Well I said when I started this I would cover the playoff hopefuls and we seemed to have 10 teams competing for 8 spots (not too much competition) strike that call it 11 teams with 1 more team added to the list. A bit more competitive and just a bit more interesting. But we start where we always start with - The Fabulous Four

1. New Jersey Crocodiles(6-0)
These guys are just plain good even if the manlets played good defense they are taking on all comers I won't be picking against them until someone knocks them off. They can snooze this week against the Sidewinders and prep for their matchup with Hollywood as they continue to press their case for going wire to wire.
The Road Ahead: Sidewinders, Hollywood, Constantinople
Projected: 9-0

2. Roman Legion(5-1)
Beat their second Knights team in as many games and draw the outmatched Tigers this week, another snoozer and stat padder. They head out after that to take on the upstart Wolves and the hard to figure Bocs.
UPCOMING OPPONENTS: Tigers, Wolves, Bocs
Projected Record: 8-1

3. Hollywood Knights(5-1)
I hope Hollywood enjoyed their blowout of the Mamertini they head into possibly the toughest 3 game stretch of any team on the schedule starting with this weeks battle against the Draftniks. Their big play passing game will be tested against some big play defensive opponents.
UPCOMING OPPONENTS: Draftniks, Crocs, Manlets
PROJECTED RECORD: 7-2

4. Warsaw Wolves(6-0)
The Wolves overcome three first quarter turnovers to take care of business against the insurgent Bulls, but its no rest for the weary as the Wolves turn their sites on the improved Vikings without setting too much of an eye on a match-up with perennial juggernaut the Legion.
UPCOMING OPPONENTS: Vikings, Legion, Mamertini
Projected Record: 8-1

Rising back up?
5. Walterfootball.com Draftniks(4-2)
Walter hangs a 100+ on the Sidewinders as they try to salvage a good shot at homefield against Hollywood. A loss to Hollywood sets them up with a playoff for homefield against the streaking Wolves in 4 weeks. A win and they get some breathing room.
The Road Ahead: Hollywood, Constantinople, Tigers
Projected: 6-3

Post-Season Hopefuls

6. Misc Manlets(3-3)
The Manlets retain this spot by virtue of the tough teams they have already played and the fact that they have yet to be truly "housed" by any of the fabulous four. Tough team that will do enough to make the post-season in pretty good standing.
UPCOMING GAMES: Hague, Sidewinders, Constantinople
PREDICTION: 6-3

7. Iberian Bocs (4-2)
If you can figure these guys out let me know, every time I move them up the rankings they lose, every time I move them down they win handily. I'm beginning to think they are just trying to make me look bad. They need to avoid having the Bulls make them look this next game because its no easy sledding after that.
UPCOMING GAMES: Pamplona, Vikings, Legion
EXPECTED RECORD: 5-4

8. Pamplona Bulls(3-3)
Pesky is the word for this team as my dark horse pick continues to ride. Forget winning against the elite four, Wolves or Manlets, if they beat everyone else(which they should) they still have a game to play with. I like what they have cooking and I can see them snagging the last playoff spot and at least getting to profit share with the Crocs. Drop a game though and the Popes game 16 matchup may do them in.
UPCOMING GAMES: Bocs, Athens, Chuck
PROJECTED RECORD: 6-3

On the oustide?

9. Hague Pirates(3-3)
Hague had fun against Athens (hey who hasnt this season?) but now turn their attention to the rough tough Manlets, an upset would put them in prime playoff position - but this is not an upset team just one that plays solid and beats the people they should.
UPCOMING GAMES: Manlets, Chuck Norris, Sidewinders
EXPECTED RECORD: 6-4

10. Chuck Norris(3-3)
They have not scored more than 7 points against a non-gut job yet this season - that doesnt get my nickers wet. Im not sure they can put enough points on the board to win and get a playoff spot this season. They'll feast on their marginal up-coming opponent but dont let that fool you, when you hear the gong gong gong - it's the bell tolling for Chuck Norris's season.
UPCOMING OPPONENTS: Athens, Hague, Bulls
PROJECTED RECORD: 4-6

11. Vienne Vikings(3-3)
Makes the list with some pretty decent recent play. Certainly their front 7 defensively looks promising while their secondary may yet be another story, impressive turnaround job from last season and they seem to add another impact player daily. Their team reminds me of my 5-11 Wolves squad of last season - only better. Should be very very dangerous next season and I wouldn't count them out yet for this year.
UPCOMING OPPONENTS: Wolves, Bocs, Athens
PROJECTED: 4-5

NOTE ON THE PREDICTIONS I DO NOT USE THE LEAGUE PROJECTOR, so this is my prediction purely on observation - leaves it more open to being interesting anyway.

GAME OF THE WEEK: Hollywood Knights vs. Draftniks
My my what a game - second most anticipated matchup for the season so far for me. A win puts the Draftniks back in the the thick of things a loss and their chances of homefield hinge on almost any miss-step - pretty high stakes for being so early in the season. For Hollywood a win keeps them in the top 3 of the league a loss opens the door on the Draftniks - which they hope to close and opens up their own possibility of missing out on home field. My prediction a late Hollywood rally dooms the Draftniks as Speed Hands beats David Ward to the endzone.
Hollywood 27 Draftniks 23

MUST SEE TV: Bocs vs. Bulls
A battle of two evenly matched teams at the bottom of the playoff struggle, the Bulls are good and getting better, the Bocs are inconsistent and streaky. Bulls start out on top then hold on late in a defensive struggle
Bulls 20 Bocs 17

CHECK OUT THE LATE GAME: Hague vs. Manlets
The Manlets are Solid - Hague is Solid, the Manlets though are a big more stout and get to take out some frustration against the Hague after maybe a moral victory against the Crocs didnt taste so sweet.
Manlets 34 Hague 10

Welcome to the party: Wolves vs. Vikings
The Vikings get better day by day, but their secondary is not good enough yet to stop what even most of my opponents will say is one of the best if not the best passing attacks in A5. Vikings best days are clearly ahead of them.
Wolves 48 Vikings 14

If your interested in these games your padding stats:
Crocs 212 Sidewinders 0
Legion 134 Tigers 3
Norris 100 Athens 3
Constantinople 21 Mamertini 20

I can say that I am definitely glad that the Manlets are out of that part of the schedule.

real good stuff, playoff spots will be won or lost in the next weeks. We have an easy looking game ahead, before the next showdown comes around the corner. We will concentrate first on the next game, then we will prepare ourselves for the Wolves.

I'm also exited about the battle between the Draftniks and the Hollywood Knights

I don't think the crocs are overrated. The proof is in the pudding, and you beat us (the Legion) fair and square with great play from your QB.

We hope, however, to give you a much better game next time we meet.

Give me time to rebuild Constantinople. When I got the team 10 days ago there were 8 human players and the stadium had minimum seating with no upgrades. I now have 0 CPU players granted I had to sign a lot of lower level guys. I am hoping to make us competitive next season and develop some rivalries.

Yeah I started with a nasty gut job leftover team as well but have slowly re-built. Of course with all the gut jobs from AA - Pro coming down to the A leagues next season you could go to stud status in year.

That and I think (this is my best guess by counting really bad or slow build teams above) that they will advance the top 2 or 3 from each conference anyway. Should be fun but hopefully I win my way into AA regardless.
