This past week had no major upsets but it did determine the outcome of the 5th and 6th playoff positions as well as solidified the #7 and #8 playoff teams.

Game of the week:

Unsavory Gentlemen vs. Calgary Destroyers

Playoff Hunt:

The top 6 positions have been set with only PGW and Genosha left to determine the order. While both teams should feel good for making the playoffs, their chance of making it out of round 1 vs Calgary or Niagara is 100-1. PGW should win their remaining two games and end up at 10-6. Genosha has a much tougher Eastern Conference game and may end up at 9-7 pulling the final playoff spot.

#1 Calgary Destroyers 14-0-0
the Destroyers defeated the Sasquatch in a very convincing manner and look poised to finish the season undefeated. The only team standing in their way is the Unsavory Gentlemen, the team that pulled off the upset of Niagara last season. Look for this to be a tough, physical, and low scoring affair. Prediction - Calgary by 7.

#2 Niagara Nightmare 13-1-0
Hasn't looked their usual dominating selves as they gave up 21 points to the two league cupcakes. This week they face the Irukandji who look to add at least 1 upper tier victory to their season 5 resume. Expect a convincing win by the Nightmare as they prepare for their Eastern Conference game vs. the powerful Pounders. Prediction - Nightmare by 28.

#3 Saskatoon Sasquatch 12-2-0
Played well against the best and look ready to make a name for themselves in the playoffs. This week they face the up and coming Saskatchewan Thrashers in a game that will get ugly in a hurry. Prediction - Saskatoon by 42.

#4 Shilo Silly Nannies 11-3-0
The Silly Nannies looked primed for the playoffs as they easily dispatched the Thrashers posting a shutout in the process. This week they face a Demos team that offers little in the way of competition for this top tier team. Prediction - Shiloh by 56.

#5 Unsavory Gentlemen 10-4
The UG looked a bit sluggish vs. the Irukandji in a game that should have been a measuring point for the playoffs and vs. this weeks foe, Calgary. Calgary looks ready to hoist the undefeated banner and the UG are the only team standing in the way. Expect an old school Bears vs. Packers game. Prediction - Calgary by 7.

#6 Alberta Irukandji 9-5-0
The Irukandji are finishing up their rough stretch of three games with an extremely tough test vs the Niagara Nightmare. The Nightmare have looked less than stellar vs the Piikoi and Bison but I suspect they were toying with some new plays and formations. This week they should be back in Championship form. Prediction - Nightmare by 28.

#7 Prince George 8-6
Had little trouble with the Care Bears in a game that was about as exciting as watching paint dry. This week they sip on Buffalo broth as they hand the Bison their 14th loss of the season. Prediction - PGW by 35.

#8 Genosha X-men 8-6
The X-Men are probably the happiest team in the West as they continue their cupcake tour. They looked extremely weak vs. the Bison as they were only able to post a 35 point win vs a team that has an average player level in the mid-late teens. For that reason the X-Men move to the #8 slot in the power rankings. This week they face the Piikoi before a very tough game vs. Alberta in the East. This should be a cut and dry win for the X-Men. Prediction - X-Men by 35

#9 Manitoba Lions 6-8-0
So close but yet so far. The Lions gave it a run but the schedule was not in their favor. They should finish at 8-8 and look to be poised to be in the playoffs in season six. Expect a fairly easy W this week as they play the Hangmen who continue to falter. Prediction - Lions by 14.

#10 Chilliwack Care Bears 6-8
The Care Bears finally get a breather after facing a brutal late season schedule. A pre-season top 5 team in my eyes has slipped all the way to the bottom of the middle tier teams. This week they face Ste. Marie in a game they SHOULD win. After the game planning exhibited in the previous weeks this would be an upset in the making. I expect the Care Bears to come out ahead. Prediction - Care Bears by 21.

#11 Saskatchewan 4-10-0
The loveable losers of A5, you would love to see them finish the season with a flourish but alas, they play the most difficult final three games of the season but do have a chance at a W in week 16. This week they play Saskatoon who would like a convincing win after falling to Calgary. They move up 1 spot in the power rankings due to the horrid play of the Hangmen. Prediction - Saskatoon by 42.

#12 Northside Hangmen 4-10-0
A team with much promise in the pre-season has slipped down the rankings on a weekly basis. This week they play the Manitoba Lions who look to finish the season at .500. Are they Hangmen in trouble for season 6, time will tell? Prediction - Lions by 14.

#13 Fhockey.com Demos 3-11-0
Showed some life as they put up 28 points against the improving Lions. Still the best of the worst, the Demos only hope of winning this week is if they bludgeon the Nannies with hockey sticks . Prediction - Shiloh by 56.

#14 Sault Ste. Marie Harbingers 2-12-0
Lost a close game vs. the Hangmen. Unfortunately they look to wrap up the season with two straight losses. They have the slimest of chances vs the Care Bears but don't expect it to happen. Prediction - Chilliwack by 21.

#15 Buffalo Bison 1-13-0
Could shock the world with a win vs. the PGW but there is zero chance it will happen. Expect a resounding defeat by PGW as they further solidify the #7 playoff spot. Prediction - PGW by 35.

#16 Piikoi Jellys 0-14-0
Looked improved as they faced the powerhouse Nightmare. Holding a team of their caliber to less than 65 while scoring two touchdowns was a near win for the last placed Jelly's. This week they could throw the playoff race into a frenzy and give the Lions one last shot at the playoffs. It would be a true mirace and I don't believe in miracles. Prediction - X-Men by 35.

I'll be happy if we keep it within 7. I think Calgary beats us by 13 though.

We'll see.

Yeah I'm guessing more as well, but you hate to down your own team. I'm trying to be optimistic but...

Oh I'm not hating anything, I think we are the third best team in the Conference.

I just think Calgary is better as far as depth goes.

You set that up like a softball and I have vowed not to take advantage of another member of the Druez family. Sorry about your mom.

Well I haven't made such a vow and to prove it I'm off to take advantage of Druez's mom.

Great job on the rankings.

I'll take the over on 13 and the under on 35.

Nah, I think you guys keep it closer than that against the Eagles. I say they only beat you guys by 20.
