The Asylum is already a buzz with tail gaters awaiting the matchup of the season. These two rivals have had some great matchups in the past and this looks to be another.

Season 2 saw the Inmates jump out to an early 7-0 lead on a Beavis Hammerstein run in the first quarter. The Rain held the Inmates to no more scoring the rest of the game and scored 20 points themselves on the strength of the passing duo of Brett Laser and Allen Aldah. Final Score was 20-7 in favor of the Rain.

Season 3 saw a defensive struggle. The Inmates scored first with a FG. Then the Rain kicked their first FG. This was the pattern up until the fourth quarter, when the Inmates grabbed the lead for good with a passing TD by Spiral Wizz to TE Cold Zilla. Portland managed another FG but it was not enough as the final gun sounded with the Inmates up 16-12.

Season 4, once again, was another close battle. The Inmates scored first in this game, as well. In fact, the guys from FF.com went up 14-0 on the strength of a balanced running and passing attack. Portland scored their first points in the second quarter on a kickoff return for a TD. The Inmates bounced back and scored another TD before the half. The second half belonged to the Rain as they held FFI to no pionts and scored 17 for themselves to claim the 24-21 victory.

The Season 5 game promises to bring another classic to the GLB gridiron, as the Inmates look to even the score with the Rain and stake a claim for the top of the Zeta standings. With both teams with only one loss (both teams lost to Polynesian), the playoff seeding is on the line in this game; not to mention bragging rights until next season (or the next time these teams meet as one of them may be moving up this season, with any luck).

Here's to a good game and hoping the Inmates can hold their end of the bargain by being competitive.

LOL

If we can pull this one out (highly doubtful, but anyway), we will be saying the same thing on the 19th.

Much props for providing the history of our great rivalry. Our teams have had some VERY good games and this is shaping up to be another.
We mark this game on our calendar every season and have great respect for the Inmates. We give each other a scare every season!
Here's to another great game to renew our rivalry that has lasted for 4 seasons.

Indeed, thanks a ton Tishi for the recount of our past season highlights.
I am sure this year will give us all an equally tough and challenging game to enjoy watching, followed by a disection in minute detail once the adrenaline has burned its way out of our veins.

Well, that was no fun. So much for keeping it close. The Inmates just got embarrassed. Way to go Rain. Well deserved victory. Our D couldn't stop anything. We expected a shootout, but not a one sided one.

Congrats guys
