Alpha Game of the Week:
Mongolian Horde at Cambodia Mountain Men:
A vastly improved Cambodian squad gets another crack at beating a top 3 team. Last season the Horde would have no trouble trouncing the Mountain Men, but the Cambodians have come a long way, scaring the Garudas, and compiling a long list of "upsets" including Salford, Firebirds, Hookers, and Water Dragons.
The Horde are better than all those teams, and the Mountain Men will require a lot of luck and and good tactics to pull this one off. After seeing what happened to the Gold Rush last week, I don't doubt that it can happen. MOUNTAIN MEN by 1
--------
Ho Chi Minh Hookers at Krungthep Garudas:
It's beast-faced birds against chicks with dicks in the red-light capitol of the world. The Hookers place smashmouth football with a rock solid defense, and by employing a bruising running game and controlling the clock they can subdue even the highest quality teams.
Krungthep has a powerful running game of their own, and their defenders have enjoyed success in limiting opponents' offensive opportunities so far this season. Their schedule has been noticeably light so far, and Ho Chi Minh will be a difficult test of their capabilities.
Will the Ho Chi Minh put the Garudas back in their cage, or will the avians slice and dice the Hooker's most vital parts? Expect a knockdown, drag-out fight, with Krungthep outlasting the Hookers for the win. GARUDAS by 7
Algeria Addiction at Mount Fiji Dogs:
The Algerians take the Dogs, grind them up, roll them, and smoke them up. Mt Fiji rename themselves the "Roaches" after the game. ADDICTION by 35
Columbus Black Knights at Pontianak Firebirds:
The Firebirds take advantage of an unmanned Columbus team, and scorch the Knights to a charcoal black. Stick a fork in Columbus, they are done for this season. FIREBIRDS by 35
Tibet Psychonauts at Salford Storm:
If Tibet wants to hang on to a playoff spot, they'll have to weather tough games like this. The Psychonauts overcome their level disadvantage and shock the league by sealing a win in the waning moments of the game. PSYCHONAUTS by 3
Padang Lightning at Hiroshima Radiation:
In terms of gutting, Hiroshima is a lot better and has been doing it longer than Padang, and their hardwork and dedication will show here. LIGHTNING by 35
Phuket Water Dragons at Pingree Grove Pits:
Both of these teams are better than their record suggests, and both intend to correct that gap in the game today. Unfortunately when it comes down to it, somebody's going to lose. Expect both teams to put up a massive struggle to make sure it isn't them. Pits have shown some teeth lately, but the Water Dragons have beaten much better teams before and will do so again. WATER DRAGONS by 14
Manila Cyberballers at AFEF Hooligans:
Manila will continue to roll in a cupcake match against the Hooligans. Their vacation will continue for another week, before they face some very tough competition to wind down the season. CYBERBALLERS by 35
