Below is my master plan for building my two OTs. I have been trying to follow the plan but sometimes team needs come first. So I have boosted more than once but I think my plans should still work.

LOT
Major: Strength, Blocking, Confidence, Agility, Vision
Minor: Tackling, Stamina

1 Strength 1st soft cap. Intense train lowest skill combos. Concentrate on Blocking & Agility
2 Blocking 1st soft cap. Intense train lowest skill combos. Concentrate on Speed & Agility
3 Agility 1st soft cap. Intense train lowest skill combos. Concentrate on Speed & Stamina
4 Blocking 2nd soft cap. Intense train lowest skill combos. Concentrate on Vision & Confidence
5 Vision 1st soft cap. Intense train lowest skill combos. Concentrate on Confidence & Stamina
6 Work on SA's
7 Use Custom & Advanced Equipment to address SA's prior to step 6.

************************************************************

ROT
Major: Strength, Blocking, Confidence, Agility, Vision
Minor: Tackling, Stamina

1 Strength 1st soft cap. Intense train lowest skill combos. Concentrate on Blocking & Agility
2 Blocking 1st soft cap. Intense train lowest skill combos. Concentrate on Speed & Agility
3 Agility 1st soft cap. Intense train lowest skill combos. Concentrate on Speed & Stamina
4 Strength 2nd soft cap. Intense train lowest skill combos. Concentrate on Vision & Confidence
5 Blocking 2nd soft cap. Intense train lowest skill combos. Concentrate on Vision & Confidence
6 Work on SA's
7 Use Custom & Advanced Equipment to address SA's prior to step 6.

Notes
I plan to intense train as often as possible. Obviously I will need to do some normal training to get shopping tokens for advanced equipment. Also because the first season with a D League money can be tight so I expect to have to train normal. I plan to train the lowest important skills at most trainings early. This maximizes the training in the lower levels. On skills that are lower than 15, I can usually gain 2 skill points in two skills equalling 4 SP in 8 days. As they go up with leveling and training the percentages drop. Training Breakthroughs can help this process as well. The lowest skills should always train faster than the soft capped skills. I also plan to address stamina with equipment.

Do the above plans sound ok? Does anybody have any advice? I am open to suggestions and can modify my plans.

Thank you. I'm going to assume that you meant to put Speed in just one of the categories and not both, but this is exactly what OTs should be. People need to stop being Pancake Whores and protect their damned QB.

Your T will give up shitloads of sacks if you don't get Agility up sooner. DEs go Speed->Agility->Vision->Tunnel Vision, and once they get Tunnel Vision up there, you better have 2nd capped Agility, 3rd capped blocking, and softcapped Vision.

LOT: Blocking softcap, all EQ in blocking, Agility to softcap, strength to softcap, SAs to level 6, then speed and vision.

I totally get the blocking then agility and then strength. I wish I would have asked this question sooner.

I also totally get speed but I don't plan to run any races with defensive ends. True most DEs are much faster than OTs. I think this has more to do with the fact that DEs have two jobs. First a DE must get by the OT. Second they must chase down a QB or RB. The OT just has to block the DE. If my OT can stay infront of the DE he will have done his job. I think...

Thanks to everybody for the tips. They were all very useful and give me a lot to think about. My players are already too far into steps 1 or 2 but if it doesn't work out I will remember your suggestions and build new players to see how it goes. I may try them next season for fun.

My level 26 left tackle:

33 speed
50 agility
53 strength
80 blocking
3 Protect SA
Run Block Tree: 20000

One sack given up in the past two seasons and that was when he got doubled up by the RDE and a LB. Two hurries allowed.

Working on strength/agility to second cap now.

I agree that people focus to much on pancakes but the reason is because their isn't any other "glamor" stat to look at for offensive linemen. If you know you've only given up two sacks, it's because you've watched all your tape and decided that your player wasn't responible for any of the other sacks given up by your team. Probably true but you can't compare that to another build quickly.

if you pancake your defender, they won't get to the QB, unless you have a turtle back there
besides, it helps in the rungame
but i guess its cause i'm a RT.

what does soft cap mean?

Player Attributes cost more skill points as they get higher in value. The points at which an attribute costs more points is referred to as softcaps. The first softcap is reached when a player has 48.07 of a given attribute. Only the actual attribute without equipment counts towards the softcap.

To the RT...this isn't Madden. You don't get pancakes on passing plays.
