This week was dominated by a couple of fantastic games between Shiloh and Manitoba and Chilliwack and Genosha. The Lions were officially eliminated from the playoffs and the hopes of Chiliwack ride on beating PGW and being able to pull off a win vs a tough Eastern foe.
Game(s) of the week:
Chilliwack vs. PGW - This game should decide the eighth and final playoff spot.
Calgary vs. Saskatoon - While holding little meaning in the playoff picture, it will serve note as to wether or not the Sasquatch are ready to run with the big dogs.
Playoff Hunt:
The Top 7 teams are slotted as Genosha looks to finish 9-7 and take the 7th playoff spot. This week will see who will be in the drivers seat for the eighth and final spot and right now it looks as though PGW control their own desity. PGW faces Chilliwack and then follows up with games vs. St. M and Windsor, games which they should win. Chilliwack on the other hand play PGW and a very good Thunder Bay team from the East.
#1 Calgary Destroyers 13-0-0
The Destroyer's easily dispatched the newly reformed Thrashers in what could have been a game they overlooked and would have only won by 42 or so. The Destroyer's looked to be in championship form. This week they face a Saskatoon team out to prove themselves as an elite team in the East. This game should go down to the wire but in the end the champs are the champs. Prediction - Calgary by 8
#2 Niagara Nightmare 12-1-0
Failed to deliver my prediction of a 91 point defeat but easily defeated the ill prepared Bison. This weak they feast on some Jelly and no doubt, plate fulls of pancakes. The Piikoi Jelly are in for a world of hurt. Prediction - Nightmare by 49.
#3 Saskatoon Sasquatch 12-1-0
The Sasquatch looked playoff primed as they easily dispatched the slipping Irukandji by 34. This week they play in one of the games of the week vs. last years Western Conference Champs. Look for a tight game until the end. Prediction - Calgary by 8.
#4 Shilo Silly Nannies 10-2-0
The Nannies nearly put their head in the Lions mouth as they pulled out a close victory vs. Manitoba. This ended any hope of a Manitoba playoff run and exposed some flaws in the Silly Nannies game plan. This week the Nannies host the Thrashers. Reports are that Silly Nanny Coach Herbert has been offering the younger Thrasher Players popsicles. Prediction - Shiloh by 35.
#5 Unsavory Gentlemen 9-4
The UG crushed any sting that the Jellyfish had and played one of the most dominating games of the week. The top 4 teams are no doubt taking notice of the re-emerging UG. This week they face a test in the Alberta Irukandji in a game that should decide who is seeded 5th / 6th in the playoffs. Prediction - UG by 14.
#6 Alberta Irukandji 9-4-0
The Irukandji have somewhat lost their sting as they are easily dispatched by the well prepared Sasquatch. This week they face the UG and hope they can regain their early season magic. This should be a close game from the get go. Prediction - UG by 14.
#7 Genosha X-men 7-6
The X-Men are riding a 6 game winning streak. Who would have thought the 1-6 X-Men would have secured a playoff spot by the end of week 13? This week starts a two week feeding frenzy as they feast on the West cupcakes Buffalo and Piikoi. Prediction - X-Men by 35
#8 Prince George 7-6
Had a much closer game vs. the Hangmen as they would have liked. This week they play in a very important playoff deciding game vs. Chilliwack. This game should decide the 8th and final spot in the West. Expect a close game from the start Prediction - PGW by 7.
#9 Manitoba Lions 5-8-0
The Lions made a terrific showing vs. Shiloh and proved they are an up and coming team. They showed glimpses of their early season form and should be a lock to make the playoffs next season. They still have a glimmer of hope to make the playoff but the chances are about the same as Druez's mom not being a whore. This week they face an overmatched Demos team and should be able to sleep walk to a victory. Prediction - Lions by 21.
#10 Chilliwack Care Bears 6-7
The Care Bears continue to tumble down the ranks with a loss to the X-Men. They have a slim light of hope to make the playoffs but with their recent play I would not be surprised if they lose the remainder of their games. This week they play in a must win game vs. PGW in what should be a very good matchup. Expect the front page of the Prince George Citizen to look something like this:

The puzzling Hangmen just cannot get it together. This week they have a chance to put one in the win column as they play host to Ste. Marie. A closer game vs. Manitoba leads me to believe they may have actually tried to make a game plan. Prediction - Hangmen by 28.
#12 Saskatchewan 4-9-0
You gotta feel bad for these guys. After going 4-7 they are forced to face Alberta, Calgary, Shiloh, Saskatoon, and the Eastern powerhouse Quebec. They will go winless for the remainder of the season but do have an excited owner who I'm sure will guide them toward the playoffs next season. Prediction - Shiloh by 35.

The Demos are cheering with their crushing defeat of Ste. Marie. This week the Demos Host the Manitoba Lions in a game they have little chance at winning. Expect a route as the Demos lose by 21. Prediction - Lions by 21.
#14 Sault Ste. Marie Harbingers 2-11-0
Were soundly defeated by the Demos in a game that meant was worth less than my retirement account is at the moment. For those wishing to know what a Harbringer was, apparently something along these lines:

Expect another loss as the Harbringers travel to Northside. Prediction - Hangmen by 28.

In week 13 the Bison held Niagara under 70 points and actually tacked 7 on the score board. This week they get mounted by the X-Men in a game that should be about as close as Druez's mom getting into a pair of size 2 jeans. Prediction - X-Men by 35.

I take back everything I said about their play vs. Saskatoon. The Jellys were dominated by the UG worse than any other team the entire season. This week the Jellys host Niagara in a game that you just can't say anything funny about. It will be as ugly as anyone's mom you wanna make fun of, Uma Thurman ugly. Prediction - Niagara by 49.
