Two games left until the post-season and things are getting exciting.

Stakes are getting higher than even and some teams are falling by the way side.

x - clinched playoff spot
y- clinched first round home game
z- clinched home field the rest of the way

In a Class of their own

1. New Jersey Crocodiles(15-0){z}
The Crocs own homefield now for as long as they are in the Zeta playoffs they also get a round 2 matchup against either Hollywood or the Wolves, either is certainly preferably to a pre-mature battle against the Legion or Draftniks. Congrats to them, the question is now can they complete a perfect season?
Alpha Opponent: Admirals(12-2-1)

2. Roman Legion(14-1){y}
The Legion have nothing to play for but pride they are locked in as the #2 seed in zeta and face what should be an easy victory for them against the Darkwolves. The Legion can only help Zeta but extolling a little Zeta pride.
Alpha Opponent: Darkwolves(6-9)

3. Walterfootball.com Draftniks(12-2){y}
Walter comes off a slightly tougher than expected game against the Vikings, but not too close. They are locked into the #3 Seed and play a team looking for a win and playing for position, again Walter is playing for Zeta Pride.
Who's Next: Mauraders(10-5)

As Dangerous as anyone

4. Hollywood Knights(11-4){x}
For the second straight week Hollywood survives a three point game, this time its the Bocs who come up just a tad short and Hollywood still controls their own homefield destiny in part due to some questionable late game playmaking decisions by the Bocs as their final two drives featured a potential game tying FG where they went for it on 4th down, and their final drive involved two medium passes and a run with less than a minute left. Barcelona is in the exact same position as Hollywood, win and they hold onto homefield, lose and undoubtedly one of the teams behind them will be happy to take homefield from them.
Alpha Opponent: Barcelona(11-4)
Playoff Scenario: Clinches a first round home game with a win, or a loss and Wolves loss

5. Warsaw Wolves(11-4){x}
Playing the hapless Chiefs week 16 and while they would love to support Zeta Pride they are obviously rooting for the Nine Tailed Foxes to shut down Hollywood's big play passing game and help out their fellow members of Genus Canidae.
Alpha Opponent: Chiefs(0-15)
Playoff Scenario: Clinches a homefield game with a win and loss or tie by Hollywood

In with no doubt about it

6. Hague Pirates(9-6){x}{499}
Hague clinched in grand fashion with a 114-10 thrashing of the Tigers. They play a tough opponent week 16 and only appear to need the game for playoff positioning.
Alpha Opponent: Don's(12-2-1)
Playoff Scenarios:
Are the 6th Seed: With a win and a loss by the Manlets
Are the 7th Seed: with a win and manlets win, or losses by both teams and a loss by the Bocs
Are the 8th Seed: With a loss and Bocs win

7. Misc Manlets(9-6){724}{x}
Clinched by kicking Chuck Norris squarely in the face its a good thing too, they get to spend week 16 battling Alpha's currently #1 team(who Im sure would like to stay that way) and have a tough road of it, look at it this way it'll prep them well for either the Legion or Draftniks.
Alpha Opponent: Asylum(13-2)
Are the 6th Seed: With a win
Are the 7th Seed: with a loss and Hague win
Are the 8th seed: with a loss and Bocs win

Controls their own destiny:

8. Iberian Bocs (8-6) {611}
The Bocs came up three points shy against the Knights and it may cost them. On the other hand they do control their own destiny here, win and they are in the post-season. It'll take some good gameplanning to down the Playboys and as always with this team - it'll depend on if we see Dr. Jekyl or Mr. Hide from them. They have to like their chances though win or lose this week.
Left to play: Playboys(10-4-1)
Playoff Scenario
Are the 6th Seed: with a win, losses by Hague and the Manlets and ending up with the highest points of the 3
Are the 7th Seed: with a win, and a loss by the Manlets
Are the 8th Seed: with a win, or a loss and a loss or tie by either the Mamertini or Norris, or a loss and wins by the mamertini and Norris that dont take them over on points scored

Still Alive(Barely)

9. Milano Mamertini(7-8){456}
Took them all season to get up here but yes the Mamertini are alive for the post-season. They do need some serious help though and must of course help themeselves by winning huge against the Vikings from Alpha. They also need to score 150+ points and have a miracle happen but I put them up here to acknowledge their great run at it here late in the season.
Alpha Opponent: Gothenburg Vikings(6-9)
Playoff Scenario: In with a win, Bocs loss, Chuck win and need to end up with the most points scored of the 3

10. Chuck Norris(7-8) {569}
They have lost five straight and should consider themselves fortunate to have a pulse. They actually have the best chance other than the Bocs to advance given their season long points total and their matchup with an Alpha celler dweller.
Next Three: Royals(2-13)
Playoff Scenario: In with a win, Milano win, Bocs loss to end up with the higest score of the three

