Maybe I'm just tired, but WTH is he talking about?

Rules for promotions to fill the spots of sold teams:
Since we've got to fill the slots of sold teams that will be vacated at the end of this season, promotion order will be sorted by the following criteria and season stats, in order, amongst the eligible teams in the 2 leagues below them:

1. Number of playoff victories
2. Number of playoff games participated in (this covers the first round losers over the non playoff teams)
3. Postseason scrimmage wins (not friendlies)
4. Postseason scrimmage ties (not friendlies)
5. Avg playoff game points differential
6. Avg postseason scrimmage points differential
7. Avg playoff points scored
8. Avg postseason scrimmage points scored
9. Avg playoff points allowed (lower is better)
10. Avg postseason scrimmages points allowed (lower is better)
11. Regular season wins
12. Regular season ties
13. Regular season points scored
14. Regular season points against (lower is better)
15. Random selection.

This makes it so we end up going down through the rounds, and the playoff scrimmage games vs the other league end up counting as to whether you can get promoted or not, assuming there are teams above you to take their place.

I'll add this info to the FAQ later tonight, too, for future reference.

i believe that determines who moves up this year IN ADDITION to the teams that win the league. they are "up filling" the leagues...

All sold and gutted teams are in "A" leagues....then everyone moves up based on the above mentioned criterea until all the leagues are filled

i think

makes sense...

...so essentially instead of a restructure it would seem that they are just going to drop all gutted/sold teams to the bottom and then refill based on the above plan?

They aren't dropping gutted teams, as far as I can tell, just CPU owned teams. Gutted teams will be relegated as normal, and then they are adding a flagging method (mentioned in a previous announcement) where owners in a conference can flag a gutted team to be moved.

I guess Barcelona will get flagged

That's what I was thinking.

It will be interesting to see many of us EEA5ers move up.

i would think that if we dont make it out of the playoffs this year, I would WANT to move up. I would like more competition than just a handful of games. No offense intended but looking at our schedule there are really only 5 teams that I seriously gameplan for....

Brown Bay, Belgrade, Barcelona, Targoviste, and Athens....

Other than that, its pretty much a blow out. So, I for one look forward to moving up, especially if we can beat those *%$&(ers from Brown Bay (currently 0-2)

I agree. If I had to rank, I'd say promotion is more of a goal than the league championship. Being stuck here for another season would be bad, and I fear could have a negative impact on the team, seeing how only a couple of games are exciting.

Thought you 'forgot' to game plan for us? Haha...j/k

Anyway, I know what you mean. I think that there will be enough teams that come in that will allow the top 5 from each conference to move up.

I could be wrong about that, but I would be more worried if we did get stuck down here again. I just don't know that it would really even be worth the trouble to recruit or anything to that effect. Everyone could keep things exactly the same and still be pretty much guaranteed a playoff berth.

and just for the record, BigC, I did game plan for you, I just forgot to change my settings...so everyone went one way, and the settings did the other...

I should add Odessa to that list too, i think. They have come a long way and if we played them again, I would watch out for them. And maybe boston too
