vs Zanzibar in round one. Kigali won as expected and will have no more gimme games from here on out. This is when the playoffs really get exciting, when anyone can beat anyone. Kigali may look like the better team on paper and have the better record, but EEORG has the confidence from beating them last time. I think this game will be decided by 1 or 2 big plays/turnovers. In the end I say EEORG pulls it out with their gameplanning setting up a potential war with DD if DD wins in their game vs Ghana.
Kigali 17, EEORG 28
2. Ghana Buffalos (14-3) vs. 3. Doinitin Djibouti (14-3)
Last Matchup: DD W, 54-10
Don't expect this game to turn out the way their last matchup only a few days ago did. I think DD got some lucky breaks and Ghana overlooked them a bit, especially DDs fierce defensive ends. Both teams have always relied on their running games so it should be interesting if both teams decide to stay on that path. On paper Ghana has the levels and looks awfully intimidating, but DDs slow build techniques over the past few seasons puts these teams about equal. If Ghana can limit the turnovers from either throwing interceptions or fumbling this could be a very tight game. If not, expect a blow out in DDs favor. Either way, I gotta go with my boys from Djibouti.
Ghana 17, DD 31