Alpha vs. Zeta Matchups

Game of the Week: N.J. Crocodiles vs. Amsterdam Admirals
Perfection is on the line for the Crocs who try to become the league's only undefeated team. Amsterdam is gauranteed at least 1 home game but surely would like to move into or maintain a higher seating in a wide open Alpha conference. This one should be close in close games this season the Crocs win my prediction a touchdown pass to Ben Sylvester in OT wins the game.
Crocs 30 Admirals 24 (OT)

Must See TV: Hollwood Knights vs. Barcelona Nine Tailed Foxes
Talk about implications, I cant remember a time where both teams needed this game to maintain homefield, it's simple for both win and they keep homefield lose and its back to clipping coupons as the road team instead of a big payday. The Wolves are sending the foxes all the game tape they want the Knights have been clutch recently but I think the foxes secondary contains the Knights and they pull away in this one.
Barcelona 27 Knights 17

Pride on the Line: Walterfootball Draftniks vs. Shetland Maruaders
A battle matching up two 10+ win teams the Drafniks have nothing to play for, the Mauraders only are playing for positioning. The pride of both conferences though will be on the line in what should be a fun game, at least early.
Draftniks 31 Mauraders 10

Catalyst Game: Milano Mamertini vs. Gothenburg Vikings
A matchup up of two pretty even teams but with implications on the line. The Vikings are out of the playoffs in Alpha but the Mamertini have a mathematical sliver of hope and Chuck Norris needs the Mamertini to win in order to give them any shot at the post-season (ironic how the 3 way ties work). The Mamertini are hot and will be dangerous next season so Im sure even if they dont make it .500 and a strong finish means something.
Mamertini 24 Vikings 21

Other Action:
Roman Legion 34 Toulose Dark Wolves 7
Warsaw Wolves 94 Manchester Chiefs 13
Palermo Dons 22 Hague Pirates 17
Arkham Asylum 39 Misc Manlets 21
Cologne Playboys 32 Iberian Bocs 24
Chuck Norris 83 London Royals 0
Vatican City Popes 38 Pamplona Bulls 24
Vienne Vikings 35 Hakesov Lumberjacks 3
Constantinople Knights 30 PimPin Tigers 20
Tupelo Silver Bullets 54 Luxemborg Tigers 0
Arizona Wildcats 44 Luxembord Sidewinders 13
Dundeee Destroyers 154 Athens Minotaurs 7

This would Leave Zeta First Round Matchups as Follows:

Chuck Norris (8) at New Jersey Crocodiles(1)

Hollywood Knights(5) at Warsaw Wolves (4)

Hague Pirates(7) at Roman Legion (2)

Misc Manlets (6) at Walterfootball.com Draftniks (3)

Great write-up once again. Hope we finish out the season undefeated. Tough one looming though.

I believe that bocs already we are classified for playoff. In case of triple tie between Bocs, Mamertini and Chuck Norris, I believe that the rules say the following thing:

How are ties broken in the standing?
a. If there are only 2 teams, it's just based upon the head-to-head matchup
b. If there are more than 2 teams, then it's based upon these factor in this order:
b.1 of head-to-head wins against the other teams with the same record
b.2 of points scored
b.3 of points allowed.

And the Bocs we have gained our match against the Milano Mamertini and chuck norris.

Greetings

we'd be lucky to just lose by 6 in regulation, let alone in OT

Go get em Hollywood!

Make me an extra 4,000,000.

EDIT: FYI - Barcelona also needs to win to hold their #4 spot assuming the popes can beat the Pamplona Bulls. Even if Hollywood ties Barcelona, we hold the tiebreak.

I predict a tie....just because it will be a big kick in the balls...a loss and we can say it wasn't meant to be but a tie is a sign that we pissed off someone somewhere that we shouldn't have...

I do agree with you william78, that we lost today because of some questionable calls at the end of 4th quarter, but is very difficult to keep the playbook updated with only 3 active members on the team and very little time to spend on the game.

I'm surprised how could we won 8 games this season that way.

Next season will be different as I should have some more time, I hope some of you are still here so we can compete again.

Btw, I would like a rematch of the Wolves vs Bocs after the playoffs, I would handle the invitation if you agree. Let me know what you think.

Thanks and good write up, as always!

Thanks for the compliment I'm trying not to be done with the playoffs too soon but certainly wouldn't mind a friendly re-match once both of us are done. If you could manage to upset the Crocs and I can get by Hollywood I'll certainly take the second round home game as well

way too much math and logic involved for these playoff scenarios
