Elephant Conference
1. Kigali Silverbacks (14-2) vs 8. Senegal NATIONALS (8-8)
Last Matchup: Kigali W, 20-16.
Interesting matchup here as Senegal has kept it close with about every top team including Kigali during the regular season. Senegal is coming off a very good win over a top Lion opponent to get into the playoffs. It would be more impressive though if Lion weren't a bunch of scrubs. Although there last game was close, I think Kigali will step it up in the playoffs with a blowout win.
Kigali 48, Senegal 13
4. EEORG Bastards (13-3) vs. 5. Zanzibar Leopards (13-3)
Last Matchup: EEORG W, 35-28
Game of the week IMO. Both teams have a lot of talent and their records show it with a 13-3 regular season record. The last time they played EEORG won in dramatic fashion, scoring 14 points in the last 2 minutes of the game. Unfortunately for EEORG, I don't see Zanzibar committing 3 turnovers again and I expect them to keep the ball in the hands of their rbs for the win. I also don't like the new name, Togo was much easier to say. For that it will be a two TD victory for the Leopards.
Zanzibar 27, EEORG, 13
2. Ghana Buffalos (13-3) vs. 7. Sierra Leone Magicians (9-7)
Last Matchup: Ghana W, 55-3
All signs are pointing towards Ghana to blow SLM out of the water. Ghana pretty much gave SLM no life in their last matchup. The Buffalos are going to come out pissed off after losing some key games down the stretch. I think they will be a much different team in the playoffs. SLM has been eerily quiet this season though. Are they going to boost last minute and make this game a battle or are they truly done for? If they don't boost, I say Ghana wins this one pretty easily.
Ghana 38, SLM 7
3. Doinitin Djibouti (13-3) vs. 6. Cairo Crocodiles (11-5)
Last Matchup: DD W, 34-7
Hmmmm, rivals from the start. Slow build vs slow build. Cairo had DDs number early in the rivalry, but DD has since ended Cairo's win streak over Djibouti with a blowout victory earlier in the season. DD has recently boosted and has looked unstoppable since the boost. Cairo appears to be down and out wishing they played a different team after DD discovered a thread in the bugs forum created by one of their GMs trying to flee from DD and face Ghana instead. Can Cairo pull off a miracle and keep DD in Africa AA? That answer is quite simply..No.
DD 50, Cairo 13
