Playoffs are right around the corner and the stakes are getting high for several teams read on to see who, more detailed playoff scenarios will be published next week as right now the teams at the bottom have way too many to fathom.
x - clinched playoff spot
y- clinched first round home game
z- clinched home field the rest of the way
In a Class of their own
1. New Jersey Crocodiles(13-0){x,y}
Ho, hum could be playing their first round opponent from the post-season (if Chuck is lucky) or could just be knocking them out this week.
Who's left: Chuck, Bulls, Admirals
Projected: 16-0
Post-Season Note: Clinches Homefield throught with wins against Chuck and the Bulls
2. Roman Legion(12-1){x,y}
Took care of business against the Vikings 39-13 and seem like they will be on autopilot until the post-season but watch out both Hague and the Mamertini have been making noise of late.
Who's Left: Hague, Mamertini, Darkwolves
Projected Record: 15-1
3. Walterfootball.com Draftniks(11-2){x}
Stuck in the third spot from all apparent looks and obviously drooling for a re-match with the Legion. Expect them to toy around the rest of the way but not show anything too serious.
Who's Next: Bulls, Vikings, Mauraders
Projected: 14-2
Post-Season Note: Clinches a homefield game with a Wolves win, or a win in any of their three remaining games
As Dangerous as anyone
4. Warsaw Wolves(10-3){x}
For the Wolves its as simple as it gets beat Hollywood and secure homefield in round 1. Lose and they can still host if Hollywood loses week 16 but the Knights have boosted and these two seem destined to dance again in four weeks regardless of the outcome of this one.
Who's Next: Hollywood, C-Knights, Chiefs
Projected Record: 13-3
Playoff Note: Clinches Homefield in round 1 with a victory against Hollywood
5. Hollywood Knights(9-4)
Now it gets interesting, Wolves verus Knights a boat load of money on the line for both teams, not to mention the fact that they will play each other again in round 1. Both teams love to score who will score more may be the question?
Who's left: Wolves, Bocs, Barcelona
PROJECTED RECORD: 10-6
Looking like Locks
6. Hague Pirates(8-5)
Hague has reeled off 5 in a row including wins against quality teams like Hollywood and Vienne. They should hold onto this spot and draw the Draftniks in the opening round I dont envy them that but they have shown they have some real character fighting from a mid-season 3-5 record.
Who's Left: Legion, Tigers, Don's
Projected: 9-7
Fighting for the last two spots
7. Misc Manlets(7-6){523}
Beginninng to fade and while I still favor them in the event of a three way tie at the bottom clearly they are treading on thin ice. Athens isnt a team that has a remote chance of beating them but a deranged mad man of Chuck Norris team desperate to win may be. Their odds of beating the Asylum are very very small.
Who's Next: Athens, Chuck, Asylum
Projected: 9-7
8. Iberian Bocs (7-6) {501}
Needed to beat the Manlets and did just that in a close tough fought game that was never seperated by more than 1 score. Managed to take care of business and now seem to have secured some playoff currency as they face the undermanned slowbuilding Sidewinders. Are they peaking at the right time?
Left to play: Sidewinders, Hollywood, Playboys
EXPECTED RECORD: 8-8
Battling for 8th:
9. Vienne Vikings(6-7) {463}
Played the Legion pretty well but didnt get the miracle they needed. Thats fine no-one expected them to but they must beat the suddenly surging Mamertini and probably by alot in order to catch up in terms of overall points scored.
Who's Next: Mamertini, Draftniks, Lumberjacks
Projected: 8-8
11. Chuck Norris(7-6) {436}
Another fading team that very quickly is going to be in must win mode, if they are not already - really long odds here to make the post-season as they will need to upset the Manlets week 15.
Next Three: Crocs, Manlets, Royals
PROJECTED RECORD: 7-9
NOTE ON THE PREDICTIONS I DO NOT USE THE LEAGUE PROJECTOR, so this is my prediction purely on observation - leaves it more open to being interesting anyway.
GAME OF THE WEEK: Warsaw Wolves vs. Hollywood Knights
Hollywood has boosted, Warsaw is boosting - I have no doubt both teams are using whatever bonus tokens they have for this one. Both teams love to put points on the board so it'll probably come down to which team makes the most defensive stops. Expect this game to come down to the wire as this is one neither team wants to lose.
Warsaw 48 Hollywood 42
Another Good One: Vienne Vikings vs. Milano Mamertini
Vienne needs to be on upset alert here, they cant afford to lose and the Mamertini have taken three straight, the Mamertini may not be headed to the post-season dance but you can bet they would love to spoil the fun for the Vikings as well.
Vienne 30 Mamertini 24
Check out the Late Game: Hague Pirates vs. Roman Legion
Ok ok ok not likely to happen but also not much going on until week 15 - in a perfect storm Hague could win this one. In the meantime I expect them to fight the Legion hard right up until the 4th QTR when the game will finally slip away from them.
Roman Legion 33 Hague Pirates 17
Other Action:
Crocs 42 Chuck 16
Bocs 54 Sidewinders 10
Manlets 144 Athens 0
Walters 63 Bulls 14
Tigers 19 C-Knights 6
