CCC 31 DAYTON 20
CCC was on a slide then pulled off 2 huge wins in a row, knocking off the preseason #1 and #2 teams. It is sad that we at the point where everyone is shocked when we win, but i'll take it. Game started slow, only 7-6 at the half, but picked up with a 24-14 second half, with CC on the right side of that. And this league continues to be unpredictable.
YAY!: CCC with nearly 200 more rushing yards
HUH?: Everyone shocked CCC actually won a game
OVERRATED?
SMOKERS 45 AVA 13
I know Ava hates that word, but things aren't looking good after dropping 3 in a row and 2 tough games up, it's not looking good. I know the Hawks are enjoying this. This game started on a bad note when AVA threw a pic that was returned 99 yards for a TD. Smokey used that to help build an 11 point halftime lead and never looked back. Smokers now locked into 2 spot, Ava needs to regroup for Dayton and CCC.
RARRR: Wry had 313 yards passing and only 9 incompletions (5 drops)
WIMPY: Both teams took to the air, resulting in less than 100 yards rushing for both

OSLO 28 REDDY 21
Interesting because Reddy is still in the 8th playoff spot, but have 3 tough games coming up, and could possibly be caught by Easy for that spot (see below). Each team missed one long fg, and then both scored 1 td a quarter til the fourth, Oslo scored and Lights didn't and that's your game. No confirmation yet on whether or not Easy did send champagne to Oslo or not afterwards.
GOTEM: Oslo D held reddy scorless in 4th and also held them to 65 yards rushing.
CMON: Lights losing here and possibly missing playoffs. Expected more from them.
PLAYOFF BOUND?

A totally overlooked game may now loom large in the playoffs to see who gets beat by Hawks first round. Bastards scored 11 seconds into game but from there, all Easy. Like your mom. Easy had nearly 700 total yards in racking up a huge win.

OR NOT: Bass gave up 6 sacks, lost a fumble, and averaged 0.1 yards a rush. Which means if you snap it to the QB and he falls forward, that would be your best running play.

Hawks are number 1 seed. They broke 100. Terror were right in the game until the coin flip.
NICE: Hawks got 7 sacks and forced 5 turnovers. Other than that and the shutout, they sucked.
LOL: i point out rushing yards a lot, but they are funny. 1 rushing yard for Terror. Thats awesome.

ALPHA CONF PLAYOFF SEEDING (PREDICTIONS)
1) Athens Nighthawks - with 4 easy games left they can pretty much write their name into the #1 seed for the playoffs. Enjoy the homecooking also as you might see either the Red Lights or Easy in game 1.
Remaining Schedule Results: 4-0; 15-1 Overall!

2) Amsterdam Smokers - no doubt this is the #2 seed and they are capable of knocking off #1 in the finals, if both teams can avoid the GLB playoff upset! The Smokers lost to Burnt Orange Rising and Canterbury CC so who knows what will happen in rounds 2-3 of the playoffs? The must do their part to beat Amsterdam Red Lights and finish the season strong against the Sooners!

3) Canterbury Crimson Crusaders - this team will scare anyone in the league as they seem to pull out excellent gameplans for each opponent. They do, however, have some suprising losses which shows the ownership doesn't mind taking risks. If they can hold off the Avalanche and Rebels, this team could finish the season 4-0 and 13-3 overall.

4) Dayton FnA - Dayton has struggled against the top teams in the league, but not by much. They are a favorite to knock off one of the top 2 teams in the playoffs but will need a perfect game to do so!

5) Helsinki Devils - Helsinki will finish the season 3-1/12-4 overall as they have a tough matchup against the Longhorn Legion across conference matchups in game 16. It will be a great game and one that determines where they'll be in the seeding! HUGE GAME for the Devils!

7) Arlington Avalanche - This is another team that is 3-4 key position players away from being one of the best in the league. Their builds and depth are not the best and it typically shows late in the game. Arlington is an excellent team that could lose 3 of its remaining 4 games as they line up agains The Crusaders, FnA, and cross league monster Gangsters. That said, they have an excellent shot at upsetting a #3=#5 seed in the playoffs with good gameplanning. Avalanche will meet up with the #2 seed which isn't really fair as this team is much better than their #7 seed.

8) Can we say it yet....NO! Easy Company and Amsterdam Red Lights will be in an all out battle for the #8 seed just for the opportunity to get stomped by the #1 seed. Both teams are playing for the pride of making the playoffs - I like our chances, that said, anything can happen between now and the 22nd of October. Easy needs the help of Helsinki, Athens, and Amsterdam to beat the Red Lights down to #9; while Easy Company needs to take care of business against the Huskies, Monkeys and Assassins....can they do it!? Does it matter?....EASILY a YES!
